    1734E problems

Does not sound like a Massey failure but definitely a dealer failure. I would like more information on this hydraulic filter delete.? I am not aware of a remote only filter, Are you saying they deleted the main hydraulic filter?

Display & Lights blowing fuse after replacing stop relay

A wiring diagram would help but I doubt the relay has anything to do with lights. It is more plausible that in the process of disconnecting the switch and trying to use a jumper something is now shortened. I would look closely at the wires around the switch and behind the instrument panel.

CLANGING in the front diff of brand new T494....what the heck

I would not involve an attorney at this point. You definitely should ask for money back or maybe ask if you can swap for the 4820C since you liked your Branson. The dealer might be willing to help do that. Everything you mentioned is under warranty and they should be willing to work with you.

CLANGING in the front diff of brand new T494....what the heck

What state are you in? Maybe someone on the forum knows the contact information for the regional Service Manager for TYM. I believe they will make it right but likely not in the time frame you need. Going to a dealer you did not buy from often times puts you at the bottom of their priority list...

CLANGING in the front diff of brand new T494....what the heck

I would not be so quick to judge this dealer. Big Red’s in Granbury TX used to advertise about how they put every tractor they sold on the PTO Dyno and provided the print out before delivery just to make sure output was in spec. I would give them the opportunity to make this right before...

Questions on TYM T474 operator platform

The 20 series definitely has more room than the 15 series. I am taller but not too thick so I do ok in my 4815C. Another thing to consider is I was told they stopped producing the shuttle in the 15 series and offer only HST. May produce it again next year as they have had issues with the clutch...

Questions on TYM T474 operator platform

I am not sure what you do not like on the controls but they are similar to the 15 series. Maybe I am just use to mine but the controls do not bother me. The 4820 has one feature that is very nice. It has 4 range gears and it is synchronized. Shifts very easily unlike the 15 series. I suggest...

    Will UAW Strike?

Exactly! My hat is off to them and thankful there is folks that will still do the job! But watching that show has opened my eyes to the issues we face. This thread is a good example. People demanding more money by not working for less money makes no sense to me.
  16. K5lwq

    Will UAW Strike?

No way I could be a law enforcement officer! I have been watching a TV show On Patrol Live and I get pissed just listening to the idiots they have to deal with. I would beat someone to death on my first shift! I don’t get how they can keep their cool.

    First time tractor

Welcome to TBN. Out of the models you listed and the task you have mentioned, I would go with the 4820. The main reason is it has the tightest turning radius out of the 3 and that would come in handy in the woods.

measure hydraulic pressure at any fitting?

As long as there is not another valve with a pressure relief then the pressure would be the same. Of course it will be different downstream of the valve you are using for the test.
  25. K5lwq

measure hydraulic pressure at any fitting?

I really don’t watch it often as it is too far away from me while on the tractor to see. I do look at it when I lift my pallet to fuel the tractors as I am standing beside it when lifting. It takes about 1,800 PSI to lift that.
  26. K5lwq

measure hydraulic pressure at any fitting?

I did the same thing for a different reason. I left the gauge on so I would know where it was next time I need it. :ROFLMAO:

    Loosening hydraulic fitting

Definitely get wrenches that fit the hose and coupler and do not use adjustable wrench. The way I have found that works real well is position the wrenches close together. Put one wrench on the hose end then position the other wrench on the coupler so that the end of the wrench is close but a...

Large Garden Plot from Pasture: Take 2

    Fluids for T474HC?

    HP For Snow Blower

Congratulations on the new tractor! Wheel weight is good for traction and helps some with stability but doesn’t help at all offsetting loader weight. Something on the 3pt for that purpose for sure. Don’t know about the TYM version but does it have a place for wheel weights? A lot of people like...

    TYM T-700 wood scrounging.

2 mile round trip? I think a farm wagon that can carry the load would be the answer. That is a long way to carry one log at a time not to mention the stress on the loader and front end.
  38. K5lwq

    Fluids for T474HC?

Measure the distance from the fill port height to the sight glass. Anywhere close to that length would be fine. Normally gear cases are filled to half way of their total capacity. Unless your friend had really long skinny fingers he would not reach the oil.
  39. K5lwq

    Fluids for T474HC?

If it was too low you would have noticed it when it sucked air into the system. The only other thing would be the oil would run a little hotter. If you are concerned, just use a piece of wire or something clean and stick in down your fill port as Seven Gables suggested. If it is wet when you...

I am surprised that there is a noise ordinance with 17 plus acre parcels. I am also surprised he could even hear a Honda engine running. Wonder if it was the noise that bothered him or the violation(in his mind) that was his problem. Either way I am thankful none of my neighbors would ever...

    5530 wont start

Is there just one wire on the solenoid? If so, it should only power up to turn the tractor off. If you have voltage all the time you could have a stuck relay. If this is the case you could remove the wire and see if it will start.
  44. K5lwq

    T25 Knocking problem

I believe we will need a little bit more information. A knocking sound usually refers to a rod or crankshaft knock. Not a sound you want to hear on a new tractor. Ticking type sound or other type noises can be any number of things. Is the sound present as long as the engine is running? Does...

Installing a bush hog 2246 qt loader on a Massey Ferguson 135

I am not familiar with the diverter set up on your tractor but do not cap off the PB port. That will cause your pump to dead head. I would suspect that the return on the diverter would be where the PB line would go and possibly there is another port somewhere that you could tap into for the tank...

I hope they will take care of you to your liking. Did you remove the hydraulic line and lose 1/2 gallon of oil??? No way I see you losing more than an ounce or so by removing that line. But all I have is the picture but it would be interesting if you find out differently.

Even if you could snake that filter out, I don’t know a single mechanic that would fight that at the risk of breaking a sensor or something. I would pull that hydraulic line without thinking and maybe see if there is enough room for the hood to close if I held it clear of the filter before...

John Deere 3046r Error Code Plague

No problem. A wiring diagram will probably be of little help in this case. I would start at the battery and work my way back. Look at every sensor wire and follow the wires. It is not a fun process but very likely you will find the problem. But getting the service manual is a great idea for...

John Deere 3046r Error Code Plague

Ditch and Bank Mowers -- Too Fragile for Regular Use?

I mow regularly with a ditch bank flail and have not had any issues yet. However, there is no doubt a heavy duty rotary mower is more robust and is less maintenance. First oil change workmaster 75 2022 what in God's name

  63. K5lwq

First oil change workmaster 75 2022 what in God's name

The hydraulic line is the path of least resistance but still don’t know what else will have to be removed to get the old one off. They tend to install filters dry at factories so it may put up a good fight. Unbelievable!

First oil change workmaster 75 2022 what in God's name

Wow, what a PITA that is! Engineers drive me nuts sometimes. Taking it to the dealer to do the service is a option but no matter how you slice it all they did was screw the mechanic and owner with that design!

I finally got the clutch rod replaced. I ended up having to buy the upper linkage as well because Branson/TYM upgraded the linkage to a larger diameter. Wiring - Power, from the battery on...

The red cable should go to the starter solenoid. Sometimes the cables can corrode under the insulation and not be able to carry much current. Cleaning the grounds is a great idea and more often than not the root of many wiring issues. I would start with a voltage drop test to determine that...

Advice on 2000 John Deere 790 sway issue

If you don’t want or need to adjust the tires out, you could just flip the lift pins of the mower over. Then the arms would attach on the inside of the mower lift frame instead of the outside. That should give you plenty of clearance. Then tighten the sway arms as mentioned above.

    Branson 2515h Range Shifter Issue

I have had real good success using the John Deere goop. My name for it not theirs. I think they just call it tire sealant. It does not rust the rim and is easy to clean out. I had a front tire that had very bad dry rot cracks that leaked in multiple places around the tire. Put the goop in and...

TYM T1104 Tractor & TX110 Loader and a lot of questions

Self leveling arms are nice for some things but back dragging is not one of them. Rather than reinforcing the arms, try curling the bucket all the way up so there is no way for it to bend and use the heel of the bucket to back drag. It works but takes a little more time to get it smooth. But you...

What have you done to your Branson today?

Yes, hopefully that is all that is leaking because splitting the cabbed version does not look fun at all. But from looking in the bell housing and seeing how clean everything was, I can’t imagine that is just gear oil or hydraulic fluid. One thing that has crossed my mind is I am running T6...

What have you done to your Branson today?

Mowing is about as happy as a tractor could ever be. Constant RPM in its peak power curve. Loader work is a little tougher on it with lots of stops and starts usually at much lower RPMs. Then there is excessive weight on the front ends. This tractor has not done much loader work at all. A few...

What have you done to your Branson today?

Update; Got a call from the dealer and they suspect a leak on the front drive line seal. They are going to fix it under warranty so that is great. But I asked them to pull the bell housing cover and look at the top of it because I am almost certain that is motor oil. It is too black to be gear...

Questions about new T494...just arrived today

It is because the EPA requires them to meet tier 4 emissions standards. They added a manual regen to help with keeping the DPF clean. It actually is an improvement over the earlier tier 4 engines with DPF and no regen options. You can remove the DPF and replace it with a muffler but the light...

New 87-in offset flail Victory tractors

Exactly why I rigged up a “float“ scenario on my Branson. Works well mainly because of the high internal leakage of my valve. But I used an electric over hydraulic solenoid valve to tie the ports of each cylinder together. I raise it up to full 90 degrees and flip a switch and let it fall.

    Hydrolic fluid level

I always have checked fluid with all cylinders retracted. On a BX it probably doesn’t matter but move to a large TLB and you can see the difference. Turning up the hydraulic pressure on an NX?

Most of the time the pressure relief valve is located on the directional control valve. Sometimes it is just a screw with a locking nut and other times it is shims. But please be careful. You should never do this without a pressure gauge to tell you what pressure the system is at. And stay...

For the record I am not anti-HST at all. I have recommended HST to folks that do a lot of loader work. I also have spent plenty of time with HST tractors. Bucket work with clutch /shuttle Vs hydro.

I agree. I have driven gear tractors for the past 40 years. Outside of an 8N ford, never desired a HST. Backhoe valves leaking

Can you tell where the fluid is coming from? If from the valve it could be a o-ring pushed out. But I would think it may just be a hose busted. The pressure relief valve should have protected the system.
  128. K5lwq

    My Farmall 70A won’t run.

It sounds like your stop solenoid should have 3 wires going to it. If that is the case, one will be to pull the plunger back, another will hold the plunger back and the last one is ground. You need to check that you have voltage on the hold wire. Start the tractor and when it dies leave the...

Stuck loader joystick: talk me through how to diagnose/fix?

I would start by moving the joystick while watching the valve. When you move it left to right does the curl spool on the valve move in and out? Do this with the tractor not running. If the spool moves then I would swap the lift hoses with the curl hoses and see if the loader lifts and lowers...

I agree a lot of manufacturers put filters in not so good places. 240D for sale

    240D for sale

Why 3 lines for the backhoe attachment?

The 3rd function valve is designed to handle the back pressure from down stream valves so that is why it does not need a separate tank port. Power beyond will go from loader valve to 3rd function valve then to the backhoe power in port. The backhoe valve has a tank port only and not power...
  142. K5lwq

Why 3 lines for the backhoe attachment?

One hose feeds the backhoe. One hose is the return to tank. And the third hose is power beyond that feeds 3pt and remote valves. When you have the backhoe disconnected you need to loop the power hose to the third hose.

    Yanmar

It is possible but if it is tight then it should work just fine. Do you know how much of the splines are in the arm? Should be more than half way at least. If it is, I would not worry about it.
  150. K5lwq

    Hydraulic line

I think it will come back down. It will be harder to do with it off the pump.
  151. K5lwq

    Yanmar

How tight are you tightening the nut? When you remove the nut can you you remove the pitman arm with you hands? That nut should be really tightened down. I normally use an impact wrench on those. The arm should require a puller to remove.
  152. K5lwq

    Hydraulic line

That is the suction line for the pump. Whatever you hit bent it up so you should be able to bend it back down so it is more in line. You do not want a leak there as it will pull air into the system.
  153. K5lwq

    Yanmar

How are trying to seat it? It should be tapered and the nut should seat it enough when you tighten it up.
  154. K5lwq

    5093e Coolant leak

Maybe a rubber mallet? I would imagine the retaining clips and the O-rings would hold it in place pretty well. Should take a good wack to move it I would think. But I would inspect the clips closely to make sure it is open on the end to allow it to slide to the left.

PTO Drive shaft problem (my latest issue)

Glad you are letting the dealer handle this. Ask them to service the PTO and check oil in gear box while they have it. They can grease it up for you and make sure it is ready for use. This should be done every season. Hang in there and rely on others to help you with this kind of stuff.
  160. K5lwq

PTO Drive shaft problem (my latest issue)

So that shaft should have a shear bolt located under the plastic shield where it connects to the mower. Is this where the handy man thought the noise was coming from? If so, I would think it has sheared and the shear bolt needs to be replaced.

Yes, injection pump. The plungers are probably sticking a bit. At some point it will be a good idea to take it to a reputable injector pump rebuild shop to have it gone through. CK20H Won't Shut Off with Key

If you have tested the stop solenoid removed from the pump and it works when key is switched to off then the problem likely lies in the IP. The rack could be sticking enough that solenoid is not able to move it but the mechanical stop will.
