by the way, the same relay works in about 4-5 different functions in my tractor. Heck, i have 3 of them alone in the cab support arm.i have several spares in my shop. They only fail in dead of winter…just like my smoke detectors only have battery failure alarm go off at 3am.
You wont make a cent in court. .. hes offering you the return of your deposit.
its not his fault prices have gone nuts. But it is his fault for not placing a clause in contract to cover price increases due to inflation.
as long as he returns all funds less permit fee, i dont see why you would...
I have friends that log out their property on regular basis. The prices they get per truckload have not increased at all in past 4-5 years. I dont know if its the mills or the wholesalers that are raking in the money…but it sure isnt the land owners.
i got a bid last year to log out 10 acres to...
Try a new battery. If you want, place an ammeter on existing battery and then try starting tractor. I bet you will see voltage drop alot.
i too think leaving broken key in place kept circuit live and you killed battery. Just showing 12 v without a draw is no way to test a battery. You need to...
I have no idea if undercarrage bracing is model specific on the hoe. Maybe it is a thing to consider selling entire package….only draw back i see is you may get stuck with a tier 4 piece of equipment…..then again, i. Not sure if your unit already is tier 4.
when i purchased mine, i thought long...
Weird, i just went to hd and lowes ….needed a dozen 2x4 8 footers. Lowes had them for $14.99 each and had several hundred in stock. H depot wanted $5.89 but had none left in stock. Im not willing to pay $15 for a stinking 2x4….so i guess ill wait.
If you have a truck, just purchase a flatbed trailer and haul it yourself. Then eithr keep the trailer or sell it and get most, if not all, your investment back. Unless youve never towed before…..learning while hauling a tractor may not be fun.
As an electrician i can say prices have gone nuts over last 6 months. On one recient project the price of underground wire went up 50% over the 2 weeks we worked on the job. Heck, a piece od 2” rigid conduit went from $48 last year to $197.00 last week.
i picked a good time to retire.
Ive been told prices here are dropping…but i sure dont see it. 5 years ago i purchased 10 acres across the street from me for about 65k. Now that property is appraised at $350k. Actually, some one nearby just sold 5 bare acres for $310, so my 10 may be worth more. But i have no interest in...
Ah the cda north 40 is a huge store……i shop there alot. The sandpoint store is not as large, but quite well stocked.
i only said that because i returned a defective dewalt sander to HD last year and the guy placed it into a basket labeled tools. Not into a return to vendor box. I know it went...
Heat pump start up load can be very high. My old unit had 90 amp inrush, but ran at 24 amps. Lights dimmed
i added a SOFT START unit (not to be confused with a hard start kit). Problem went away. A soft starter reduced inrush loads by about 60%.
many brands out there. Mine is a sure start Made...
I disagree. Ive seen welded decks that look like there built like a tank. Way stronger than the thin stamped units. The rocks simply bend my decks up to a point they become useless. I clear rocks every year….but they simply grow rocks here. They hide in the grass and weeds. Its amazing.
was...
rocks on my property take their toll on the mower decks. my next unit will have a welded, formed deck, not a stamped deck.
but as long as i can keep mine running, i will keep it. i repaired the last deck to useable state to use when wife insists on mowing the trails and the side of road. this...
Not sure how old your old mower is, but you should be able to get a complete new stamped deck for it. Ive replaced the deck on my 12 yo huskvarna mower 2 times now. They cost about $600.
Most decks are made by same company it seams.
Ive run into generac air cooled inside complete enclosures. Im usually called to try and repair damaged generator. Melted control panels, etc.
they need complete air movement. personally, who cares about a little hum when its cold, dark, wet outside and no utility power.
Backup home standbys are recommended to swap out battery every 5 years, but i generally get 7 years out of them as long as there is no battery heat pad in use. With a heat mat….maybe 3 years if your lucky. I always run load test and run my electronic battery tester on them before replacing them...
On mine, i dug a huge pit and placed all the stumps in there. Then i burned pit over a year, adding dead trees and brush. This burnt the roots down considerably. then i buried pit. That was maybe 10 years ago. Pit settled a bit, i added some dirt. Now i csnt recall where pit exactly was.
the largest slab i mixed by hand in a wheelbarrow was 10’x10’x4”. Mixed, poured and screeded as i went along. Troweled as needed. It was a tack room floor so it got broom finish. No cold joints. Looks great 15 years later. 80lb bags. Sucked.
Set a mobile home up and rent it out until you decide to build a home. Our area also requires a real home before they allow even power brought onto property.
when i sold my JD870 i posted in craigslist that i will ONLY sell it to someone that shows up at my house with cash. i would help haul it if its local. before i did that, i was getting all sorts of spam calls....ill send you 2x the amount bt check, you send tractor and the other half type of...
Boy, your nicer than me. No way id have loaned it out. Fact that he never paid you for the last time you worked his land was enough reason to say no.
i might keep it another week….holy hell.
Na, landing was easy enough, and i learned in a crappy piper tomahawk. Back then i soloed with about 20 ish hours training with instructor. I could have tried earlier, but learning in van nuys air traffic area was quite intimidating. Heck, C130’s were constantly taking off. Messed up the air...
have the same torch...i burn the yellow can gas... MAP PRO gas. works great. hotter flame than propane. mine is at least 15 years old in service rig. have same one next to wood stove probably 10 years old.... for starting stove.
here in Idaho, the state inspects ALL industrial and commercial work.period.
it all has to adhere to NEC. it does not matter what instruction manual says.
a UL listed device does NOT have to adhere to NEC codes. thats why theres alot of #12 control wires in a 60 amp lathe. but once a wire...
welders are different from almost every other device. even if its a rated 50 amp ark welder, it probibly only draws 20 amp running. maybe 40 to spark an ark. thats why they can use #10 on a 50 amp dedicated welding circuit IN INDUSTRIAL AND COMMERCIAL buildings only....but I personally have...
I have No idea what your trying to say
a breaker can be 125% oversized as long as theres a fused circuit further dowm protecting the equipment. But wire size has max NEC loads. If the equipment has a momentary 50 amp draw than runs at 20 amps… like a welder can… i have seen legal situations...
ya....i always get a laugh when i hear someone ask for technical help at home depot or lowes electrical isles. some of the answers i hear send chills down my back.
they do make some good "electrical for dummy " books out there, that are quite informing. but no one even bothers to buy those...
Im not a friend of Harbor Freight….but i can arrest to the fact that their $500 air dryer is absolutely amazing. When i got mine years ago it was $349.00. .. loke 10 years ago. Still works great. I have a paper water trap downstream from dryer, and it has NEVER trapped any moisture. Nothing gets...
Our new local food store includes an ace hardware. There prices are only slightly higher than home depot, so if i figure gas into the equation, i shop at ace alot.
mind you, i wouldnt buy 2x4s at ace, but when i need some bolts or spray paints, why not.
I simply added a power switch with pilot light by the man door, that turns system on when needed. Then added a manual shut off valve at tank next to the air dryer. I personally have no need to keep system pressurized so i dont. If i know i will be needing air, i simply flip on switch as i enter...
Yes, bad elements will trip breakers. Breakers are heat protected. If calciuum buildup is enough, wire load will increase, ie more heat. Thermal breaker will trip.
more than likely, no one replaced anode either.
personally, id replace entire thing if its real old.
The difference is gasoline is like utility power and water. Those are regulated as they really effect peoples lives. Imagine if cost of water and electricity could skyrocket overnight. You can elect not to purchase lumber, but without gas you cant get to work to afford your rent or mortgage. Gas...
i hear lots of people calling generac crap, but after installing and servicing them for years, i can honestly say they build a nice unit. i have very, very few issues with them. most issues arise from stupid owners not servicing them. i mean come on, not even doing an oil change for 7 years and...
Mine is 80 gallon upright, copper piped thru shop. I also have a refrigerated water separator and inline filter to protect my cnc plasma cutter. Have a 50’ self roll hose at each side of shop.
only thingni wish is that i had installed compressor outside shop, but i had to prevent freezing...
For what there worth. I used to get reports from home inspectors from a realestate company i worked for as an electrical contractor. Id see some items like coverplates missing in living room. Panel needs labels, etc. just minor stuff. But on one house i went into attic to see about adding fan...
the spray pattern never changed. Im going to try placing hose in 55 gal barrel and see what happens…..maybe this weekend if rain clears up. Always wondered.
When i unhook hose from frostfree, i drop hose and use pressure washer until it stops spraying. This way i empty hose. No one is going to tell me it wont suck. Its an older honda powered pump.
Here in idaho, when i sold my rental, the real estate company and title office had a form where i had to declare items that i knew of about property. One item was leaks in basement Or foundation. If you try to cover it up and declair no leaks….i can see future problems. If i were to cover it up...
problem is...this just seals water inside concrete and blocks, eroding away the rebar. this is just surface repairs. you need to remove all backfill from walls, clean and waterproof the actual walls.
i used to do this for a living years ago. i would prep cleaned wall with layer of ThoroSeal...
if the contractor was licensed and bonded, contact local building dept and lodge a complaint. you can attach his bond and hes out of business until its fixed. if you hired an unlicensed contractor...well, nothing you can do.
i also wonder why theres a 42" footing for a shed.
my own experience from a few years back. customer called with dead generator. turns out T1 fuse had blown (that charges controller which inturn charges battery). battery was frozen solid. had 0 volts on my meter. battery was 2 months old. temps in the negative this time of year.
a fully charged...
boy, my local h depot and lowes dont even carry sch 80 electrical pipe right now..and cant even order it.. only schedule 40. have to buy 80 from wholesale houses. today, it was $51.70 per stick. im glad i retired last year.
also,
Charlotte Pipe 1-in x 10-ft 630 Psi Schedule 80 Grey PVC Pipe...
For one roof….just rent one. There real inexpensive to rent, and rental units are generally good quality brands…. Less for them to repair and less down time.
And its so rediculous. First they say its was due to pvc plant in texas being destroyed years ago, so prices went up. Now, no excuses, prices just keep going up. As long as const keeps going gangbusters, no one is refusing to pay the higher prices, so they wont go down. Lumber prices finally...
The only thing , besides hammers, that harbor freight sells and i like, are the US GENERAL tool boxes. They are made extremely strong and are very reliable. Great build quality. The rest of the store you can throw out
i almost thought i found another good product there….a case of different...
no idea on current prices, bur the way steel is right now, i bet there overpriced from what they were selling for a year ago. i just paid $140.00 for a 2" x 10' rigid galv pipe. same pipe cost about $50 last year.
i have a 1000' 3 point grader 8' wide made by king kutter. it does a great job on...
but i just installed a 400 amp service for someone last week. a 2" piece of rigid IMC steel pipe was $140.00 per stick. last year it was $58.00
a 10' piece of 1" sched 80 pvc pipe was 43.10 per stick. about 1.5 years ago was $12.60
and finally 2 weeks ago #6 alum XHHW wire was .38/ft, but...
Pinch proof..oh brother. In 40+ years on working with ladders on the job i cant recall a single time i pinched myself on a ladder.
i think you could stack ladders together using those clips to reach 110’ high🤣😂😅
If you are only feeding this with a single breaker, and a single black hot, you can't possibly have 240 v. Is the fan known good, or was it old.
your schematic looks fine.
im on 30 acres. range is in middle..probibly 1200' to property line. i have a railroad tie backstop. property is all treed.
sheriffs could care less if i shoot here. totally legal.
You got it. Last year one of the newbys that moved here for “freedom” called the sheriffs dept to report me shooting on my gun range. As they probibly hid under their sofa. Sheriffs did nothing. i only heard about it from a cop friend of mine. They move for freedom, then try to change the way we...
Same here. I have 30acres, was extremely rural. 25 miles to town to shop . Now houses popping up everywhere. Was 20 acre minimum. Now 5 acre minimum. Some idiot tried to put 27 houses on 3.5 acres but was turned down …finally.
we now have nice, huge grocery/ hardware store 6 minutes from house...
on mine its just an electromagnet unit that locks the foot peddle inplace. the unit is maybe 3" round and placed alongside the foot peddle linkage.
i found someone elses post about it and how to adjust. maybe yours is similar...
Another thing to try. Simply press dipstick onto blue paper towels, oil shows up great this way. I use it on generator services. Oil is too clear to see on silver dip stick. I know of no coloring agent,
Onthe older gas engine genie units i worked with as an electrician, there was a manual down bypass valve to lower unit in an emergency. Located at base of unit. Id be pissed being stuck 45 ft up there with wife running around finding parts to fix it.
At least it didnt brake 40 feet up in air. I rented a similar unit to paint my house, all battery operated. No engine. Loved it. Electric self leveling legs. Completely silent. No idling engine noises.
wouldnt mind buying one…but there super spendy.
On my kioti DK45 a dash light comes on when i open the interconnect brake latch, and then the cc shuts off. Not sure your unit is the same. Its to prevent accidential use of one peddle braking while engaged in high speed roading of tractor while cruise is engaged.
heres a schematic on dk45...
do you have a detent rear hydraulic fitting besides the pones hooked up. if it locks into detent without an implement hooked up it will stop all flow (deadhead). i loop hoses on all unused ports.
My cheep speeco post hole digger is 28 years old. Replaced worn out augars over the years. Nothing to break on them really. I added a hydraulic down pressure kit to mine years ago.
I love the statements… charge your car for free. How does a 40-50 grand investment, plus required occasional battery bank swaps make it free power. And if you power your house during a power outage from your truck….what do you drive to work the next day.
I have customers that use them, cant possibly run whole house. These are mostly to run cpap machines thru night, so they dont need to run whole house units. Good to run a freezer, etc, no way whole house.
i looked at the kubota diesel rig before i purchased the mule. i liked the kubota, but i couldnt stand how noisy it was. this was maybe 5-6 years ago. a real rattle trap. the wife hated it. the mule is very quiet.
i wanted to look first hand at the kioti mechron, but there have never been able...
No matter if you glue electrical conduit or not…
water will get in pipe. Always has, always will. The wires used wont be affected by water. I always pull URD wires in, thats what our inspectors want. Not affected by water.
XHHW rated wire is also great to use in conduit. Thinner insulation...
5” pipe.. seriously. I have never seen 5” pipe and ive been an electrical contractor for over 30 years. PVC pipe is used underground here . Metal pipe would rot away In our soils…..not even allowed to be used. Guess different states could require different materials. How many amps are we talking...
my jd870 didnt need legs, it just balanced itself. only issue was if i left it off for a few days, sometimes the hydraulics would lower itself. id have to reconnect hoses to raise it back up to reconnect. my kioti has the legs. the JD was easier to hook up and remove overall.
have no idea on...
Copper wire has gone nuts. A roll of 10/3 romex is nearly $470.00Thats insane.
was a little over $200 last year.
i just looked at cablemaster supply, where i used to purchase 10 conductor generator cable. a 250 foot roll is 40% more money than it was since my last order 18 months ago. I picked...
Holy cow on prices. I put in a burial 1000 gallon tank 3 years ago. Tank cost me $1,000 plus i paid to install it. Glad i did it when i did. I could only imagine what a 1000 gal tank costs today.
Oh well….spring has sprung. 52 today, rainy. Ground free of ice and muddy. I pulled all snow gear and chains today. Chains were wrecking havoc on the ground.
Ok, i see that the transfer switch is also out there, that makes things alot harder. This switch needs to be set just before the transfer switch.
with your setup, you may need to install a 120 volt light, hooked up before transfer switch, with a switch out there, that can be seen from the...
No, it can be anywheres the main power line is. For instance if the feed from the meter runs into house panel in garage, just hook it to the lined going from the meter into the garage panel. It need to hook up to any utility fed wire, that does NOT get powered up by a generator. In other worde...
Latency
Latency -- the amount of time it takes for data to travel from the server to your browser -- can slow down a website's load time even over a high speed connection. HTTP, the protocol used for websites, sends short bursts of data, which is why the round trip time affects the page load...
i just wonder, does the extended ping times make for a delay while using computers? during searches or opening new sites. my wireless system has ping time of about 10-15 ms, and sometimes that slows things down. my download speed is about 13 now, and upload about 4. with upgraded dish i no...
i ordered a universal tractor /lawn mower seat cover from ebay 3 years ago. fits great, wears great.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/363251551382?hash=item54937acc96:g:v5sAAOSwFoFf-M1u
Our winter is probibly over here also, got louse 1/2” snow yesterday. Today its -6°F. Looking to warm up all next week. Wont take anything off tractor yet though….thats tempting fate. When i do remove everything, it will be time for full tractor maintenance.
I believe were done with snow here. Still have 2” ice on driveway and walkways, maybe 16-18” snow out back where sun doesnt reach, but rest of snow down to about 6”. Roof is nearly bare of snow.
when i moved to my current home 26 years ago, it was a 30 mile drive to town for parts. a person starts storing everything that may come in handy some day. gets to be quite the collection. i ended up installing pallet racking system to store it all, in addition to parts for my electrical...
Hopefully its not. One thing not worth replacing is rotor and stator set. If you can find one there way too expensive to blow on a 10 yr old machine. But it could be something as easy as brushes.
if they dont know anything about these units, he can purchase a diagnostic manual online. Very...
ive rewired all my rigs and i have never had any issues with electric brakes......on rental trailers with surge brakes, im less than enthused. i can feather breaking ability depending on the load with electric brakes.
actually, its more economical to run a 22kw generator at half power than to run a 16kw maxed out. it all depend on the load. summer load is far different than winter loads. i have had people complain about their generators shutting down under loads..but no one has complained to me about their...
actually, hooking up the 16 ckt switch is even easier in some cases than the whole house, as yo dont need to kill utility power or move service feeders. also, 14 kw will be hydraulic valves and use maybe 25% less gas flow.. or there abouts.
not starlink related,,,,, and,im not sure these were posted before or not, but its a youtube video with elon musk walking thru spacex facility. about 3 hours long...but amazing video.
I honestly dont understand how anyone shops on walmart online. I was looking for dentastix for my dog as costco was out. Costco sells 55 pack of large for $16.99, usually also on sale for $6 off of this price.
went to wallmart online. $49.70…..for 62 pack.
went to tractor supply, got a...
I had a Schlage keypad lock on my tackroom fail after 6 years. Has a lifetime warranty. I contacted them, they sent me a new one. No freight charge either
Its a similar item called a mixer assembly. Sits to the side of the motor. Has stepper motor attached to it. Cant see the inner workings, but they dont fall apart like some older units, that sat on top of the motor.
No, you can get a smaller generator and instead of installing a whole house switch, install the smaller 16 circuit switch. Place transfer switch next to house panel and move circuits that you want powered. Not everyone wants entire house backed up.
first off, i must say i used to install Generac units, and i still do service on them. The new series generac units are far and away superior to units 10 years or older…many major upgrades. I now solely offer generac air cooled service and i no longer install. That said, units serviced at least...
Doesnt matter who installs it….if its a deal with 7 or 10 year warranty, you still get warranty even if you purchase from home depot. Only catch is, if its installed incorrectly and that causes failure, its on your dime.
i have to do full service on my tractor this spring, after i remove all snow equipment. going to remove loader and clean all piviot points on it again. all greasy and filthy again.
Upon doing more research, i find out starlink antenna needs so much coear sky and even a single tree will degrade it. Is there an app that can check if i have enough visible sky? I have lots of trees. Id loke to know before i commit to purchasing.
it appears to have a phase arrey type of...
I order lots of stuff from amazon, and have had amazon prime for many years. Always pays for itself. We also watch amazon prime streaming alot.
but, if they keep raising prices like there doing, i may cancel soon. Dont care if its for their movies and shows there producing. Enough already.
I have always done my own maintenance, except when front seal went out on axle. The dealer quoted me a price to replace both side at such a good price, wasnt worth my time to mess with.
I personally hate icy, twisting driveways. One think i love on my place is flat access roads. Our neighbor has a hill to climb to house…..gets real slippery when snow melts and freeze follows. This yeaar the ambulance had to chain up to get to house.
I have no problem with that. I worked for years to pay off my college loans, but i paid them off. By all means, lets just say, dont honor your words. You agreed to pay back loan. Do it.
why should i pay their loan off.
lot to learn about these drones. i only learned today that the batteries self deenergize if left unused for 9 days to extend their life. i was wondering why the batteries were all at 50% after charging them last month. i dont use it much in the cold winter.
luckily, i dont have to deal with drifting snow. the trees block the wind. there are a few roads on our association that get drifted so bad you cant tell where the road is. but i let someone else worry about that.
mind you, i didnt build this. i purchased it.
there are a few holes in the blade and in the swings with a bar that swaps between the set of holes. one set holds it open. one set holds it closed.
Mine is read from some office. I actually called in one time and had them tell me what they are seeing, while i had a clamp on meter hooked up. The homeowner was complaining about high power use he wasnt using…
their readings matched mine…he was using it. Some old freezers and refrig units in...
