    Turfs work good on snow, especially if it’s paved underneath and they also work good on finished lawns. Ag tires are the best otherwise and industrial are the toughest.

    The way to test the starter in the tractor would be to go straight to the starter with a hot jumper wire to the battery. Don’t ask me how to do this in a safe manner though.

    I’m going to go with several others, 16 to 18 feet, two 3500 pound axles, for a total capacity of 7000 pounds and brakes. If you have just the tractor on it the trailer will look huge. If you have the FEL on and an implement on the back then it won’t look so ridiculous.

    The Kubota BX I owned several years ago was self bleeding. When I added a remote filter I drained the fuel lines several times messing with it and took a little longer to start but not much. Just cycling the key a couple of times without trying to start it is enough.

    I think it depends on the generator to and how it’s used. Mine is a portable and runs just a couple of hours a year on average. It holds 6 gallons of gas. I just don’t use it enough to keep fresh fuel in it.

    I bought a mulching for the 60” deck when I owned a BX2350. I got mine from Kubota but that was about 17 years ago. It came with blades, a block off and baffling. It worked pretty good.

    I looked up where the suction screen is and it’s sort of behind the wheel on the left side, I don’t think you mistake a leak there for the filter leaking.

    I don’t think there is a vent on the Racor but I’m not sure. BX’s are self bleeding so if it is a vent I never used it. The Racor is setup so you can plumb it in different ways so there are more openings than you need, the extras are just plugged.

    If you don’t have a sump with oil, you have to mix oil with the fuel. Saws, weed eaters, pole saws etc end up at weird angles so an oil pick up and traditional sump won’t work.

    I’ve owned a MS 261 for a few years now with a 18” bar. I have to make an effort to bog down cutting big wood. I think Stihl says a 20” bar is the recommended maximum. The oiler is adjustable also so you can turn it up a little.

    Ack, I’m having a recurring nightmare after reading this. I just got through messing with a friends tiller with a similar setup. Oldnslo is correct, on his I’d have to take the tank off and tilt it and the carb just right to get the linkage disconnected.

    If you have a load tester I’d test the battery even though it’s new, probably not the problem. How is the fuel filters? A good running diesel shouldn’t need glow plugs to start when it’s warm out.

    Just my experience with smaller cuts and scuts, the hour meter records the time the tractor is running. In other words it doesn’t matter how hard it’s being worked. This may vary by brand. I sure wouldn’t be afraid of a low hour 4 year old tractor.

    Sort of. I think it’s actually powered from the camshaft. There are two shafts coming out of the engine, the normal one that is the crankshaft, then a second one that someone posted is an extension of the cam shaft. I haven’t taken it apart to verify that but it sure looks to be the case.

    First off if you buy a JD backhoe it is a 3 point backhoe so to speak, sort of, it just goes on a subframe. I’ve never owned a true 3 point backhoe and don’t know if they are really a problem or not.

    Yes I’m getting corrosion on my spreader and rinse it off. I also rinse my tractor off and no problems there. I’m only using it for spreading fertilizer once a year on about 2 acres.

    No longer than it takes I pulled the head. Neither valve will spin when fully closed. I liked that idea but I don’t think that’s it. I should also add that there is a small chamber under the short intake tube under the carb. That chamber is filling with gas on its own.

    Hopefully you can wiggle it back and forth and get it near the tailgate, then stomp the gas and it will unload itself. :D Do you have ramps, hopefully long ones? If you’re careful you might get it down a set of ramps.

    My knowledge of generators is pretty limited, I know in theory they should spin 3600 rpm’s to give 60 cycle but I imagine there is a way to build them for half speed. Mine screams at 3600 rpm’s is why I say it’s nice to be half speed.

    Arly I went on Kubota and did a “build” on that tractor, it was about $63,000. The snow blower alone is about $7k. That’s considered a Grand L and would be a nice rig. Edit, if it has a backhoe I didn’t do that on Kubota’s build, that would add several thousand more.

    The Kubota BX is noticeably smaller than a 1 series JD. I owned a BX2350 for about 10 years and put 800 hours on it, solid little tractors. I added a better fuel filter to it and had to fix a loss of steering with a new seal but it was pretty trouble free.

    They weren’t suppose to go under the bridge at all, I believe they lost power and the current took them into the bridge. It’s a newer tall ship and pretty large, built in the early 1980’s. I’m pretty sure it would have a pretty substantial engine.

    The 1 series JD’s use aluminum for the transaxle but so do several other makers. There are two distinct size frames in the 2 series, the 2025r vs the 2032r and 2038r. I believe the 1023e and the 1025r are built on the same size frame but I’m not 100% sure.
