I had a BX2350 for 10 years and mowed with a 60” deck with a mulch kit. If you have a golf course quality yard probably not good enough for you but for most people it cuts pretty good.

You could add a deck to your current BX I’d think. The end loader comes off easy enough and I’m sure with practice the BH would too.

For mostly mowing I’d go with the JD.

The way to test the starter in the tractor would be to go straight to the starter with a hot jumper wire to the battery. Don’t ask me how to do this in a safe manner though.

I own a 2025r and like it but I’d probably recommend at least a 2032r or a 3 series R instead. The newer auto connect decks are really nice.

I’d start out by load testing the battery. I know jumping it makes you think it’s not the battery and it probably not but everyone should have a load tester. JD’s are known for having batteries that act like you describe or just suddenly die. Depending on what’s wrong with the battery...

Usually if you set the height knob all the way up that does it. There is usually a setting past the highest cut setting and it has some kind of symbol for locked up.

Arly no matter what tractor you get it seems you will run into something that you wish it would lift but won’t. A 3033r had pretty decent lift capacity so yes it will do trail work.

Did you take the quick connects off and back on just to make sure they are seated. I’ve owned a tractor 14 years and twice I’ve not got them seated. They 100% look ok and won’t pull loose but aren’t on correctly. I’ve actually had things work backwards when this happens.

I had never run a gear tractor until a few months ago. It wasn’t bad to run at all. I think for most homeowners an hst is better, myself included but there is nothing wrong with a gear tractor either.

I have a northern tool sprayer, it has a pair of broadcast sprayer nozzles and a spray wand. It works pretty good after I fixed a couple of leaks. I set it on a cheap carry all on my 3 point but it’s not really a 3 point sprayer.

You can turn your blade around, you just have to take it off to do it.

On another forum it was pointed out a hose clamp is missing. I think what I saw when I first looked is a hose on the right, mostly painted green, and the fitting on the left that the hose slid off.

The Kubota BX I owned several years ago was self bleeding. When I added a remote filter I drained the fuel lines several times messing with it and took a little longer to start but not much. Just cycling the key a couple of times without trying to start it is enough.

Is there a vent hole in that starter with some smoke stains around it? It’s probably the camera angle but it almost looks like the starter is sagging down on the left side.

I think it depends on the generator to and how it’s used. Mine is a portable and runs just a couple of hours a year on average. It holds 6 gallons of gas. I just don’t use it enough to keep fresh fuel in it.

If you have 2000 lbs at your pins you’re not even close to 2000 lbs 4 feet out. Counterweight is critical for safety but adds nothing to your lift capacity.

In my experience if you don’t keep the grass mostly out of your gravel it gradually starts to end up looking more like dirt.

I bought a mulching for the 60” deck when I owned a BX2350. I got mine from Kubota but that was about 17 years ago. It came with blades, a block off and baffling. It worked pretty good.

Do you know what the spec is for pressure at the loader? That sounds low but it could be that’s spec for your tractor.

I looked up where the suction screen is and it’s sort of behind the wheel on the left side, I don’t think you mistake a leak there for the filter leaking.

I don’t think there is a vent on the Racor but I’m not sure. BX’s are self bleeding so if it is a vent I never used it. The Racor is setup so you can plumb it in different ways so there are more openings than you need, the extras are just plugged.

If you don’t have a sump with oil, you have to mix oil with the fuel. Saws, weed eaters, pole saws etc end up at weird angles so an oil pick up and traditional sump won’t work.

I’m pretty sure they do have a suction screen, which can get pretty clogged. I don’t know if that coukd cause the filter to keep blowing off.

I’d get some kind of filter setup without all the extra lines.

I have a Stihl HT101 pole saw that is a 4 stroke. So far it’s been pretty solid for me other than it’s a little heavy.

I’ve got a rear wheel drive Lawnboy and at times had trouble getting the wheels to unlock so I could drag it backwards. I’ve given up on it as I can’t get it to run consistently.

I’m also not a fan of the rotary dial. For some reason it’s better for me on my wife’s car where it’s in the console. When we had Rams at work the dial on the dash bothered me.

I’ve owned a MS 261 for a few years now with a 18” bar. I have to make an effort to bog down cutting big wood. I think Stihl says a 20” bar is the recommended maximum. The oiler is adjustable also so you can turn it up a little.

If you have a load tester I’d test the battery even though it’s new, probably not the problem. How is the fuel filters? A good running diesel shouldn’t need glow plugs to start when it’s warm out.

Just my experience with smaller cuts and scuts, the hour meter records the time the tractor is running. In other words it doesn’t matter how hard it’s being worked. This may vary by brand. I sure wouldn’t be afraid of a low hour 4 year old tractor.

Sort of. I think it’s actually powered from the camshaft. There are two shafts coming out of the engine, the normal one that is the crankshaft, then a second one that someone posted is an extension of the cam shaft. I haven’t taken it apart to verify that but it sure looks to be the case.

I actually worked on a couple of projects where we improved emergency spillways with reventmat mat. These were for pretty good sized lakes. Does this pond even have any kind of constructed spillway at all.

We just had someone and his dog get killed by a train in our area. He was on a 4 wheeler and got it stuck and was trying to get it off the tracks.

First off if you buy a JD backhoe it is a 3 point backhoe so to speak, sort of, it just goes on a subframe. I’ve never owned a true 3 point backhoe and don’t know if they are really a problem or not.

Yes I’m getting corrosion on my spreader and rinse it off. I also rinse my tractor off and no problems there. I’m only using it for spreading fertilizer once a year on about 2 acres.

No longer than it takes I pulled the head. Neither valve will spin when fully closed. I liked that idea but I don’t think that’s it. I should also add that there is a small chamber under the short intake tube under the carb. That chamber is filling with gas on its own.

John Deere’s Auto Connect mower decks truly are easy off and on. They do have to be set up correctly.

I use Benadryl for allergies, 1 or 2 a night. It helps with poison ivy a little bit but not much.

My knowledge of generators is pretty limited, I know in theory they should spin 3600 rpm’s to give 60 cycle but I imagine there is a way to build them for half speed. Mine screams at 3600 rpm’s is why I say it’s nice to be half speed.

You don’t want anything under the liner that is the least bit sharp. I think ours had a pad under the liner but it wasn’t that thick.

I’d get someone in to break the ground up for you the first time, then do it yourselves with a tiller after that. A 2 acre garden is huge by the way.

Arly I went on Kubota and did a “build” on that tractor, it was about $63,000. The snow blower alone is about $7k. That’s considered a Grand L and would be a nice rig. Edit, if it has a backhoe I didn’t do that on Kubota’s build, that would add several thousand more.

The Kubota BX is noticeably smaller than a 1 series JD. I owned a BX2350 for about 10 years and put 800 hours on it, solid little tractors. I added a better fuel filter to it and had to fix a loss of steering with a new seal but it was pretty trouble free.

They weren’t suppose to go under the bridge at all, I believe they lost power and the current took them into the bridge. It’s a newer tall ship and pretty large, built in the early 1980’s. I’m pretty sure it would have a pretty substantial engine.

The 1 series JD’s use aluminum for the transaxle but so do several other makers. There are two distinct size frames in the 2 series, the 2025r vs the 2032r and 2038r. I believe the 1023e and the 1025r are built on the same size frame but I’m not 100% sure.

Kubota BX’s and JD 1 series are very common used and are solid tractors.

Keeping mind I know nothing about welding but am into cars. Someone I know who restores cars and does his own bodywork says he just welds a short bead, then moves to another area, welds a short area, and so on. This keeps any one area from getting to hot. You probably already know this though.

The amount of separation in that jar almost makes it seem like it left the plant like that. There is only so much room in a full 5 gallon bucket for water to leak in. I assume somewhere there is a huge bulk tank these buckets get filled from, maybe that was the bottom of the barrel.
