3-Point Hitch  HF Quick Hitch to Bush Hog problem

Just picked up a Harbor Freight quick hitch. I put it on my tractor (Kubota L3400) and I'm having an issue with the top connector. Either the hook on the QH needs to go up, or I need to rework the mower hitch. Am I missing something? Pic attached.

    Cover recommendations for GT52XLS

I just got this mower and while it will be parked under a roof during the mowing season, I would like to put a cover over it to keep the paint from fading. Any recommendations?

    Just ordered a GTH52XLS

Getting the version with the Kawasaki engine. I really wanted the GT48DXLS, but Messicks couldn't find any. As always, Messicks treated me well, hopefully I avoided a price increase by ordering now.

Pulled the trigger on a new F150 today.

Lariat, super crew, 4x4, 6.5' bed, 3.5 ecoboost. Since I retired in December, we decided we don't need two vehicles anymore. I really thought I would get another Silverado and tried out the High Country. Very nice, but my wife liked the seat in the Ford better. Both are beautiful trucks. Details...

    Kudos to Messicks!

Stopped in for some advice and a few parts yesterday. As always, the guy at the counter was extremely helpful. I asked him if he knew the torque specs for some bolts that I needed to remove and he printed out the page from the service manual for me. I mentioned that I wished I had the service...

L3400 Hydro Leak found, advice on fixing

So, I think I finally found the source of my hydro leak. Initially thought it was coming from the vent under the seat, but upon further exploration it appears to be coming from the joint where the hydraulic case cover is bolted onto the transmission (see breakdown). My question is what type...

I was mowing today when I saw him. He didn't seem scared, injured or unhealthy. I can't believe he let me get close enough to smash him with the bucket.

Rear Finish Mower  Bought a new (to me) Bush Hog Finish mower today

Seems to be a real heavy duty unit. Much better than the King Kutter I'm currently using. The gearbox was full of clean oil. As soon as this heat wave breaks, I'll grease her up and do some mowing. Sorry about the blurry pics, it's so muggy here that the camera lens fogged up! Oh, the next...

Considering ground-source heat pump, advice or suggestions?

We have a salesman coming tomorrow to talk to us about a ground source heat pump. We currently have 2 conventional heat pumps with an oil-fired furnace as a backup. I know there are several threads on this topic, I'm just wondering if there are specific questions I should ask or any other...

    Oxygen/acetylene tank sizes

Backhoe  Big job for my little hoe

Did some digging for a friend who wanted to waterproof his basement. Put in 12 hours and have 4 or 5 more to go. It was probably too much material to move for my setup, the hoe bucket is just too small.

Crazy idea for a welding table?

OK, I have been wanting a welding table for quite a while now. I'm tired of welding on the floor or using my workmate which has been known to catch on fire from time to time. I have limited space, so it will have to double as a work bench. I have a piece of 3/8" plate 24" x 79". My crazy...

    Backhoe  Subframe for 3pt backhoe

I have a Kubota L3400 and a BL4690 3pt. backhoe. I don't use the hoe very often, but would prefer to convert the hoe to subframe mount. I recently ran across a Kubota kit #L4691 that appears to do just that. Questions: Does anyone have any experience with this kit? Does the installation of...

Moved up to Super UDT2 today in my L3400

I bit the bullet and bought 7.5 gallons of the Super UDT2 ($160) and the filters. It was too rainy to do anything outside so I changed the fluid & filters. Had enough SUDT2 to put it in the front axle too. I'll provide observations if it ever stops raining long enough to put it to work.

Well, I guess it had to happen sooner or later

My '03 Chevy Duramax needs a set of injectors after 162,000 miles. Guess I may be lucky, I have seen many people who after that many miles are on their 3rd set.:thumbdown: A 3K expenditure I wasn't planning on!

    Just bought a new welder!

Tractor Supply had the Hobart Handler 140 mig welder on sale for $469.99, plus I got a 10% discount coupon online. Too good to pass up. I want to get a tank of Argon/CO2 gas. What size tank would you recommend (I don't do a lot of welding) and approximately, what is the cost? :dance1...

    Pimped by Mother Nature again!

With apologies to my friends in Boston, I was really excited to see the forecast calling for 6"-10" of snow...as it turns out, we only got 3" or 4". I really want at least one big snow to put my Kubota to the test, time is running out. :( :(

I bought a 7.5' Myers plow that I want to modify to attach to the bucket of my Kubota L3400. Right now, it just looks like a bunch of rusty steel. Of course I ran out of gas for my torch this morning. May have to buy a bigger set of tanks. :o

Rear Finish Mower  King Kutter Spindle bearing

Well, I kinda hate to admit this :ashamed:, but I thought my 6' King Kutter finish mower seemed a little noisy. A few weeks ago, I pulled the belt off and all the pulleys seemed to turn freely, so I put it back together and kept mowing. Last week I pulled the belt again and did a more thorough...

Why are "newer" vehicles so hard to work on?

My wife called me Tuesday to say that the local Ford dealer had finished inspecting her '06 Lincoln Zephyr. BL4690B Backhoe Performance

Finally got an opportunity to put the backhoe to the test. I dug a 60' x 24" trench and dug out a few stumps. The hoe seems "sluggish", i.e. on other backhoes I have run, I can "shake" the bucket to remove dirt and debris that didn't fall out during a normal dump. This hoe is not snappy...

    1st time using 2 bottom plow w/L3400

    Another toolbox solution (L3400)

I looked at several toolbox ideas and finally came up with this one. I happened to have the toolbox laying around (that's why it is so dirty). I mounted it on the cross member that runs between the fenders by welding 2 1/8" by 1" x 5" pieces of flat steel across the support and then running...

    Opinons on an L3400HST w/backhoe

I'm looking for a backhoe to use on my 15 acre property. I like the idea of being able to remove the hoe and use standard 3pt attachments, i.e. 5' bush hog & 6' finish mower in case my 464 IH utility tractor breaks down.
