    Bent a Wheel!

I can't figure out how this would have happened just plowing snow in the driveway; nevertheless, here we are: It will hold air at 30+PSI, but not below 10PSI. The local alignment shop says they can straighten it out no problem. Worst case put a tube in.... We'll see!

    PT-1850 Cold Blooded Deutz

I always loved that the Yanmars in the JDs start up without any hesitation even on the darkest, coldest winter days... This is not the case with my deutz. This winter, I have developed this painful procedure of: hooking up the battery charger (To a new, 6-month-old battery that is not...

    PT woes..... 1850 wiring

So, the 1850 and I haven't really been getting along lately. Every time I go mowing, something goes wrong. I attribute a lot of it to "working out the kinks," but today's escapades have left me a little defeated. Last time I mowed, it was very hot out. I saw high engine temps (220F+) after...

    PT-1850 on the HIll!

I joined about 7 years ago when I bought my John Deere 430, but have been pretty quiet since.... On Sunday, I just brought home a 2005 or 6 PT-1850 with a pile of attachments, which I know very little about, besides it took 2 trailers to move! In the background, you can see a portion of the...

    JD 430 Front Hydraulics

I'm not sure if this belongs here or in the Hydraulics section, so mods, feel free to move it. I have an '86 John Deere 430 Lawn and Garden tractor. It has 2 sets of hydraulic ports in the front. They are used for raising and lowering and tilting/turning front implements. Does anyone know the...

    JD 430 attachments

I have an '86 430 and have been looking for attachments, with marginal success. For the front, I have a line on an OEM frame extension mount and a recently manufactured one so I'm not worried about that. Though thats where my confidence ends. The dealers around here are helpful to a degree, but...

    Forums Drop-down Menu

I am unable to reach the Ventrac Forum via the drop down menu in the top bar as it is not listed in the 'other brands' sub-menu. It seems the only way to get to it is to click on the 'Forums' tab and scroll through the list of forums. Not complaining, just letting you know it was missing.

    B&S Fail

My father has a nice, 2 year old Husqvarna 23hp garden tractor with a 48" deck that has seen only regular to light service since he has owned it (~90hrs) mowing 2 acres of lawn. Last week, he leaned down to pick up a dog toy from the yard and the "safety switch" on the seat cut the tractor off...

    Ventrac Demo Day!!

Well, we aren't exactly batting 1000... I was putting the 4231TD with the toughcut through its paces when the deck started smoking.... A combination of vines, dirt clods and pricker bushes had jammed up one of the blades. We cleaned it out and started it back up and the drive belt on the...

    Steiner and Ventrac Attachments

Both the Steiner and the Ventrac machine appear to have very similar front lift systems. Are their attachments interchangeable? Given the different series of both manufacturers, weights of attachments, power, etc., it would be the larger of the machines, Steiner 525 / Ventrac 4xxx. Also, does...

    Hello from NH!

Hi everyone! I grew up on a small farm and have been around tractors and machinery all my life. My wife and I moved around a little, but finally made our way back home and recently bought a home that needed a lot of work. We have got the house almost up to our standards over the winter, and now...
