    Landscape Rake for PT1850

I find myself in need of a landscape rake for my PT1850 for prepping a newly cleared hillside pasture. Power Trac only makes a light duty yard rake. I spoke with service at Power Trac and was told my best bet was to get an extra attachment mounting plate and weld it to the existing landscape...

Rear end weight and lift capacity on gasoline PT1430s

So, I went ahead and purchased a PT1430 for my do-it-all home/residential machine/mower. This is a new machine with the 37 hp gasoline Kohler Command Pro engine (and green paint). The machine has the same specified lift capacity, lift height, and FEL as my PT1850 (1,200 lbs. to 6 ft.) When I...

    PT 1850 mower stopped suddenly.

Mowing today and the PT1850 mower stopped suddenly. It just spun down and stopped. Blades and hydraulic mower motor turn freely. At first I suspected PTO electric issue, but then noticed slight to moderate engine rpm drop when PTO switch was turned on. No significant new leaks. Any suggestions?

    PT1850 Tilt Seat Issues

I just finished up a suspension install on my PT1850 using a Trac Seat suspension kit. The suspension is wider than the standard seat setup, so the rotating mounting plate had to be modified (widened). https://tracseats.com/shop/ols/products/seat-suspension-kit-for-zero-turn-lawn-mowers Got...

    PT1850 Burst Hose Replacement

I had a hose burst on my PT1850 while mowing a few days back. The first symptom was that reverse disappeared, but it still moved forward. Then mower stopped, so I shut it down realizing she was bleeding to death. Turns out it is hose #26 in the diagram running from the main system pump up to...

    PT1850 Brush Cutter Belt Routing

I thought I had seen a diagram of the brush cutter belt routing somewhere, but can't locate it now. I'm replacing a broken belt on the PT1850 brush cutter for the first time. I think I remember how it is routed, but it would be nice to have the routing diagram to be sure. I believe this is...

    PT1850 Wheels (Rims)

Does anyone know if the original rims on the PT1850 can be sourced in the aftermarket. I believe they are GNK rims.

PT1850 Tilt Seat Mercury Switch Adjustment

The tilt base for the seat on my PT1850 cracked off at the upper cylinder mount. After the repair, the seat seems to work fine, but it tilts slightly when sitting on level ground (as verified by the clinometer). There isn't any adjustment on the tilt seat base itself, so I'm thinking the...

    Alternative Power in PT1430

I saw a listing for a PT1430 online. The photo shows a water cooled Lister-Petter 3 cylinder diesel installed. I thought all of this model had the 2-cylinder Deutz until the recent switch to a gas motor on that model due to emissions restrictions making the F2L Deutz unavailable. .

Who manufactures the oil cooler on the PT1850

Does anyone know the manufacturer of the hydraulic oil cooler (mounted on top of the engine cover) used on the PT1850. I may need to replace the one on my machine and would like to go directly to the source if possible. There is a sticker on the cooler on my machine, but it is too old and...

    PT1850 Replacement Tires

I am now planning to replace the tires on my PT1850. I bought the machine used and it came with 10 ply trencher style tires. I have now started using the machine on steeper slopes and need the full performance of the machine. I have been looking at the OTR Lawn Trac which appears to be a...

    PT1850 Tramming Issue

Recently I had my PT1850 back to the factory to track down a leak, - which ended up being a leaking seal on the system pump. The shop rebuilt the pump and did a few other odds and ends (replaced worn center link bushings, sorted out electrical issues). The main hydraulic filter was replaced in...

    PT1850 Mulcing Blade Options?

I recall reading a thread in this forum on mulching blade options for the PT1850 rough cut mower. However, I can't find the references. Does anyone have any info? The mower seems to work great in "bush hog" type applications, but when I mow taller regular grass it tends to lay it down like a...

    PT1850 Tire Pressure - 10 Ply Tires

My recently acquired PT1850 came with 10-ply 26x12-12 trencher type tires. These are Samson brand, which a tire website suggests have a max inflation of 65 psi. I'm trying to decide what pressure to run. When I took delivery, the tire pressures ranged from 2 psi to 18 psi. I am thinking...

    PT1850 Temp Gauge

AT what temperature does the PT1850 engine typically run? The gauge seems to be marked in 30 degree increments on the bottom half (100-tick mark-160), but 40 degree increments on the top half (160-tick mark-240). So far my machine is running a little above the tick mark between 160 and 240...

PT1850 Deutz Fan Blower Jacket Question - Rubber "Flat Gasket"

As this is the first Deutz engine powered piece of equipment I've owned, I'm very much in the steep part of the learning curve. The used PT1850 I purchased had a cracked "Blower Jacket" with most of the outer ring missing from an apparent accident backing into something and denting the rear of...

    PT1850 Mowing Techinique

What is the recommended approach to the managing the mower's height when mowing with the PT1850. I was thinking to use the lift to keep the mower just barely suspended with the wheels making contact. However, a buddy whose livelihood is heavy equipment told me I should have the mower running...

    PT1850 Hydraulic Oil Cooler Fan

Greetings All, Just purchased a used PT1850. The unit came with no manuals, but I ordered one from PT. However, the manual doesn't include a wiring diagram. Could someone explain the fan set up to me. It looks like the cooling fan is wired into a solenoid with wires heading back toward the...
