Rear Finish Mower  Recs for new trailmower that's not Swisher

My old Swisher 66 trailmower is now dead. I had a good run with it, but it was fickle and I wasn't a big fan of all the repairs from things that shouldn't have broken (including the welds). Now I need a new trailmower for my orchard. I cut about 12 acres every other week with the trailmower...

Rear Finish Mower  changing blades/working under Swisher 66 trail mower

I'm trying to figure out a better way to clean out the grass from underneath my Swisher 66" trail mower and find a way to change the blades. I've been jacking it up and using cinderblocks but that isn't the safest. It's too heavy for me to push onto it's side and the front wheels rotate/twist...

Rear Finish Mower  Belts won't disengage Swisher Trailmower

I've got a Swisher 66 inch Trailmower and the mower belts gave out. Last time this happened I put new belts on and had no problems. When I put the belts on and tried them this time, though, they kept turning when I disengaged the mower blades. They're not running full speed when this happens...

    anyone use a JD 2305 with a wallenstein bx42?

After hearing a lot about stand alone chippers and PTO chippers I think I'm now leaning toward the Wallenstein BX42. But it would be used with my JD 2305. I know different JD models have had success with this, but wanted to see if any 2305 owners had success with the BX42. It'd be for...

    non pto wood chipper help

Every year when I prune my orchard I usually burn the limbs that folks don't use for smoking. But as I get older I'm finding that the piling/dragging is taking longer and longer (and taking more of a toll on my body). I've only got about 800 trees and the diameter of the cut limbs is anything...

Rear Finish Mower  help with 66 inch swisher trailmower belts

The belts on my Swisher 66 Inch T2066 broke after about a year of use (in not that tall of grass) and I need to change them. I was hoping to do it myself like I do with my JD mid-mount mower belt, but this one isn't that easy. If anyone has ever changed one of these out, and advice is...

    JD 2305 PTO problem

When spraying my orchard tonite using my JD 2305's rear PTO for my sprayer the power started to die on my tractor. I sprayed the first block (45 minutes) with no problem. When I went to spray the next two blocks, the power dropped down on the tractor every 10 minutes or so. When this...

Oil & Fuel  Oil leak on JD 2305

My 2305 has been sitting for about a month at my orchard, but I noticed today that it was leaking clean oil. Not a heavy drip, and it was coming from around the middle of the front axle. I started the machine and it wouldn't drip. Was this from sitting? Or is a seal/gasket shot somewhere? I...

    PTO--does on/off hurt engine

Does shutting the pto on and off hurt the tractor's engine? I have to shut it off on about half of my turns at my orchard (ground is severely uneven in these spots) and didn't know if it would hurt the engine. In three hours of spraying I probably turn it on and off about 20 times.

    PTO extender help

I switched from an self-contained engine driven sprayer, to a pto driven sprayer. My JD 2305 hooks up to the new sprayer, but the overlap of the male and female pto is only about 3 inches (a bit more on the turn). The sprayer manual says it's safe at 2 inches of overlap, but I wanted to extend...
