    Cannot keep the 422 running

Last time I cut the grass it was very hot and at the end of the job(1 hour) the 422 just stalled out. Started right up and ran a bit and stalled again, figured it was so hot that after an hour it vapor locked. But today I'm getting the same thing and it's very cool and the engine is cold too. It...

I may have lost my only key for the 422

I procrastinated in getting a duplicte key made and now I may have to do something since it's been 2 days and my keys have not shown up. Are these keys unique to the tractor? Better yet, can the ignition switch be replaced with a push button type and eliminate the key?

Anybody replace the stock seat on a 422 or 425?

My stock seat was never the greatest on my back and now it's about worn out(the seat & my back!). Would like to replace with a seat that has some suspension since the 422 doesn't have any besides the tires. Hoping to find one that doesn't require a lot of modification to fit.

    PT422 parts free, well almost

I have a stock muffler for the Robin EH65 engine and the stock seat belts. Hoping somebody can use these. All I ask is a few bucks toward shipping which shouldn't be much. If you can use these send a pm with address.

    8 amp draw too much?

My side exhaust fan needs to be replaced. I can't seem to find the exact model I have from one of previous emails but have found a decent fan on Amazon. Is the 7" fan I found with an 8 amp draw too much for my PT422?

Oil filler cap came off...ever happen to you?

Man, what a mess! Was cutting the grass last night and when parking her in the garage I noticed oil splatter on the engine cage cover. inside the cage oil everywhere! Traction  Lost power to right front wheel

Was running the finish mower today. Cut some hills and paths for about an hour and let her sit to cool down. About an hour later I started on the yard and noticed something didn't feel right, esp when trying to reverse. Eventually it got to the point where I could not go forward or back, right...

Now what's wronmg with my Robin engine?

I have about 200 hours since the valve job. She's been running great. Today I was about 20 minutes into what I was hoping would be the last grass cutting of the year and suddenly I was losing power and it started backfiring. Tried to coax it to the garage but no go, could not even make it up a...

    Broke another wheel motor axle

Last year(I think it was) while mowing on a the side of a hill I snapped the left wheel motor axle. I have many slopes to navigate and try to avoid going 3 wheels but sometimes it's hard to do. Sent it back to Tazewell and they promptly rebuilt it for me. Well last Wednesday I broke the other...

    I have a love-hate relationship with my PT422

This tractor has saved me a lot of back breaking work for sure. Also has saved me space since this 1 unit performs the functions of several. I am totally lost as to why I've had to pay for/perform so many repairs on a unit with around 800 total hours. I perform all maintenance as required and...

As had been suggested severeal times in the past, I recently installed a CFR brand exhaust fan(Amazon.com: CFR Performance 8" High Performance Electric Radiator Cooling Fan - Flat Blade: Automotive) onto the PT 422's battery side of my tub cage. I am not satisfied with the air movement it is...

    48" mower deck belt

Much to my surprise, my belt lasted through last season. Just cut the grass last week again and I know I'm on borrowed time. I'm without my 422 for awhile.......

Some time ago I posted about a problem with oil being pushed into the air filter. I always get a...

    A few finish mower questions

I do not recall, but does anybody know the length of the belt on the 48" deck? Mine is looking a bit shabby and thinking having a replacement on hand would be a good idea. I know, I could just take it off and have my answer. Regarding the hard plastic rear wheels.....what has been done to...

Mower blade orientation make a difference?

I remove my blades a few times each year. Sometimes for sharpening and other times I install some old beat up blades when I plan to mow pasture or trails. Anybody making a purchase from Tazewell this spring?

Probably will be picking up the light material bucket for my 422 in May...shipping cost is almost as much as the bucket itself! Need to change low mileage synthetic oil?

I've been told by those that certainly know a lot more about oil than I do that my 86 F250 should have the oil changed about every 6 months even though I probably don't exceed even 1k miles per year. I kinda understand this due to (I think) loss in viscosity in aged dino oil, but I also have a...

Lost my steering today, tub failure

    No mowing for a bit

Moving the fuel pump on a 422/425

It makes sense to move the fuel pump to an area of less heat. For those that have done this, where did you relocate it to? Does the location need to be an apprx same height as original location in relation to the carb or fuel tank outlet?

    Chains  V-bar tire chains
