Power Beyond or HPCO valve help needed

The original adapter I built had a 1/4 NPT internal thread, but no standard hydraulic fittings are available to fit a 3/8 hose. A 3/8 NPT would work, but the wall thickness would be rather thin, so I changed the design and used a O-ring seal type fitting with a 9/16-18 thread. This will...

Power Beyond or HPCO valve help needed

I just took the Gesen V12 valve apart and built a power beyond adapter to fit it. I posted several photos and a dimensioned drawing in my photo album, Bobs Backhoe on this site. I will put it back together and test it in a few days if the weather holds out. Hopefully this will avoid the problems...

Power Beyond or HPCO valve help needed

I think I finally found an explanation that I could understand. This will probably be obvious to those familiar with hydraulics, but it really helped me understand what "power beyond" is all about. First I checked my backhoe and found it has a Gresen series V12 valve. I contacted Parker...

Is there a Hyd valve that works with a steering wheel?

Char-Lynn makes several such valves, as well as other manufacturers. They are rather pricey however. You might check the auto salvage yards in your area. I think most auto power steering columns have something similar to what you are describing, and it should be much cheaper.

    Satoh S650G Maintenance Parts Info

It appears that this engine was not used in any cars imported into the US. All Mazdas I have found had larger displacement engines. This is actually a 987 cc engine, and I recently purchased a head gasket from a dealer in Australia. He has some other engine parts such as pistons, bearings...

New member with Satoh S650g Bison

Hello all, I live in Colorado, on a two acre property. I am a retired electrical engineer and enjoy all sorts of DIY projects. I purchased a Satoh S650G "Bison" tractor used a couple of years ago. The tractor came with a front end loader (FEL) and several 3 point attachments. I since have added...

Power Beyond or HPCO valve help needed

Thanks for the tip. Yes, I think some of them are just water pipe fittings. I need to upgrade them although some have been in service for years now. They are not very expensive to buy the correct ones. Bob

Power Beyond or HPCO valve help needed

Thank you for the info JJ. I have more information now. The 3 point system is plumbed in as part of the tractor and it is not easy to access the hydraulic line between it and the pump. The fluid from the 3 point goes to the "block" I mentioned previously, shown in the photo below. The two lines...

Power Beyond or HPCO valve help needed

Thank you KennyD and JJ for your replies. I did find a website saying I should connect open center valves in series, so I did that. Now it works more or less correctly, exept the FEL tends to raise slowly when I use the BH. I am also experiencing leakage somewhere in the spool valve for the FEL...

Power Beyond or HPCO valve help needed

I have a Satoh S650G, a.k.a. "Bison" with a front end loader (FEL). The tractor has a hydraulic system that raises the 3 point hitch. There is a triangular shaped plate under the seat that has two hydraulic lines connecting to the FEL (a pressure line and a return line) control valve. Today I...
