My Backhoe needs and engine rebuild

Ditto. Head gasket would be the most common, hopefully not a cracked block. It would if it was getting into the oil. In this case though it's entering the combustion chamber when the engine is running, so it's getting burnt and making white smoke.

    Massey 65 diesel running rough

Update: I pulled the injectors and found 3 of them had doubled copper sealing washers. I think when I had the head/valve job done the guy didn't see/remove them and they got painted grey so I didn't see them. I removed those and reinstalled the injectors. Same symptoms. So I think this next...

I posted this over on Antique Tractor but figured I'd see if anyone could chime in here. Hoping for some help solving this issue. I have a later model MF65 diesel Perkins AD4-203. It ran great and had good power when I first got it, but with quite a bit of blow-by. The injection pump was...

Pulling a stump jumper off a Land Pride rotary cutter?

In my experience, hammering the end of the shaft (with the nut on to protect it) while you have pressure on the stump jumper, is the best method. Easiest is if you have a FEL or backhoe, flip the whole cutter upside down and pick it up a bit from the stump jumper. Give the shaft a whack or two...

    Ford 555C boom/dipper

Late to the party here but have read the thread with interest, as I had a similar issue on my Case 580C. New Holland TC35S Steering Issues

I don't know anything on the TC35s but I did have the same problem on a Case backhoe. It turned out to be the seal on the top of the steering valve (the entire system is hydraulic) so it couldn't build any pressure when you turned the steering wheel. Might be something to check, depending on...

    Splitting a Massey 65 diesel

    Century/Zetor 50HL parts

Trying to help a friend find some cylinder seals for his Century tractor. It says 50HL on the loader, I think that's a C-50HL? Not sure. Anyway, I've done the usual googling but I can't figure out where to get any parts. Needing seal kits for all the cylinders.

This is common. It's even possible to have two directions for the same mower. Vintage Ford 3400 tractor won’t start

I'm sure someone with that exact tractor will chime in, but some of those older Ford diesels had bleeders on the injection pump. Open it up and crank it till it starts, then close it. Easy. If not, bleeding the injectors isn't too hard. Make sure you throttle it up so it's pumping plenty of...

Steering cylinder / Tie rod removal gc2310

There's no locking mechanism. It is held just by the taper. If you can get some pressure on the top of it to push it back into the hole you might get it held tight enough to spin that nut. An impact wrench helps because it can spin it quickly. If you're not trying to save your tie rod ends, a...

580C blew a seal. What's the best place to get seals and hoses?

Just speaking for the ones I've done: - Some of the loader hoses are 1/2" 4-wire. Again, not a common...

Oil & Fuel Kubota L4600 ran it out of diesel, emptied fuel filter bowl... won't start...

No worries, we're all here to learn and help. On the teardown video pic you had, you were looking at the injector pump. On these tractors fuel is delivered by gravity flow to the injector pump, which then pressurizes the fuel into the steel lines going to the injectors - to put it simply. To...

I've dealt with this on a couple of Kubotas. I'm surprised the bleeder valve didn't work. Usually it will fire right up when you do that, but if they're really dry it can take some cranking. Bleeding the injectors is pretty simple though. Follow thclimer's steps.

    Box blade rippers

Does anyone know where I can find replacement box blade rippers with the notch in the back? I found some with center holes, but can't find any that are back notched. I've got 3 on mine that are bent pretty bad - from ripping stumps out :) Also, how do I tell what quality they are? I'm not too...

Help! Getting off some "super" grease.

Not sure where to post this question, but hopefully this is OK. I did some work in the gearbox on an old hay rake. It is full of very thick, black, heavy grease. Seems a good deal to me but I have no idea about these balers. It's an hour and a half drive for me to get it, so I want to...

I have a Kubota L3710 with a BushHog 2045 mid-mount front end loader. I'm planning on building a tree shear but first need to add a 3rd control for an auxiliary hydraulic hookup on the FEL. Sorry, I don't have much experience with hydraulics so I'm pretty much clueless! The tractor has no...
