    Front drive universal SC2400

While doing a preseason check today on my SC2400, I find the universal on the driveshaft to the front axel is shot. The tractor has just over 400 hours, so this seems to me to be early for such wear. Has anyone else had this problem and what was your experience with replacement parts? It would...

Our new tool box was fastened down using "J" shaped bolts that we made ourselves from 1/2 inch round stock and threaded. Adding Turbo to JD 850

I would be very cautious here. I suspect the 850's engine may not be able to withstand the added stress of turbocharging. I'd find a good JD or Yanmar mechanic to talk to first.

    Weight Distribution Hitch

    Propane Hauler

As a retired LEO and a firefighter, I shiver when I see this level of stupidity. Do these people not see the risk they put the public and themselves in? I also question where they get the LP and that provider's oversight of the transportation method. This is Haz Mat people, wake up!:duh:

    loader hydraulics

With any luck, perhaps the broken part is just the pivot at the base of the lever. Try to warm the valve body (trouble light or heater) before trying to move the lever again. Is the tractor outdoors? Did it get rain or snow on it before the cold snap? Is it cold enough to cause the hydraulic...

    Selecting a quality enclosed trailer

One good way to figure out the good brands to look at is to pay attention to what the contractors (carpenters, electricians and the like) in your area are using. Perhaps, even engaging them in conversation about their rigs (and dealers) and how satisfied they are. Good luck with your quest.

    hazardous cargo-bypass safety standards

A good reason for more propane being used for corn drying, was because of a high yield in a lot of areas. More corn - more gas to dry it all, just that simple. The biggest factor this year is the severe cold. More cold - more gas to keep us warm, just that simple.

Taking In Used Tractor -- What To Care For First?

After you complete a good Lube/Oil/Filter servicing of the tractor, I would suggest a good pressure wash. A tractor of the size you are talking will do OK as a loader even in 2wd. The important element is rear weight. If you have loaded rear tires and/or balast weight, 2wd can do fine as a loader. Be sure when you shop for the FEL that you don't go so large that you overload the front end...

The "Legendary Farm Tractors" said only 125 were sold so they are really rare. Despite the fact that they were advanced in style, they were "Old Fashioned" in features such as no belt PTO and no hydraulics. Most important they had no springs so the ride was harsh on the roads.

The receiver hitch is far more versitile and once it's installed (frame mounted or 3 point) no tools are required to change from ball to drawbar or any other special type of hitch. As with all attachments, you must understand limits and safety requirements.

Our well does this when the return rate (fill rate) on the well goes down. This happens most commonly when our weather has us in near drought. It always refills eventually, just not fast enough to keep up with heavy draw. You might want to check the return rate of the well.

    Got to Plow Some Snow

We had 10 plus inches overnight. This was the biggest snowfall since I got my tractor last year. The 2400 did just fine. I agree with the above - "Nothing like a little tractor fun.";)

    Potato Sausage Making Day.

I have to agree with your 2nd. generation on the herring. We dropped that item some time back. We do the Swedish Rye (home baked) and Swedish meatballs according to Grandma's recipe. Root beer is our drink as well and desert is rice pudding cooked with a stick of cinnimon in it. This meal was...

    Potato Sausage Making Day.

Our family enjoys this Sweedish treat every year at Christmas. We know it as "Korv". TMR's recipe is much the same as ours. Korv is seasoned with sauted onion and All-spice. It is cooked by boiling not by frying. My grandparents were from Sweden and we try to carry on as many of their holiday...

    Inside Garage Storage Gas Tank

    HELP - I'm trashing 3- point attachments!

Are the lift arms pinned to limit side drift? Also, is the top link vibrating and turning outward creating more rear down pressure. You may need a stop nut on the third (top) link. Just a couple of thoughts.

SCUT cutting Fire Breaks, Best Tools?

I like the disk idea too. It would be more forgiving of tree or shrub roots that were left behind by the ratchet rake.

    Tn 65

I drive a two wheel drive version of the TN65 at work and it has been the same way since the day we took delivery. I guess it's just not meant to do hills in high gear. It's a good loader tractor otherwise.

    GAS: Regular? Premium? Ethanol?

One of our local small engine repair services says that any gas with ethanol should be treated. Either Stabil or one of the others designed for this use. The treatment helps prevent the "goo" or "gel" that plugs the carbs and fuel systems. My small mower and saw are running fine with this mix.
