In early decembre I welded 3/8 thick plate to reduce clearance (1/8 to 1/16). After two month of "nice" storm, I guess I have an extra 6 to 8 feet when I use it. The Martin is 5 year old, newer model have larger funnel and tighter fit for the second phase, evolution... It does help! Phil

Just close to our home "Payeur / Ascot Corner" did install a metal plate with an elctric winch 6000lbs. Work great it's bolted on the front bumper/frame. After a year, I remove it an bought a forest winch!:laughing:

Nice built, they can never be too strong! Last winter, my box blade was my best friend, with numerus ice storm, backing up with the rear end of a tough box blade... the ice was just easily chipping away! You will be happy!

If you're able to get chains with stud, your ck20 will become a "bulldozer," got those for three years now, amazing!

Is it for dual auger or also for single? I have a 54" it's runs just fine with four blades. The biggest difference was when it running out of hydraulic versus pto drive. Much more power with the drive shaft and link to the mid pto.

It's a heavy set up... But with weight comes reliability! It have never failed, but it's on the heavy side. I have a friend who combined in a late fall: oil change - maintenance - chain installation - front mounted snow blower on the same service call. Make sense to me. Mine a pto driven Martin...

Running your chain with a bit of clearance is especially nice with mud or wet snow (the type that sticks to your tires. Your loose chain will free itself, and your tire wont grow or accumulate snow. Perhaps the size or your fist for the rear, but a little less for smaller front tires...
