trying to decide all electric or use some propane

I've looked at some of the sites on electric houses vs propane and depending on who is sponsoring the sites it seems to sway the pro's and con's. It seems it would be cheaper to use propane for central heat, cooking and hot water and electric for the rest although its hard to tell just how much...

I've posted twice and so far ya'll have scared me off both. The first was using RR ties for piers and the second was using sonotube. The RR ties because you couldn't cut well, they might have termites and they rot from inside out quickly stood on end. And the sonotube requires as much as 22,000...

I was looking at the flexpoint hitch on this sites home page has anyone ordered one and are they any good/ heavy duty enough to hook a 36' or so trailer to and not worry about folding it up. They seem a little pricey are they worth it or could I have a welding shop fab one better and cheaper.

Sonotube questions Please respond if you know

I posted a prior post about using RR Ties and the majority of the folks here seem to think BAD Idea. OK numerous folks indicated that they had used sonotube for piers so my questions are fairly simple. My first thought was to stake out the house mark all the holes start from one end and go back...

Can I use railroad ties for piers on my house

I don't recall posting to the rural living site I'm usually found lurking and learning on the tractor section. I have a chance to buy unused 7" x 7" x 9' creosoted railroad ties at $10. each. Can I use these in a pier and beam house as the piers buried 3' to 4' feet in the ground or will the rot...
