Selling tractor : do I have to tell Kubota Credit ?

I'm moving to a place with very little land....so, selling the Kubota. I'm paying it off with 0% interest....and owe on it for two more years. Is there any reason to pay off the debt? Primarily, I'm asking if I am contractually obligated to pay it off once it sells. I'm no fan of carrying...

    x320 deck is $1,600 ?

Well, I guess I hit one too many stumps and my deck is unrepairably bent. The John Deere shop fixed the deck once, but I hit another stump and they say it's too far gone with bent spindles and such. Mowing with it, as is, leaves a bit of an uneven path.... and there is a regular beat of...

grease lube job zerks and ***Pins***?

I just finished doing the 50 hour service on a Kubota L3200. The grease-gunning of the zerks went well, but after some web browsing, I see people referring to greasing "pins", too. What's a pin? (I'm a newb, btw) Are there other things that could use some lubing (whether grease or other)?

Rotary Cutter  prices on Rotary Cutters, where?

I'm having some difficulty finding prices on Rotary cutters. I'm willing to pay more for the local dealer, but would love to be able to compare his quotes to the outside world! Specifically, my Kubota Dealer seems to push the Land Pride brand. I've got an L3200 and he recommends the 5'...

    big hook for busting roots?

As I mess around with my tractor....and attempt to clear my weed-tree forest.... It has occured to me that if I had a heavy duty hook.... like single prong claw.... that I could attach to my 3-point and lower into the ground to drag behind me, I could really get through some of the biggest...

bush hogging ("rotary mowers") advice please

I've got an L3200 Kubota.... 25hp at the PTO. Also, I've got 6 wooded acres that I am thinning....and I am considering making a little pecan tree orchard. Regardless, the understory is full of weed, invasive privet trees/shrubs and honeysuckle (I'm in Tenn.) Almost everything is going to be...

Fuel can is hard to handle!!!

Those new fuel can spouts are a pain to use.... refilling the tractor by standing awkwardly over the hood and trying to pour a five gallon is a killer. The spout restricts the full flow, so you end up standing there forever waiting for it to empty. Is it possible to by an old fashioned fuel...

RPM questions (nothing in the manual)

I've got a new L3200. I keep the throttle at less than max RPM...but not sure if there are any rules of thumb on where to keep the RPMs while working. Is it best to keep the RPMs at some distinct sweet spot regardless of what I'm doing? I don't have a good ear on this new machine...and it is...

work shoes or boots (easy to remove)

I'm in and out of the house a lot. I have some cheap steel toe work boots, but taking them on and off is a huge hassle. They get mucky with slimey clay, so I can't step inside. Heck, walking across the driveway messes up the driveway! I'd like to find some kind of work boot or shoe that has...

New L3200 - front loader line leakage

Hey, I finally used my L3200 for real work. For the past few days, I have just been fiddling around with it (first tractor ever) to get familiar with how the thing operates and feels. Right off the bat, I saw one of the hydraulic lines leaking. I tightened it, and no more leak.... but the...

If you run out of gas ...

Are there any special steps to take if you run out of gas? That is, are there any kind of priming sorts of things or other steps after refilling the tank and turning the key?

Large tool box for the back? (L3200)

I now have an L3200. It would be sweet if I could carry my chainsaw, tools, loppers, pick ax, etc. etc. in the back. I see a variety of "carryalls" including one from the local TractorSupply for $129 (most are well north of $200). Frankly, the TractorSupply version is very much oversized for...

clearing understory - can I avoid the turtles?

I love that there are box turtles in my woods. My woods are absolutely full of honeysuckle and invasive privits as an understory. On the floor is pretty much blanket of English Ivy. I'm ok with the Ivy. Also, there are these 5" high box turtles...I'd like to avoid them. I'll be buying a...

Barlows - always a good bet?

I live reasonably close to Barlows and have read only good things about them. I have called them and got some quotes and the buying from them seems as convenient as buying locally. Is it usually the case the Barlows is going to beat the local dealer...or darn close to the local dealers best...

JD always more expensive than an equal Kubota?

I've got a JD dealer just a few clear, easy miles down the street from me. The Kubota dealer is probably 10+ miles away....through town and busy streets. It would be nice to have the dealer so close. Well, let me ask, is it a big bonus to have a very close dealer? Anyway, I'm guessing that...

best model for crawling irregular terrain?

I'm going to be cutting trees and moving the refuse (probably on the front bucket or on a trailer pulled by the tractor) There are various kinds of terrain and ditches that I will be crawling over and around.... Although tractors are imperfect for this, what is a good model for this kind of...

small tractor backhoe - in clay???

I live in a very clay area of Tennessee. I'd like to do some digging, but wondering if a small tractor type backhoe is up to the job in clay. On the one hand, I would think that if you take just small bites of the earth with each "scoop", it is possible to get fairly deep... just a little...

x320 oil filter and oil alternatives?

I bought an x320 in June of 2011. Somewhere along the line, John Deere changed the Kawasaki engine model slightly. Because of this, there are two different filters that one would use depending on the model. My Engine is the FS 651 v If I were to use the John Deere filter, it would be the...

    rent or buy?

As I ponder the purchase of a "B" Kubota, I have thoughts about the advantages of renting. Once a person buys their first tractor, they are in essence, committing themselves to being a "tractor having person". So, you need a place to protect the tractor, you need the attachment, etc.... and...

What is JD's answer to the B2620?

I like the basic size of the B series.... good for my pupose, I think, of crawling around in my woods and clearing things. The tire size looks right and the ground clearance, too. The B2620 look like an economical option. The John Deere dealer is very, very convenient to me....and would...

Buying Advice  I think this is a DK35se Is it a good deal?

I'm in the market for tractor for my wooded 8 acres that I'd like to clean up (clear out the underbrush and some funky trees)...and then attempt to farm a little. Never owned a tractor before although I used an old Ford to smooth a greyhound track as a job once in the 80's. I was considering a...
