Preserving diesel fuel in transfer tank

I assume you mean "hydrophyllic" (as opposed to "hydrophobic")?

Preserving diesel fuel in transfer tank

You must spend all day in your tractor. (not a bad thing). My B2710 sips fuel, but I only use it to plow/maintain the driveway and move firewood. Not a flat/level place anywhere on my property.

Preserving diesel fuel in transfer tank

Well; I guess I'm a real NOOB here. I fill my Kubota about 2-3 times a year from a 5 gal plastic can and the worst of it is the stupid "safety" nozzle they put on those now, Takes forever to fill. I had never heard of stuff growing in diesel, although water/condensation does make sense. Maybe...

Recommendation for 6 acre hobby farm

Your LX3310 looks just like my (older) B2710 made in early 90s. Bought used from dealer about 10 yrs ago. Not 100% problem free, but no buyers remorse. 27-29 HP. HST. Loaded tires. Clears my driveway with a land-pride (used) blade. Just bought a grapple to handle firewood. Has saved me...

    Rotary Cutter Keeping Outdoors

I would think that some locktight and/or lockwashers would work better than letting it rust, especially if it ever needed repair.

    Trailer loading plan..

I don't own a trailer, but this seems like a good "down and dirty" trick to check trailer balance.

New grapple won't close all the way.

OMG! Sometimes the simplest solutions confound me... Sure enough; one of the hose connections had come loose. Plugged it back in tight, and all works great. SO relieved! THANK YOU ALL for the great suggestions and help!! You've averted me from going into a high-speed wobble.... Of course...

New grapple won't close all the way.

No. It looked like it might have been, but I was able to move it back and forth just a bit.

New grapple won't close all the way.

I have a 1990'S Kubota B2710 that has served me well since I've owned it (10 yrs±) Last December my Everything Attachments grapple finally arrived. I didn't need it until Spring, so it's only been attached a few months. Maybe 5-10 hours on it, and suddenly it won't close but half way. Seems to...

    New tractor owner

Yeah; Welcome to tractoring! You don't give your location, but when it comes to plowing; I just put on a good coat and snowmobile gloves, and a balaclava (to keep the snow from going down the back of my neck) and go for it!

    I don't understand something.

I spent a good chunk of my retirement savings on my used Kubota B2710, but there has been NO buyers remorse. I use it to plow my driveway in Winter, and drag it in Summer. I just bought a grapple to handle and cut my firewood, so I no longer have to climb onto the wood pile with a chain to the...

Looking to buy my first tractor

Eugene; In my (limited) experience; the dealer can make a big difference. In my area (NH) Kubotas and New Holland seem to be the most popular. There's only one Massey dealer around, and they have a poor reputation. I don't know where I'd go to find another brand. Parts and service should be a...

    Scam? I think so.

I did the same thing years ago, when I was first looking for a tractor. They said the tractor was in Iowa, so thought it odd that it was advertised on NH CL. I replied with "Great! I'm a truck driver and I'll happen to be out that way next week. Give your address, and I'll pick it up." The ad...

New tractor arriving this Friday. What do I need?

I'm a cheapskate, so I took an empty peanut butter jar, and bungee'd it to the ROPS. Works great, and FREE! If you've got a bigger cup, then just buy a bigger jar of PB.

    Plow now or wait?

I'm from New Hampshire, and my experience says PLOW NOW! Unless you've got a really big tractor, it's easier to do it twice than to wait and have to take all day out there. If you do get ice, there's not much you can do but sand/salt. (Or if you're in VA, maybe just wait a few days.)

Buying Advice Looking for a tractor

I'd start by going to your local dealers and asking questions. When I started looking, I found one dealer rather helpful, while another wouldn't give me the time of day (unless I walked in with a wad of ca$h in my hand). When I finally found a used Kubota at the dealer I liked, and I thought was...

Do homeowners buy snowplows to plow their own properties?

Part of the reason I bought my B2710 a few years back was so that I wouldn't be at the mercy of others to plow my drive. I found a used 4Ft. land Pride blade for $300, now mounted on rear. If the snows too deep to "pull" it out of the way, then I just use the FEL to push it. Then I can go back...

Found this on the ground ???

Welcome to TBN. Lots of good advice from veteran "tractorers". Glad to hear your dealer helped you out. They're not all that user-friendly.

    Moving Cordwood

THANK YOU to all the good folks for the great suggestions. I will look for a grapple attachment, or some sort of brush forks or tongs to fit my bucket. Much cheaper than trading my tractor buddy.

    Moving Cordwood

They'd have to replace my entire FEL, and probably modify the tractor mounts. Not cost-effective for a tractor this old. I'd love it if it could be done though. Quick release attachments are the way to go.

    Moving Cordwood

This might work for me. I'd use a shorter chain, so the tongs (& log) were in the middle of the bucket. Hence, it couldn't swing, and would remain perpendicular to the tractor. Thanks!

    Moving Cordwood

I don't have a welder, but I'm surprised my dealer didn't mention something like this. Where did you get the grapple? I'm sure I can find someone locally who can attach something like that for MUCH less than a new tractor.
  24. H

    Moving Cordwood

How did you get the "back fence" on the bucket? I like the idea of logs not ending up in my lap. But with those tongs, the log would want to go parallel with the tractor.(?)

    Moving Cordwood

I have a Kubota B2710 which I love, but here's my problem. My logger dropped a grapple load of wood in front of my garage (the only place he could) so it's difficult to get the cars in/out, and it will be impossible to plow next year. It's at least 3 years worth of wood, so I need to move at...

    Battery/Charging problem

Battery/Charging problem. Man, it was a rough winter. I had to replace the batteries in my snowmobile, my car, and most recently my tractor. I bought the replacement batt from the dealer, so although it was a different brand, I have to assume it's a proper replacement. After I installed it, I...

    Thanks!

Thanks to all the veteran members who post information here. There is a serious "learning curve" with these expensive machines. Lots of valuable info being shared here, and I appreciate it. David Kubota B2710 with loader and scraper blade. :cool2:
