Does anyone have an easy way to remove snow from equipment after use

Here's my setup, it works pretty good. 2 plastic mortar pans and a couple of wood blocks, a gutter scoop and broom that I clean as much as possible before bringing in to my heated garage. The pans catch most of the water. I just have to mop up a small puddle usually. If it's above freezing, I...

    2025r SCV valve suddenly stiff

2019 2025r. The SCV valve for the raise and lower function is suddenly very stiff. It loosens a little as it warms up, but is still stiffer than normal. The curl function has the normal resistance. It feels like maybe an o-ring that has swelled or gotten out of a groove. I tried spraying with...

Do I really need a tractor on 1.5 acres?

You need that tractor!.... In 1976 we bought our first home on 1 acre, 1/2 acre of lawn. The next year I bought a 16 hp. Wheelhorse 8-speed garden tractor with a 48" mower deck and 48" plow which served me well for the next 34 years. Especially during the blizzard of 1978 when we had 3' of snow...

    JD 2210 mowing issue

It sounds to me, since it comes right back up after disengaging the MMM, that it is a problem with the MMM, such as a seizing bearing as it heats up. I would try turning the mower by hand prior to mowing, and then see if you can still turn it when the rpms drop. Or, check the temperature of the...

Can I just pour cement in ballast box and add water.

OK, I went with 6 50# bags of pea stone. Looks like I can fit 2 more. I think I'll bolt a bracket to the back of the box to hang some suitcase weights on also. Ill keep my chains and stuff in the 9" extension tool box. Thanks for the responses.

Can I just pour cement in ballast box and add water.

I read somewhere that the water adds weight and can’t completely evaporate because it can’t escape once the concrete hardens. Any truth to that? Of course, water only weighs about 7.5 pounds per gallon and I suppose I won’t need more than a gallon, so your idea about future removal sounds good...

Can I just pour cement in ballast box and add water.

Just upgraded to a 2018 2025R with a ballast box. My 2004 2210 went to my son. I added the 9” extension which I am going to use as a tool box to store chains etc. or fill with removable weight if needed. I am going to fill the original box with concrete. Can I just dump the bags in the box...

Where can I check serial number prior to purchase.

Yeah, we’re going to keep looking. He‘s contracted the plowing for his home and business for this year, so we’ll wait for a good package deal that fits his needs better. Missed out on two deals just today. They’re asking $21k, and the dealer quoted around $24k for a new one. The backhoe could...

Where can I check serial number prior to purchase.

Thanks for your replies, I managed to contact the selling dealer in PA and verified that it was a clean sale. One minor warranty repair to SCV valve. Still deciding if it's right for my son. It has the loader and backhoe for 21k, but he needs a mower deck and snowblower. The backhoe, while...

Can anyone identify what is happening with this tree? I'm not sure if it's an oak or maple (until and unless it grows some leaves). I'm also seeing some of that rust colored stains on some other trees in the area. It looks like it has some kind of fungal disease.

How long should my Harbor Freight shop press hold the pressure?

Upgraded to the air assist for $42 with a 20% off coupon and $30 credit for the bad cylinder. I'm happy with it so far. It held the pressure for over 16 hours, more than enough for my use. I can see a few jobs that the air assist could be handy. Thanks for all the responses.

How long should my Harbor Freight shop press hold the pressure?

I bought a HF 12 ton shop press with the idea of clamping 8 layers of wood to glue it. The glue dries in about an hour. My problem is the press loses all the pressure in aout 15-20 minutes or less. I thought it should last until I release the valve. Is it defective? or is that normal? and I...

Higjh or low RPM when going down steep grade with HST?

Just wondering... when I go down a steep grade with my JD 2210 HST, do I have more braking with higher RPM' s or does it matter? I don't fully understand how the wet braking works, but it would seem that higher RPM's would allow more hydraulic pressure and thus more braking action.

Loader  Storing the loader on my JD2210 for the winter.

When the snow flies, I remove the 210 loader from my 2210 tractor and store it in the shed until spring (which happens to be the first week of March this year :) .. Keeping your garage floor dry when the snow melts off your tractor.

Our garage has no floor drain, even though I clean as much snow as I can off my tractor and snowthrower, it always leaves a big puddle on the garage floor. A google search turned up some containment systems for about $300, but there were several negative reviews. I made my own for around $40...

If I bolt 2" PVC to edge of snowblower, will it eat it?

OK, it worked, but the PVC flexed and chattered against the impeller a little. I replaced it with black iron pipe and it works beautifully. I need to move the bolt heads to the inside of the pipe and then I think I can use it on the blacktop driveway too. I'll start a new thread with my next...

If I bolt 2" PVC to edge of snowblower, will it eat it?

I need to clear a path about 50' across my front lawn to let the dogs "do their business" when it snows deep. Invariably, I always scalp a few spots when I hit a dip even though I'm trying to keep it an inch or two above the lawn. I cut a piece of 2" PVC pipe and slit it lengthwise on my table...
