    Comparing small tractors (long)

OP checking back in here. Some one wanted to know how much grass we cut..... we have 26 acres, maybe 6 acres have grass or food plots that get mowed ( maybe not that much )... a couple of acres are tilled garden most of the year, but is left to do its own thing in the winter.... gets cut and...

    Comparing small tractors (long)

Good point about parts and what I like to call rebranded tractors. Yes they come and go. I still own a Satoh tractor ( mitsubishi ) from the early 80s. Parts are still out there but no longer affordable compared to the machines value. I own a mahindra that is about 10 years old. Parts are...

    Comparing small tractors (long)

Well, I went out looking again today I know I said I would not go to green, but I did.... the 1025r is a nice machine, fit, finish and layout felt good and hydraulics felt good, not kubota good, but close. it is a tad bigger physically, which gave a roomier feel than the BX I had been...

    Comparing small tractors (long)

Carl_NH, I did look at the B series and the LX and the capacities there are much better, but unfortunately the tractors are physically larger and would negatively effect the cutting of the grass which in my situation, is the primary objective. The way our property is laid out we have a number...

    Comparing small tractors (long)

Someone mentioned Yanmar.... i got to use a new one a few years ago and I agree I would have traded my Mahindra for it on the spot.... but no dealer near by for me. Tractor Supply was selling a dumbed down model a few years ago... no more and again no support. A cab and AC would be awesome...

Torcy, is a "tweak" something I can just weld back together? or is that the one that requires the drive to buy parts? Lol

    Comparing small tractors (long)

Fair questions.... I plant and mow down multiple food plots several times a year... zturn not good on previously turned or tilled ground or even ruff ground. Even a lawn tractor isn't great for that. A z turn only cuts grass. It is a great tool for that purpose, but only for that purpose. We...

    Comparing small tractors (long)

The nearest TYM dealer is over an hour away and it is not an interstate type drive... it's over the twisty mountain roads and then a run thru city traffic. I do have to go that way for a Doctor's appointment. May be worth the drive. A lift better than the mahindra makes it interesting for sure.

    Comparing small tractors (long)

Jeepcoma, I did sit and ride on all machines. Ground speed with a load is important to me, unfortunately they won't let me scoop a bucket full of anything to test that. They did let me test with a backhoe onboard to simulate some kind of a load on the rear. Weight is something I didn't...

    Comparing small tractors (long)

Help me think of what I have not thought of please. This will be a cash purchase so financing deals are not a consideration. We will probably keep the machine 10 years, so that will be the minimum age at resale. We have decided to replace our aging lawn tractor with a small ( think bx size )...

1526 added multiple rear remotes, 3rd function

I finished this a while back and realized I didn't share my project with anyone. So if anyone is interested I'll do a quick run down. I have a 1526 TLB and wanted rear remotes for TNT and I wanted 3rd function for a grapple, but I wanted to do it as cheap as I could. The kits available for the...

    Mahindra 1526HST glow plug issue

I know this is an older post, but I have had a similar problem a couple of times with my 1526hst. Nothing tested right. I eventually bought a set of cheap Amazon glow plugs and installed them... fires right up. Put old glows (tested good) in again because I'm curious... no fire. After six...

Is a 6' box blade too much for a compact?

I run a 1526 HST mahindra with a 6ft box blade... heavy one at 600 pounds... handles it fine even with a full load in the box. If I have a full load of wet dirt I need to run low gear where I normally run in middle gear.

Help, adding new tractor to operation

No the loader is just not strong enough. there was plenty of counter weight. It's still a nice little tractor and does what he needs. If I was just doing stuff around the property taking two half loads of Gravel and running it where it needs to go would not matter, but I load my bucket slap...

Help, adding new tractor to operation

I don't think I have even seen a grand L. I have done a walk around of the regular L. Regardless it is getting a little heavy for my application. I go through a lot of back yards and not leaving ruts or destroyed lawns is a big selling point. I have often considered a smaller tractor because...

Help, adding new tractor to operation

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and opinions. I operate a small Tractor business. My bread and butter is repairing washed out Gravel driveways. I focus on homeowner sized jobs and am the only game in town using a lighter tractor. There are plenty of ground destroying skid steers, but they...

Anyone intersted in a Satoh Beaver

Guys I have decided to sell my satoh beaver 370d.... its been in the family for around 25 years and has been a workhorse. I purchased a new tractor last year and planned to do a nice restoration on the Beaver, but other projects are always higher on the to do list. The beaver is 4x4... it runs...

A 372 at small FFA farm auction

I went to the local high School FFA farm auction this past weekend. I couldn't believe it when I saw a 372 (2wd cat1 hitch) in really good shape. No ignition switch, but it started and ran like a champ. A little over 600 hours on the meter. It went fairly cheap, but it was more than I had...

Beaver leaking tran/hyd fluid from ?

Well I filled the trani/hyd fluid and everything started shifting and working great.... I parked it in the garage and last night I found all my fluid on the shop floor. It was dark but the fluid appeared to be leaking from a rubber plug on the rear of the housing... I puled the plug off but it...

Old member "new again' Beaver resto

Hello everyone. I was a member here a long time ago but I've been away so long I had to re-register. Back in the day I bought this little satoh beaver (for $200) that needed lots of help. I planed to restore it, but really only got it running (thanks to a member here with a replacement motor)...
