    3-Point Hitch Hydraulic top link

Sorry a little late to the party on this one. Here's the top link I purchased and hose kit based on someone else's thread here. Works perfectly and is plug & play. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005EMH0HA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1...

    RK55 - Backhoe subframe & oil change

Hi Don - yep we are fortunate with some pretty hills & pastures in this area. Won't stay that way forever unfortunately as Wesley Chapel keeps getting closer & closer.

    RK55 - Backhoe subframe & oil change

I just performed an oil change and removed the backhoe subframe to avoid a mess. Out of curiosity, when reinstalling the plate, I switched it 180 degrees to see where the holes would now fall relative to the drain plug. Low and behold, one of them lines up. It's not perfectly concentric, but...

RK55H Updated Filter Part Numbers & Pricing (12/2021)

About to perform my 300 hour service and figured I'd post updated PNs and pricing for RK55H filters. If you see a slash, the PN preceding the slash has been superseded by the PN following the slash. RK PNs are in parenthesis. I was able to find all filters on the shelf. Oil Filter...

Anyone have 300+ hours on their RK55?

Five hours shy of 300. Issues below: 1. Leaking steering cylinder - replaced under warranty - no leaks since. 2. Leaking 4x4 shaft seal - replaced myself - no leaks since. 3. Leaking 4x4 actuator o-ring - replaced myself - no leaks since. 4. Leaking union/o-ring (if there is one?) on rear...

Melancholy, I have the factory repair manual and will see what it says tonight regarding the A/C system. As far as repair manuals go it’s pretty crappy, but it may have some useful info for you.

    Glow plugs?

The glow plug light on the RK55 only illuminates during the initial key turn to the “ON” position. The light illuminates for approx 3-4 seconds and then blinks out. You can hear the glow plugs operating even after the light goes out, so I’m not sure it’s even tied to their operation, like some...

    Starlink

Thx for the replies Rob & Peter. I do have a power junction box for my well about 10 feet from the post but I'll likely try connecting Dishy's cable to my existing cable first to see if it works. I don't like the idea of the power brick sitting outside in the Florida heat/humidity. I also have...

    Starlink

Apologies if this has been discussed before. I'm currently on the preorder list for Starlink, and for my existing setup, I have about 120 feet of buried cat5e cable running from my network closet inside the house to a pole outside where my current internet provider's dish is located. I intend to...

    RK Tractor Prices

I just noticed this today and my eyes bulged when I saw the current price of the RK55HC ($36,599) that I paid $29,999 for in December of 2018. They had a $2k price increase in January of 2019 which is why I purchased when I did. Does this mean my tractor is now worth more than I bought it for? Ha.

    RK37HC A/C belt adjustment

I have the RK55. If you check my past threads you should find one where I experienced the same issue as you. If the 37 is setup similar to the 55, you may only be able to actuate that nut with a crowfoot wrench adapter and long extension. That’s the only thing that worked for me. I included pics...

    Rk55 radiator screens

Yeah it's not the greatest design. Aside from having to remove the side hood panel which can be a knuckle buster, I end up having to bend the screen a tiny bit if my front right wheel isn't positioned just right because the screen hits the raised part of the R4 wheel tread on its way out. As a...

How far would you drive a tractor?

I’ve driven twice to and from my dealer who is 11 miles away. Heavy traffic during daylight hours. I drive their beforehand in my vehicle and leave it there overnight (someone else takes me home of course), then I leave in the tractor around 4-5 am on a Sunday morning. No one on the roads at...

Leaking 4x4 shaft seal on RK55

I would say so. There was a decent amount of paint or some other hardened gunk around the mating surface bore, so that could have been the reason for premature failure. Who knows. Hopefully this one lasts longer. Put about 6 hrs on it thus far with no more leaks so fingers crossed.

    Woods RM660 Gear Box rebuild

You prob already know this but the parts diagram shows a gear puller for this specific purpose. It looks like the tool has you tighten some screws until the gear gives way. A slide pull may not be enough for the job.

    Box blade

I have a Woods BSM84P with stationary blade. It comes with the hinge mounts if you want to switch to a hinged blade down the road or from the get go. It's also CAT 1 & 2 compatible. I consider this unit one step below the Woods/Gannon units with the hydraulic scarifiers. The BSM84P weighs...

Leaking 4x4 shaft seal on RK55

Update: I was able to also replace the leaking o-ring on the 4x4 actuator shaft as well. I used a razor blade to slowly separate the actuator housing from the tranny. The old o-ring didn't look bad at all, but the new one does feel tighter once inserted into the housing. If you find yourself...

How can I separate these two parts?

Success. I went with a square razor blade and slowly tapped it into the bottom edge. After a few good taps, and one broken blade, it finally gave way. The shaft and housing come out as one piece, as shown in the pics below. Last pic shows the o-ring I'm replacing. Thx for all the suggestions...

Leaking 4x4 shaft seal on RK55

2019 with about 180 hrs. I have an 8 yr powertrain warranty but not sure if this would have been covered. Regardless, my 50 hr service was a train wreck, so unless the tractor has an issue I'm not capable of fixing myself, it's not going back to the "dealer".

Leaking 4x4 shaft seal on RK55

The rear shaft seal on the 4x4 shaft of my RK55 has been leaking for the past year and I finally got around to fixing it. The PN for this seal is V7441254708. Overall it is a pretty easy job but you will need an appropriately sized piece of pipe or tube to drive the new seal back in and snap...

How can I separate these two parts?

Thx for ideas Dave. I hadn't thought about pulling on the shaft itself and the housing coming along for the ride. But, as you stated, that only works if the shaft is capable of sliding out. It's not clear in the parts diagram how exactly it interacts with the 4x4 actuator, so it may slide right...

How can I separate these two parts?

I need to take the housing off this shaft because the o-ring that keeps the shaft from leaking isn't doing its job. Gasket maker appears to be firmly holding the housing to the transmission. I've tried some whacks with a rubber mallet with no success. Maybe try a dead blow to kind of shock the...

    TYM RK55 Check engine Light

It's directly beneath the steering column. However, it does not appear to be an OBD2 type connection (mine doesn't fit it) and I'm not sure tractors even speak OBD2 language. It could be a proprietary connector that requires a reader specific to TYM tractors.

Best way to smooth this out? Tilled land.

I'm hoping the grass isn't an issue. I re-tilled the area shown in my original post and it seems to be mixing it in much better on the second pass. Best way to smooth this out? Tilled land.

Our property used to have a bunch of pines on it and many were removed and the stumps ground several years back. That's left the land very rough. I've started tilling some sections so I can have something smoother to mow in the future. I thought I would be able to smooth & compact the tilled...

RK55HC Air Conditioner Belt Tension and Mystery Fill Cap

As a final update to this post, I strongly suggest those with the a cabbed RK55 tractor who intend to do their own maintenance invest in a claw foot wrench adapter set. RK55HC Air Conditioner Belt Tension and Mystery Fill Cap

Mystery solved, kinda. That's a filler cap on the bonnet assy of the cylinder head. It's #37 in the parts diagram below. Since it's not used for regular maintenance, I wonder what its purpose is. Maybe only used during a tear down.

My A/C belt has started to squeal so I attempted to tighten it but realized when I got some components removed to make some space, I'm unable to get the lock nut loosened on the tensioner pulley. The flats are oriented such that it's impossible to get a wrench on them due to the limited...

Fan hits fan shroud - am I asking too much of this tractor?

All bolts relating to steering & subframe assy are tight. The only ones I found I could tighten more were those that connect the long square tubing from the loader to the rear axle. I had a 32 hp Massey Ferguson tractor prior to the RK55 that never exhibited the trait I'm about to describe, so I'm not sure if I'm pushing this larger tractor too hard, or if it's just a poor design? Twice now I've experienced instances where the engine fan contacts the fan shroud on uneven...

RK55 Front Axle Gear Oil Dip Stick Question

Is everyone else's RK55 front axle dipstick canted at an angle like mine? Seems like an odd orientation for a dipstick. Additionally, I'm assuming the two raised areas on the stick represent min and max fill levels, but the manual shows just one max mark, with min being the bottom of the...

Oil & Fuel RK 55HC 50 hour service

Don - Figure 901 in the parts manual is what you should have received when you purchased your tractor, at least it's what I got back in December of 2018 with my RK55HC. See pic below for reference. It was a pleasant surprise for me considering that is the more expensive of the two hydro filters.

    RK55 stabilizer bars

Excellent point Tennsawdust. After seeing your post, I tested this by removing one of the pins from one side, and moving it to the other side in the additional hole that's visible in the slot (see pic for reference). So, if I can obtain two more of the pins that currently secure the arms, it...

    RK55 stabilizer bars

I think it's simply a matter of the lower linkage arms being too wide to attach to the mower when both stabilizer bars are in hole #6. Nothing more. A Word of Caution to 3rd Function Valve Owners

Let me preface this post by saying that my experience below shouldn't be construed as a blanket statement that all RK tractors with 3rd function valves may have these issues. Just curious if any who have purchased a RK tractor were able to actually drive one prior to sealing the deal? Overgrown Hilly clearing with RK37 Hydro Cab

My thoughts exactly on the grapple. Big stuff first, little stuff after. Took me about a year to get everything cut...

I'm fine with either gas tank location. I bet something could be fabricated to protect the RK55 tank. Garage door height and RK55 with cab

A valid point, one I've considered. Here's a pic with 8' vs 10' doors on our garage. I don't think the 10' look too bad. My beef with the 10' doors, aside from the extra cost of the block work, is that if I can ever afford to build a 30 x 40 steel shed, the tall garage doors won't be necessary...

Garage door height and RK55 with cab

We are currently building a new house. I have the option of going with 10 ft tall garage doors or 9 ft tall.
