    Snow Blade

I am considering a snow blade for my 1430 and wonder if there are any options I should consider? What is the experience of those who have the snow blade, get a wheel kit or anything else. I will use the blade on gravel roads almost exclusively. Thanks.

    snow chains for PT1430

I have used studs in my 26x12x12 tires on my 1430 but it looks like I will need something more this winter. I tried to do a search but did not come up with an answer. Has anyone found chains that will work with our limited clearance between the tire and tub?

    Thinking of a 140

I am in the market for either a Farmall Cub or a 140. Is one really better than the other? The tractor will be used to cultivate, & hill and harvest potatoes. I know the 140 can be much newer and more expensive but is it worth the extra expense and is the turning radius is important. I have an...

    One wheel tractor

I love my BCS and could not get along without it. But the other day I saw a small one wheel tractor/cultivator and it would work well in areas where the BCS will not go. I have done a quick search and can not find a current source. They were made years ago but I am not sure any are in...

    Suggestion for BCS

I have a BCS853 with diesel engine and it has 100's of hours. Ont thing I would like to see is a lower 1st gear. Sometime the 1st gear seems a little to fast but overall it is a great machine. Guess I will keep my 1430

    Snow  20" Too Much Snow

We have over 20" and 18 degrees. I went to the barn to start my 1430 and clear a path to the road so we could go to church tomorrow. The 1430 started great but when I started to come out of the barn the snow was so deep the undercarriage hung up and the tires started to spin. I guess we will...

    BCS / chipper-shredders

The last few day I have had a chance to do a lot of chipping, the chipper worked without a hitch. In 2 days I was able to chip/shred over 6 cu yards. I also used the shredder to get rid of a lot of old files. The only thing you need to careful about is to make sure you have the chipper...

    BCS & Mulch layer

I have used the mulch layer available from Earth Tools and it is a neat trick. The layer does require some set up time but I put down 20 rows 60' each. A row took only 5 minutes but turn around time and reset up added about another 5 minitues. Did not use the drip tape attachment but will next...

I have been thinking about adding clevis hooks to my 5' LMB. Has anyone had experience with hooks on their LMB? I wonder if extra support needs to be added. I also saw a receiver welded on the middle of a front loader and with a hay spear in the receiver it was used to move round bales. I...

    3-Point Hitch  3 way hitch

Many of you have put 2" receivers on the back of your PT's. I would like to do that in the future but here was a quick and easy way for now. The biggest problem I have had is to keep the nut tight enough so the hitch does not rotate. I have just used some locktite and it seems to be working...

    Looking for a tractor

I have a small place in the mountains and am looking for a tractor. The local Kubota dealer has quoted me $11500.00 for a new L3400 gear drive and $3500.00 for a LA463 loader.
