    BX80 Series ROPS vs BX70Series

Does anyone know if the new BX23 (80 series) ROPS will fit the older BX25D? I'd love to have that shorter ROPS so I could get into my 8ft door!

Here in China, Maine we've got about 20" but it's still snowing! I'm using the BX25 to clear enough so I can then get the plow truck moving without getting stuck. Wet heavy stuff! I use the FEL and home made back blade to put it where I want it. This is what it looked like outside the shed...

BX25D - Cheap and easy ballast

Since I have the 60" mower deck on, I have the BH stored so I needed some ballast while moving some dirt etc. Looked in the scrap pile and found a nice piece of "hanger steel", I'd been saving old brake rotors for some time thinking they might be useful at some point...here's the...

    BX25 Winch

Well one "advantage" of this mount on the BX is that the BX is light enough that, IF I'm not hitched straight on, it straightens itself out pretty quick! ;) I use my grapple on the front to either dig into the ground as an anchor or if it's too hard, then I chain the grapple to a tree. I also...

    BX25 Winch

Here's my winch solution. I use it to pull logs/trees out of places I can't get close to. First I put a Reese mount on the draw bar, and added an 8" extension to it. Then I made a box to hold my deep cycle battery. Add the battery and I've got a system independent of the tractors...

BX25D Work Lights - DIY project

I had them pointed front, and the factory lights pointed back when I took this. The shed is lit by the factory lights. They are not as bright as the factory ones but bright enough!

BX25D Work Lights - DIY project

Just finished up a project I've been working on off and on this winter. I have the factory LED work lights on the ROPS but I wanted to keep them aimed forward and add some additional ones pointed to the rear. I picked up some LED "Off Road" lights at wally world and made some brackets out of...

Bro-Tec Wheel Spacers and Skid Plates

I have the 2" spacers on the rear of my BX25D (clearance for tire chains) and just got the 1.25" for the front. Very well made. I made my own skid plate.

    Do I need chains?

Here you go! I just drew a straight line down the length, took the sawzall to it, then just get a BFH and pound it onto the edge of the bucket!

    Rear Blade build

We just finished mine! Used an old Craftsman front blade and built a frame to hold it. It has 6 angle positions, 3 facing front and 3 back. Just need to add some paint! I can't take credit for the welding as I had a friend do it. He just retired as a Millwright and does a pretty...

    2015 BX25D - plans for "upgrades"

Bucket Forks - not on my original list but realized I needed them so... I looked in the scrap steel pile and found a couple of fifth wheel mounts for a pickup bed. They are about 4 ft long and real sturdy so I got some chain, chain binders, 3" u-bolts I had, a couple of 40" 2 x 6 and some...

    2015 BX25D - plans for "upgrades"

Got the first tool box all mounted up. I found that Tractor Supply had two ammo boxes (30 cal and 50 cal) for $29.95 so I pick them up. Had some plastic type material left from another project that made perfect spacers for the brush guard mount. So when I took the brush guard off to do the 50...

Adding some more bite to my grapple

Yes that looks like it would work quite well. I've been using mine to clear the edge of a field, and there are some roots left over that I should be able to grab with my modification.

Adding some more bite to my grapple

I have a Land Pride SGC0548 grapple on my BX25D. It works great for picking things up that are perpendicular to the grapple, but if you need to pick something up, like a smaller log, and want to pick up the end, you need something like this. I have a pine grove that has a lot of dead falls...

    2015 BX25D - plans for "upgrades"

Chain Saw Scabbard - completed! Bolted to the left floor where there are two holes for bolts that hold the deck. Then a couple of pieces of angle iron, and some wood that fits inside the iron, one additional bracket to hold it all tight.

    Ball hitch/receiver for backhoe bucket

Just posted this on my thread...certainly not for a load of fire wood, but some compost, or a stump or two, log splitter, an empty trailer it should be fine,. This is on a BX25-D.

    2015 BX25D - plans for "upgrades"

Step Hitch - rainy day here so I spent a few minutes being creative with my die grinder. :D Have not tested this yet, but it's going to be used with a light utility trailer for brush and the occasional stump. I know I know, it's not the right place for a hitch, but I figure the weight that the...

    2015 BX25D - plans for "upgrades"

OK here it is - the "no-weld" skid plate. I used 2" angle iron, some 3/16" x 3" steel, a bit of 3/16" x 2" steel , 2 1/2"-13 grade 8 bolts with jam nuts and regular nuts, a piece if 1/16" sheet steel and a lot of 1/4-20 bolts, nuts and washers. If any one is interested I'll post the drawings...

Well we finally pulled the trigger and Barlow's should be delivering my new SCUT the week of the May 25, 2015. Went to Barlow after reading all the good stuff here and comparing prices locally. Brady just couldn't be beat even with a delivery all the way to Maine! 1 - What I...

3-Point Hitch  To hitch or not to hitch - that is the question.

Well time is getting close to dropping the dime(s) for the new SCUT. The decision has finally been made to go with the BX25D. I'll be getting it with: R4 tires - BH Thumb - Land Pride Grappel - BX Quick Attach- FEL - Maybe LED work lights and 2" wheel spacers if I can get them with the order...

    Loader  B2920 48" FEL vs 50" FEL?

I'm wondering if I can get the 48" bucket on a B2920 instead of the standard 50". The reason being that I want to be able to unload my pickup bed which is 48" between the wheel wells. How hard would it be to swap them If I had both?

Looks like a great forum here! Been searching through it to help on what model Kubota to purchase next spring. Looking like a B2920 with rotary cutter, and a front FEL mounted thumb/grapple. I have a 10 acre field, that needs some restoration/recovery, and lots of woods where I haul firewood...
