Yes I'm sure that has a benefit if you're on hilly/wet areas, but it's not for me. My place is flat and I tear up the turf enough, doing the "zero turn"s with wheels.

My new King Kutter came with a separate manual for the PTO shaft, from "RPM". Skimmed though it, and it deals with the little locks. Your brand may be different.

There's a couple of jets, hidden under two brass plugs that get gunked up on these (otherwise great) Kaw motors. Pull the plugs, clean the jets, replace the plugs and it's good to go. New carb was/is the easy way. :)

So I forget, and send in the check, again. I then look to see my expiration date is like 4 years away. When my folks passed, I see they did the same thing when I cancelled their long extended subscriptions.

Yeah, maybe... If it's plugged BAD, it may suck in on itself, but you should be able to re-form it. You'll just need to open 'er up and find out.

You shouldn't have to replace the screen. It can be cleaned.

Have a pic of your house? Basement or crawl space? Access from inside the house is ideal. I'd look into digging out a spot for one of the pre-fab units, right next to the house. I have a basement, but I've seen build "safe" rooms/structure built in the basements, to protect us from the house...

The manual will show that. On my 855, I believe it's at the back, behind the "suction" hose connection.

If it has a warning light, there has to be a sensor/switch. Find it on the motor and unplug (or maybe "short it" if it's got two wires). This will eliminate that possibility...

The filter to change, is #5 in your parts list. There should also be a metal screen to take out and clean. The "trans" oil is used for all hydraulic functions. The service manual will show this process.

You should look. If the sensor fails, it could/does cut off the ignition.

No, those studs I found/posted were "regular" bolts, with allen head. They would screw in from the back, using the threads already there in the hub. My Deere has bolts also, yes they are a PITA! Anyway, it's already done, so - Good Job... ;)

I'm in a similar situation. I took down my hard lines and water filters when I sold my Illinois home, and brought the compressor and all the piping, etc with my to Iowa. After I built my shop (finished early last year), the compressor is in but I still have the piping sitting here in a corner...

When I got my KK rotary cutter, I think I had to sand off the extra thick paint they had put on it. Yes, grease it first too.

I really wanted to open up the tank, but I could not get the sending unit/pickup off without destroying it (plastic), so I left it on and went the "remove the whole tank" route first. Pretty easy job, surprisingly.

Last summer, I (stupidly) mowed for an hour before I smelled gasoline and noticed I had left the (big) gas cap off the ZT. Sure enough, there was all sorts of debris in the fuel and it developed the "runs for 20 minutes, then dies out" problem. New fuel filter didn't do it. JD sold me a new...

I didn't see a parts diagram but, if the pickup is mounted on top of the fuel tank, there is probably a line sticking down inside the tank. Often there is a filter/fitting at the bottom of that line. The pickup hose has probably come apart above the "normal" pickup.

I live halfway between two Menard's - about 40 minutes either way. I shop there often. One weird thing about their store layouts. The two stores are laid out the same, but the plans are FLIPPED. If you use the correct "my store", the app picks the right aisle. I have to remember which one...

Don't use poison. The poison will be transferred to whatever eats the carcass, and so on... I've had limited success with the "dog proof" traps. I use cage traps, then shoot 'em (22lr works fine). Sardines work great for bait, but anything stinky works great like others have said. Stake them...

That looks like a good one. A better choice over the (great but older) JD755, even if it's $3k more... Are they charging for delivery? The Woods rotary cutter "thrown in" would've swayed me more than the warranty. :)

For tractors, more weight is a good thing. When I got new rear tires, I had them filled with RimGuard.

Never seen one using that. The 4' rotary cutter will be fine on a 755. I use a 5' on my 855. Yes, keep the loader on (and the belly mower) for counterweight. At $7k, that looks like a good deal.

IHMO, you'll never get it satisfactory, if it has "thousands" of pits. I've polished a few (with the correct tools and paste), that had defective wiper arm streaks. They never came out very good.

Rent one. I've been looking for a reasonably priced bucket truck (like the cable company has) for about five years. No decent (like - running) that I found were less than $9k. I've been renting the tow behind ones, like once a year, for roof repair, painting, etc... I'll be renting one again...

Rosette oxy torch (have a helper or two) and the bottle jack or porta power, should work. You may not be able to shrink it enough though, then you'll need to cut/slice and re-weld. Actually, the more I think about it - the cut/weld idea might be better.

I was in your shoes. I had a steel 7500# tandem axle car hauler, that got overloaded - bent the rear axle. I replaced the axle, replaced the worn tire and sold it (for just about what I paid for it) and bought a 10k# unit. No worries now.

Will do. The zerks need the paint cleared off 'em of course. There is also a painted over plate on the side gearcase indicating that part was made by "OmniGear". Interesting.

Good deal! The electric starter alone is probably close to that price.

Probably did run it out of fuel. You'll need to bleed the air out of the system. Some have a bleeder valve/knob at the pump, some you'll need to crack loose the line at the injector (one at a time).

I'm looking for advice. The SIL seems to want me to get a rototiller for my Allis D-17. for food plot work. Other than needing a 6 footer - to cover the rear tire width, I know little about them. New/used, brand, what to look (out) for?
