    Gambled on a G5200 Today

I would remove the injectors and glow plugs and have them checked and serviced.

    Not to Brag, but...

I have a quick hitch, and the tractor has a hydraulic tilt and top hitch. I have modified all 8 attachments to suit the quick hitch, so it only takes a minute to hook up to the tractor, then it's just the ones with PTO and hydraulic to connect.

No, I am NOT going to try to take down a dead 100' Hickory tree!

It needs to come down, you either cut that grass or have stock graze it, either way a danger to those around or under it, and it will get more unstable as time goes on. Two options I see, can you cast a fishing line?. I use a fishing rod to pull a line up high in an unstable tree, then pull a...

    “Forcing” the FEL to lift?

All hydraulic systems have a relief valve in the hydraulic bank (where the levers are). The oil when the relief valve opens, returns to the tank, and the lift function stops. It's better if the relief is set in the lower range, as I have seen cylinders split, hoses blown and the hydraulic...

    Tips on loading dead tractor

Most tractor hydraulics will lift by pulling the "up" lever back and turning the engine over on the starter. It should lift enough to move it.

Longer bar for Stihl M261 - relative novice.

I run 2 saws, 445 X torq and a 365 special, both commercial saws. The 445 I run a 20-inch bar, and the 365 has two bar lengths, 24-inch and 28-inch. The 28-inch has a skip-tooth chain and cuts faster than the 24-inch. There are lots of options that can be done without overloading the saw's power.

    Small Hydraulic Fluid Leak

Every dealership has a "master Dealer" and gives or sells a dealership to sell and service their products. If a dealership does not carry out after-sales and warranties, go to the Master Dealer with a complaint; they do not like a dealership not doing their job to the standards required.

Dig septic bed with front end loader

The "septic bed" can be designed so there is soakage and evaporation; the soak pipe is only 6 to 10 inches deep. Here, we can lay the soak pipe on the ground with flaxes and grasses that help clean the water. If the septic is set up with multiple chambers, the water that comes out of the end of...

My Stupidity kicked in at full throttle.

Great post rScotty, a PTO stub in the tractor is in bearings and some are held in with only an internal circlip, not made to pull on. I had a wide tree felling wedge that I cut some of the centre out so it fitted over the PTO shaft, this tool makes it so easy to separate the shaft off the PTO stub

Tractor and implements- I need to move from WV to AZ

The US must have trucking companies looking for backloads. Often, you can get a good deal as the trucks are running empty.

Sorta embarrassed to ask ... I should really know.

I don't know what your tractor has to lock the hydraulic arms up, some tractors have a tap wheel below the seat, this slows the speed of arm drop and will stop the arms dropping. My tractor has many electric/hydraulic settings, including height, speed, and draft control.

    4310 Rear Hydraulic Couplings

An electric-activated diverter can be put into two of the 4 FEL ports, creating another 2 outlets. The electric toggle switch can be put on the joystick, a simple one-handed operation. The 2 extra hoses can be permanently fixed to the FEL with 2 quick couplings just behind the bucket, so any...

    Intro into Brazing

I totally agree, once you have the bottles and torch your world will open before your eyes, brazing, light steel welding, welding copper with silfos, heating and bending, cutting and more. Here in New Zealand Bunnings hires the bottles, one lifetime cost and when my blood stops pumping my Kids...

Increasing the lift capacity of a FEL

It looks like it should have no problem lifting that weight. Check the pump's pressure, and then, if that's Okay, check the relief valve. When lifting weight, do the cylinders creep down? If so, the cylinder seals may be leaking internally.

Packing/sealing a gravel road after 'resurfacing' / land plane

Here in New Zealand we us Basalt stone on roads and it ends up over the side or filling up the drains down the side of the road. We add a 20% lime chip in the load for problem roads, bad subgrade or steep, and spread that. I grade roads/driveways with my box blade and having tilt in my...

    Buying Advice Homeowner Forklift

Do you have a tractor? I have built 2 forklifts that fit in the 3-point linkage of a tractor. I bought the mast, ram and forks from scrap dealers for a couple of hundred dollars and welded a frame with pins to suit a quick hitch and got hydraulic hoses made. they work well on 20 to 50-hp...

    2015 John Deere 5075

Have you tried resetting the computer? Disconnect the battery, turn on the lights to drain the residual power for 5 minutes, and then reconnect the battery. This sometimes works and is what the dealers will do first.

Gravity-purification in your hydraulic tank (or perhaps better,... on the shelf)

Years ago, I was opening a Quarry, and people objected by putting Ajax, an abrasive cleaner, into the big excavator hydraulic tank (200 gals). That went through the system, pealing and hardening off pump gears. The same was true for hydraulic motors and rams. Then, all the bits were found in the...

    Battery Info

Batteries have a memory. You may be able to bring it back to life by recharging it, but to get the memory of full charge, fit the charger to a good, near-new battery, then jumper cable your old battery to it so both batteries are charging. Leave it overnight, then try it.

3 Point Hitch slow and unintended dropping

If the hydraulics didn't drop before you fitted the additional slice(extra outlet) the problem could be in the additional slice. Some additional slices have a grub screw in them that either has to be either removed or shifted to another hole, this controls the oil flow, power beyond or return to...

    Hydraulic Problem After Hoses Replaced

It looks like it's only leaking when you start the tractor so that narrows the problem down to the pressure feed from the pump to the control and the power beyond hose/pipe. Both steel and high-pressure hose can develop pin holes and the oil mists under high pressure. With the engine running run...

34 Acres and 1/4 mile gravel driveway

I have a 36Hp Iseki and use a 6' box blade. The tractor has a hydraulic top link and hydraulic tilt, this combination is perfect for grading gravel roads and driveways. I found box blades work the best when half full of gravel, it stops them from jumping and allows cutting and filling and with...

    Hydraulic Problem After Hoses Replaced

    Hydraulic Problem After Hoses Replaced

When there is more than one operation, like front-end loader and rear hydraulic outlets one or the other will have power beyond. track the oil flow from the pump and the flow will either go to the rear controls or too the loader control. If it goes to the loader control you will see pressure in...

Can you manually turn the pto hookup on the back of the tractor?

A boy at my school took his dad's PTO out of gear and while looking behind draped his arm over the back of the seat, he hadn't fully disengaged it and it started again wrapping his sleeve, it ripped off most of his arm and it wasn't able to be re-attached. Don't go anywhere near a PTO when the...

    4052R is DEAD

What is the safety starting procedure on your tractor like out of gear, clutch pushed in, high low in neutral, shifting the gear levers in and out a few times, they have sensors that may not be sending the ok message to start. Check their earth and starter to chassis and chassis to cab earth.

My Bulldozer has fittings like that for steel lines with double swage, they are more forgiving for lining up when fitting. If you are fitting "hose" change the fitting to suit hydraulic hose fittings.

John Deere 5205 Top Link Repair

Have had this happen, the hole that the turning handle lets dust and water get in, the lower one seizes first then the top one and they won't screw out as the threads inside are full of dirt and rust from the water. I did free one up by putting penetrating oil into the tube.

Is there a safe way to pump gasoline into a plastic tank in the bed of a truck?

Here in New Zealand, all fuel outlets require the fuel nozzle to be earthed through the hose as a lot of new cars have plastic fuel tanks so along as you touch the nozzle to the tank you should not have any issues.

1974 MF150 Diesel Won't Start Without Jump Starter

Hi, probably your battery, but, Massey Ferguson had some different safety systems, depress the clutch, or, High/low in neutral and I recall one model here in New Zealand had a positive earth. Keep in mind all safety systems are normally a break in the earth—food for thought.
