    Lets see your Mahindra!

She just got home from the dealership, complete brand new motor. Motor was running really loud, and blowing blue smoke, check engine light had come on. Turns out the #2 rod and bearing went out. Dealer said it was due to a miss routed oil return line from the oil cooler, it was pinched behind...

    Options on the new 6065

I am considering trading my 2555 Cab Shuttle for a 6065 cab PS. I haven't seen many write ups about it other than the gentleman with the big hole in the side of the transmission. I use my 2555 for just about everything to include twitching logs, so I would be paying close attention to the...

Snow Equipment Owning/Operating Cutting / Groving / Siping R-4 for snow

One of the critical things to keep in mind when grooving your R4 tires is to not compromise the integrity of the lug to the point where you introduce the possibility of chunking . Grooving to close to the edges of the lug or multiple groves to close together will increase the chances of a lug...

    2555 Tie Down points

I was thinking of using the same type tie down ring that IH782 used but to weld them to the front of the frame as indicated in this picture. Do you think the frame is strong enough there?

    2555 Tie Down points

I was wondering what other have done to secure their tractors to a trailer for transport, the 2555 doesn't have a very good place to attach chains to.

What did you do to or on your Mahindra today?

My 2555 has more than earned its keep over the past few weeks. This weekend it will be doing a lot of backhoe work, removing stumps and digging a trench for a new power cable to the barn.

I have a WoodMaxx 9900 and I love it, it is simply a beast. I do what Roy suggests and use my forester's helmet it helps prevent being slapped in the face by limbs along with good hearing protection. This was the day it arrived.

Snow Equipment Owning/Operating Cutting / Groving / Siping R-4 for snow

DickFoster I didn't really have much of a hard time with cutting through the cold rubber. I did all 4 tires in little more that 90 minutes and that was with the 2 cuts on the rears. I made a pattern on cardboard and used it to draw a line on the lugs, then I just followed the lines. I cut 2...

    Lets see your Mahindra!

I got mine from Reed Supply in St Johnsbury, VT. there was a sale going on and I got the Ingland 4501, 3 slided, 3 chokers, 165 ft of 3/8 cable for $2400. Its an Igland 4501 Winch, the same thing as a Norse 450, the only difference is the paint. I think its great, I use it for my firewood and twitching out Poplar trees to sell to the paper mill. No skid plate, but it sure would be nice... I wonder if there is one available for a 2555.

    Tier-4 fixes coming soon

Yes that pallet in the 1st picture is a one piece but I soon realized that wasn't the way to go when driving over uneven ground, so I started building them 1/2 that size and stacking them when I put them in the wood shed. Each box used 2 pallets and 2ea 1"X6"X8' poplar boards that I milled...

Snow Equipment Owning/Operating Cutting / Groving / Siping R-4 for snow

Well after making a pattern of the lugs I felt that a double grove on the rear would lead to chunking so I came up with a different pattern that would give me a double grove where the lug was thicker and would also allow for the most traction. On the front tires I used a pattern that was shown...

Gradehound.... I understand what your saying about the backhoe, but I don't have the backhoe on in the wintertime. 2555 running cold

Well I'm not looking forward to another cold running tractor this winter. My 2555 runs really cold, last winter the needle on the temp gauge never moved off cold, even after running it for hours. I took it to the dealer and they did some sort of software upgrade and now the gauge will go up...

    Chipper pto driven wood chippers

Do you also have the MX9900? If you do then I'll start keeping a closer eye on that pulley. I wounder if the reason for the problem is because drive pulley runs off the fly wheel shaft and the vibration that is generated from chipping is transferring through to the belt to the pump driven...

Mounting a 8.5' snow plow on a SSQA plate

I used Wild Bill's design and this is how mine came out: I did add some rear shoes to the back of the A frame and it works great. I still need to find a better way to mount my hoses and then when the weather is better, its going to get a fresh coat of paint.
