Always connect the couplers together when removing any attachment with flat face couplers. A change in temperature is enough to pressurize the system.

I hate to say it, but I have had much better luck with provider than Goodyear. I am on my sixth year on providers and, as I recall goodyears only have one good year.

I have done this a lot. My advise is to cut off the old bolts with a grinder and use new self tapping trailer decking bolts. This is more expensive but so much easier!
