    PT-425 Run-on

The lights work with the key turned on but do not light when the key is turned off. That one has me at a loss as to why it helps/affects the engine stopping then with the key off. If I have the lights off with the engine running and turn off the key, the engine will run-on for a significant...

    PT-425 Run-on

I’m not familiar with the diodes for killing the engine. If that is the issue and requires pulling the engine, I’ll probably stick with the light switch. Thanks :)

    PT-425 Run-on

Thanks for the response. I have tried throttling down but that doesn’t solve the issues. I can turn it to off, take the key out and it will continue to run and I used to try choking it out but hit the lights one time and it killed it instantly so that is what I’ve done since. That makes me think...

    PT-425 Run-on

I have a PT-425 with the Subaru in it. My problem is that in order to get the engine to shut off, after I turn the key off, I need to turn on the lights. It makes me think that the ignition is still letting enough juice through to keep the solenoid open and the draw from the lights drops it down...

Finally had the chance to cut the zip ties on the snow blade...

... and it is AWESOME! It took a bit to get the hang of tilting it just right when articulating the blade but after that it made quick work of my driveway. Then I went and did 9 others in the neighborhood. I wasn't accepting cash, but plenty was offered. I did accept getting my fuel topped...

    Sawbuck Feedback

My log bucking rating is about 1/2 a notch above novice. I kick logs around, maybe teeter them on something, aim for 16" and try to keep the chain out of the dirt. I recently took down 11 trees, some maybe 75+ feet tall. Needless to say, I have a lot of cutting to do. I've got a Fiskar X27...

Replacing rear mower wheels with casters?

I swear I've seen a post on this but I cannot find it. For those familiar with the Power Trac mower, the front wheels are casters and the rear wheels are fixed with no swivel action (see attached image). The problem is that, depending on slope and ground conditions, turning can easily cause...

Drilling hole in ROPS of 425 for lighting wire?

I took it for a spin in the dark. While in the garage it seems ridiculous, outside it is approaching perfect. I have full view in the rear even at full turn. The lower ones in the front pointed at about a 45 also make a big difference. Thanks for all the feedback, I couldn't be more pleased...

    Spring Rake Improvement ?

Prior to purchasing my 425, it seemed there was quite a bit of mixed thoughts on the spring rake. I bought the rake anyway. Now maybe I don't know any better, but I LOVE the spring rake. Sticks, brush, grass, leaves, pine needles, you name it. Even though the rake is pretty awesome, there...

Drilling hole in ROPS of 425 for lighting wire?

With the days getting shorter, I'm ready to upgrade Pedro's lighting. I was planning on replacing the stock lights with LED pods and adding two more pods up near the top of the ROPS. I tried searching the forum for what others have done with not much luck. My question is, will a hole just big...

Bad needle / float and warranty work takes forever

In case anyone has a similar issue, the o-ring in question is #22 in the diagram (not exact diagram but pretty darn close to what I have). O-ring I used as a replacement came in a multi-pack from Autozone for $6.99.

Bad needle / float and warranty work takes forever

Since I bought my 425 in April, I had always closed the fuel shut-off valve when I was done with the machine. At 25 hours, one night I failed to do so and the following evening, the machine wouldn't crank. Tried again and it PUKED oil/gas out of the carb. Saw the fuel tank was about dead...

    Power questions on 25hp Subaru

I'm interested in upgrading the lighting situation on my PT-425. I was going to replace the stock lights with LED pods, and hoping to have the juice for an LED bar on the rops and another pod or two I can turn on for reversing. From this page, it seems stock it is 12V@15A, so 180 Watts. Lower...

    *FINALLY* Going to Tazewell

Well, Pedro and I are quickly becoming best friends. (Tractor's name is Pedro BTW after my Grandpa Pete who in his later years got where he was going on his little lawn tractor). I've got about 13 hours on him and couldn't be happier. One thing I have noticed though is when shutting it off...

    *FINALLY* Going to Tazewell

The old house is gone now and unless something drastic happens between now and Friday, I will be departing towards Tazewell with an empty trailer and coming back with a full one. I am looking forward to assimilating and becoming one of you. #TeamPowerTrac

    Rock Trommel

I have a monster amount of old landscape beds full of river rock, dirt, weeds and then whatever I can't see below the surface. My first thought was just using the bucket to scoop it all up and pile it up somewhere and then bring more dirt in to replace. I did a little googling and came across...

    EH72 FI in new PT-425?

I took it a few steps further than the 1850/1860... it gets here Friday. Really though, I've got 1.5 acres and I think anything larger than the 425 is overkill (if the 425 isn't already). So rephrasing to "biggest engine in desired form factor".

    EH72 FI in new PT-425?

I'm getting closer to ordering my PT-425, after a *few* delays, the old house went on the market today. I was reading another post where tmarks11 made a comment about sweet talking Terry into putting in the fuel injected model... so I did just that and gave him a call today. He said "no way"...

I've been lurking/reading a few weeks here, thought I would join and give a shout. I just recently purchased a home on ~1.5 acre lot that has been neglected for a while by the previous owners. I've attached a picture of part of the property to give an idea of what I've got. It has some minor...
