So I went back to this gang set up and did a bunch of passes, the set up is still 1" rear disc off the ground. Is this as good as it gets or do you have other suggestions.

I then put the rear disc straight and that got worse

The third set of passes I adjusted the top link so the rear disc was 1" off the ground and you can see the adjustment to the gangs in the photo. It seems to be getting smoother.

Second two passes I only moved the rear discs one hole opposite from the front instead of two, the trash can lid marks the new passes to the right of the lid.

Thanks for the info Jeff, the UnverFerth dealer gave me this info on their tines, he said you can't run the 7" sweeps on the standard S-tines, only on the heavy duty, so I think it would be wise to order the cultivator with the heaviest S-time they make so I can use any size sweeps that I choose.

Hello Bigtiller, I have many different weeds, your probably right that the fox tails only grow 2' and it's the other variety that grows taller. It's just the foxtails that are a nuisance.

When you buy a QH compatible implement does everyone need to add a bigger bushing for the top link, this size bushing takes up most of the slop except for about 1/8"

Yes these are the bushings that came with the QH, I don't have a pic of the free play but the bushing can move back and forth, I'm guessing 1/8" or more of free play, just enough to allow it to hammer back and forth.

If you look under your 2038R, what filter does it have on it, the longer LVU800097 or the shorter LVA16054?

The picture I posted might be misleading because it does not show the other end of the rotor, both ends of the rotor have two drilled and taped holes for bolted on weights along with welded on weights, and the manual is saying to adjust the weights if your using fine cut or ruff cut blades...

Flail-Master was kind enough to email me the manual for my Bush hog FH188 and it appears that the style of blades that are on my flail never came on this model, and the manual says that there are adjustment weights that are also missing, maybe that's why I'm getting a vibration.

Thanks for everyone's help and ideas. Most of the bolts are pretty bad except for the one in the pictures. Is this just a standard carriage bolt that holds the blades on or does it need to be something special, grade 5 or anything like that. There where no lock washers just a bolt and a nut.
