Using a Disc for the first time

Every bit of information and links you guys have posted I already printed and made a hard copy and read it. The thing that gets tricky is that when the threepoint goes into the ground the angle changes so it's not that easy to figure out percentages of depth, especially if you have it on float...

Using a Disc for the first time

Hi, thanks for posting, I really don't have a plan I'm kinda just learning how to use these attachments, I want to plant a crop when I get time. I do understand that a disc is not going to get the dirt smooth, I just wanted to learn how to adjust the disc so I could operate it as smooth as...

Using a Disc for the first time

So I went back to this gang set up and did a bunch of passes, the set up is still 1" rear disc off the ground. Is this as good as it gets or do you have other suggestions.

Using a Disc for the first time

The third set of passes I adjusted the top link so the rear disc was 1" off the ground and you can see the adjustment to the gangs in the photo. It seems to be getting smoother.

Using a Disc for the first time

I read all your guys info and took the info out to the Tractor today to see what I could do, the first three passes are with the front disc touching the ground and the rear about 2" above the ground, I changed the back angle of the disc two holes difference from the front, and I'm letting the...

Why can't you put sweeps on a single row cultivator?

This is a TSC single row cultivator made by Behlen Country, I called Behlen today and asked if I could put sweeps on their cultivator and they said no. Rotor tiller oil leak.

I have under ten hours on this new tiller and I have an oil leak, I was able to tighten the bolts up about 1/8" turn and I will keep an eye on it to see if it stops. Is this kind of leak common on new implements. I'm guessing there must be a paper gasket between the two parts.

What implement works best for controlling weeds, foxtails.

Thanks for the info Jeff, the UnverFerth dealer gave me this info on their tines, he said you can't run the 7" sweeps on the standard S-tines, only on the heavy duty, so I think it would be wise to order the cultivator with the heaviest S-time they make so I can use any size sweeps that I choose.

That is so funny  I had to do the same thing you did with the goat heads, after it rained I would go out with a trash can, dust pan, and knee pads, pull the goat head plant out by hand then sweep all the stickers from under the plant, and I did this with five acres. I could not...

  31. C

Quick hitch or direct connect to three point ?

I took some better pics to show the free play you have with a quick hitch, the top hook has the most. Another thing I noticed with a QH is if you have your three point all the way down to draft the latches are what is pushing on the bushings instead of being retained in the curve. I just feel...
  32. C

Quick hitch or direct connect to three point ?

Yes these are the bushings that came with the QH, I don't have a pic of the free play but the bushing can move back and forth, I'm guessing 1/8" or more of free play, just enough to allow it to hammer back and forth.

Do PTO drive shafts have different ratings, I see some are yellow and mine is black, is color an indications of class. If I cut my drive shaft and then latter on decide to go with a quich hitch or Pat's will my drive shaft be to short? If a tiller says maximum tilling depth is 7 1/2" deep how...

Any words of caution, buying a 2016 JD 2032R tomorrow.

JD arrived today from MN. :D. I bought the Titan forks and ballast box, the welding on the forks is ok not great, the welding on the ballast box is horrible and the three point pin was bent, but I really wasn't expecting something great for the price, I want to put my money into a good tiller...

    Sicma vs Ansung tiller

I can't make up my mind between the Sicma T5-60 made in Italy or the Ansung yjco62 made in Korea tillers. I have a JD2032R, tractor hp 31.7, PTO hp 23.5, tire width is 55". I will be tilling three acres of soft decomposed granite, after it rains you can dig it with a spoon and it's not very...

These manufacturers put out all types of advertising boasting about the quality of their products they produce and then...
