I hope I can prevent this from happening to other operators.

Glad to hear you survived what could have been a lethal situation. Here's wishing you a speedy and full recovery and don't forget follow all instructions from your physical therapist. Best regards.

    New Kubota Corrosion

It's great to hear that your dealer stepped up and made efforts to fix what they could. Just curious - was it the dealer in Plaistow - or the dealer in Milford?

New wood shed, and how do you rotate stored firewood?

I'm also a believer in IBC totes. I've got 32 totes and burn appx. 5 cords per year. I just place the empty totes next to the splitter and split wood goes directly from splitter into the tote - but I stack my wood into the tote. A 275 gal. tote will hold 3/8 of a cord if it is stacked. I also...

    Heroes of the past (Oshkosh)

Thanks for posting - that's a pretty interesting place. It's only a little over an hour drive from my place. Would be well worth the drive. Now my wife will be totally convinced I need to get my head examined!

Another Newbie looking to buy a tractor

Congratulations on your choice of Kioti. I think they make good tractors. As I have been following this thread - I am thinking you are located in southern Maine. If this is true - did you order from the Kioti dealer in Lebanon, Maine?

Another Newbie looking to buy a tractor

I agree with Carl NH. That L47TLB at $42K and 500 hours is a good deal. If you are nervous about buying used - ask around to see if you can hire a mechanic from a Kubota dealer "on the side" to come with you to view the used machine. However - at $42K, I don't think it will last too long. I...

Alternatives to John Deere 110 TLB?

I've got a Kubota L-47 and like it a lot. It only has appx. 350 hours on it and I use it mostly for backhoe/loader/fork/grapple work and have been very happy with it's performance. I did get the 3 point hitch kit with it but have not used that to this point.

Opinions - Replace B21 TLB with this B26 TLB?

Hi Carl: I can't comment on the black soot - but all the service on my L-47 has been done by our local Kubota dealer in Milford, NH (where I bought it). It currently has a white oil filter on it - but I seem to recall that they may have put a grey filter on it when they did an oil change. I...

Will a Rented Excavator Take Care of my Oak Stumps?

Here in NH you can rent (from a Kubota dealer) a KX-080 excavator (9 tons) with AC for $500.00/day or $1800.00/week plus a fee of $250.00 for round trip pick-up and delivery. I am quite sure that 2 days with this machine would easily allow you to rip out 15 stumps and handle the buried boulders.

    Kubota L47 fork capacity

It will do it. I also frequently move 1 ton pallets of wood pellets with my L47TLB and my forks are 42" Tomahawk (300#). That backhoe on the rear of your L47 is a pretty good counterweight.

snow blower on my john deere 425 lawn tractor stops when I back up

I had the same issue on my John Deere 345 GT. If you go onto You-Tube and state your issue - you should find 3 or 4 remedies whereby inserting a 4" long wire into the back of the switch that controls the PTO will bypass that feature.

    Quonset Hut vs Conainer

    Firewood pallet

I agree - IBC totes is my choice. I now have a total of 32 of them and when I have them all full - I have 3 years of wood available. I built a platform on the rear of my house that holds 4 IBC totes which is on same level as my wood stove and therefore I can load from totes into 4 wheel wagons...

I must have been asleep at the switch - but I would definitely be in favor of a "new TLB" thread.

    Seasoning Firewood

I stack the wood in the totes and I estimate appx. 3/8 cord per tote when done this way. Currently I am burning mostly Ash - but occasionally I will fill them with green Oak and my tractor still moves them, but I can tell there is considerable weight on the end of the forks.

    Seasoning Firewood

I agree on the IBC totes. I now have 30 totes and plastic lids which equates to almost 3 years of wood supply for my use. I also stack the split wood directly into the totes from the splitter and also built a deck off my back door that will hold 4 totes at a time. I have since bought 2 rubber...

2 wheel tractor dead man switches - what is your preference?

I bought a used Gravely Pro 10 that had a dead-man switch which was disabled by the previous owner. I used it in this manner for a few years and then took in to a dealer for service. They advised me that before they released it from their service dept, - (from a liability standpoint) - they...

Moving and need to buy a new TLB next year.

I would agree - buy a full sized used TLB such as Case 580 or equivalent with cab and 4 wheel drive. Try to get one that's not all used up and use it for 5 years for road building, snow plowing, foundation digging, stump removal, etc. and then sell it for what you paid. Then buy a smaller...

Buying Kioti HST 40hp for the farm-Advice?

You state that the new machine will need to do some heavy work. I agree - keep the Case 580 - you will never match the output that you get from that machine.

    JD 345 Snowblower

Yes, I do use a snowblower on my GX345. The power steering and hydraulic lift will make life much easier when using the blower. Also - I would recommend that you do a web search of modifying the snowblower using 2 pieces of belting that measure 3" x 5" x 3/8" thick. When these are mounted on...

    Kioti zero turn mowers

I have a Scag Cheetah as well. I mow one acre of lawn around the house and 2-3 acres of fields that are not as smooth. The Cheetah's suspension system helps to soften the ride - especially in the fields and I can't say enough good things about quality of cut from the Velocity deck.

    Would You Loan It Out?

I totally agree with the above. I would venture a guess that he will never be your friend and will only be a "taker" as long as you have a relationship with him. Drive your tractor over to his place and get your tiller for "some work that needs to be done at your place immediately."

    BEWARE - T-N-T CARPORTS

Just trying to take the temperature of our membership regarding T-N-T Carports in Mt. Airy, NC. Here's my story: I ordered a carport from my local dealer in Jan. 2021 (and gave a deposit). They advised that delivery from TNT Carports should be May, 2021. I began to call the factory at TNT in...

Help me decide - Husvarna GT48DXLS or Simplicity Prestige

I agree - the Simplicity with power lift and power steering would definitely be the better choice if used with a snowblower. I have a John Deere GX345 with hydraulic lift and power steering and use it exclusively for snowblowing. My neighbors with newer John Deeres' with manual lift and...

Anyone having issues with delivery on metal carports?

Just wondering - is anyone having problems with metal carport deliveries? I ordered a metal carport from T-N-T Carports in Mt. Airy, NC thru my local dealer. It was ordered in Jan. 21 and local dealer advised delivery in May, 21. I started calling(and leaving messages) at the mfg. plant in...

Looking at the L4060 have some Questions

I use many IBC totes for firewood. Most of them are the 275 gal. size - but I also have 6 of the 330 gal variety. When I load them with green oak (to slightly higher than the top) I estimate their weight to be 2800-2900#. When I lift these with my L-47 TLB it does not struggle - but I can tell...

    back hoe side saddle?

Only reason not to do this is when you drive back into your barn and forget backhoe has been rotated. I did this once and it left a "mark" on the side of the door framing. Now I am reminded of what an idiot I can be when ever I drive into the barn.

    TITAN ATTACHMENTS TRENCHING BUCKET?

Hello Fried: Just an idea - You might try Brookside Equipment Sales in Phillipston, Mass. They show several used heavy duty excavator pin-on buckets on the Equipment Trader website. Pricing for 12" wide seems to run $200 - $300. The Kubota Q/A weld-on bucket "ears" are $75-$100 on ebay. If...

    zero turn mowers EXPENSIVE

I bought a 52" Scag Cheetah from JM Hayden in Newfields, NH 3 years ago. It rides very smoothly and I love it - but I realize it's a little different suspension set-up. I would think that a quality suspension seat would help to smooth out your very rough ride!

    Backhoe Buckets & Attachments

I believe Werk-Brau out of Findlay, Ohio makes backhoe buckets for Kubota. My L-47 has the BT1000 backhoe and 24" bucket. I bought it with the K7543 excavator quick connect and it will take any bucket or attachment that fits a Kx040 excavator. I just bought a Werk-Brau 24" ripper tooth and...

    Kubota L-47 onboard storage ideas

Hello everyone - here are a couple of things I have done to increase storage on my new L-47. 1. - 4" PVC pipe with bottom cap for chain storage (I got this idea from another poster here on TBN). 2. ATV mesh basket for under canopy storage. ( I bought a 13" wide x 37-1/2" wide x 6-1/2" deep...

Front-End Loader  3 pt. attachents mounted to loader

Just wondering - has anyone with SSQA style loader used 3 pt. attachents on their loader? I was thinking of buying a SSQA mount plate that is already welded to 3 pt. quick hitch. Would then mount my 72" Land Pride land plane to my loader and use on my 600 ft gravel driveway by driving in...
