Yes. The SCV does operate a cylinder now.

I know this is an old thread, but figured I'd report my findings. I finally opened up the SCV to find a poppet valve of one of the pressure valves was all gummed up and stuck. It's spring was even stuck in a compressed position to the valve. I cleaned it all up and reassembled it.

I judged TDC by hand. Is there a better way without a dial indicator? I also read about timing gear backlash and I definitely did not over rotate and come back to adjust for that so maybe that's something else I need to try.

Are the pump marks supposed to line up at first piston TDC? Or just before TDC?

I used a fishing line with a loop in it to wrap around the crank shaft, then using a straight edge to ensure the line was in the middle of the shaft.

I couldn't seem to locate a grease zerk when I looked through the inspection window. Maybe some tractors didn't have them installed? Is there any way that I could grease the throwout bearing without a zerk, or anything else I could try?

Is there a specific type of grease I should use for that? Or just the all purpose stuff u use for everything else?
