I push them over with the D7, burn the piles.

Hammer Flail vs Forestry Mulcher vs Brush Hog vs Brush Hog with chains.

look for a Brown Tree Cutter, they are extremely heavy duty bush hogs.

    Brown Tree Saw

I'd hire it done with a big skid steer and cutter. I have a T870 with a Spartan brush cutter, it would chop through them easily at ground level. A disc mulcher would work even better.

    Wallenstein FX 85 Tractor Size

I'm looking at a Wallenstein FX 85 that's being sold used. Is it a good size for a Ford 5610? I have two, one 2wd and one 4wd both with front weight (counterweights on one, loader on the other). Most of the users seem to be running this winch on compact tractors, not full size. Am I likely to...

    T650 vs T870

I really like my T870 for capacity but the biggest issue is I can't move it. I have a F350 with 26k plates but I can't go over a 16k gvwr trailer or I'd need a CDL. And since I wouldn't need to move it much I don't think a CDL is worth it.

I'm trying to decide between a mini digger like this and a John Deere 690. Not very similar but I have uses for both

    Diggit TH76 Mulcher

    Minneapolis Moline G950

I'll probably pass on this one, its a little too old for occasional hard use and I don't need something else with hard to source parts. I will probably look for a good condition Ford 7600 or similar machine.

    Minneapolis Moline G950

So it should be fine in front of a bush hog all day in heavy grass and weeds. My 5610 struggles too hard with the HX10 and I want something that can handle it better. But I also don't want something that will be hard to get parts for and be too delicate for what I need it for.

    Backhoe vs Tractor with backhoe

I found its better for me to rent a decent sized mini ex for when I need it, not invest in a backhoe. The mini ex is much faster and easier to use, and I don't have to maintain it. The prices are insane though, if I ever buy an excavator it is much cheaper to get a 50k lb machine compared to a...

    Minneapolis Moline G950

There is a Minneapolis Moline g950 for sale nearby, asking 5500 and it has 2200 hours on it. It is the diesel version and it runs, but hasn't been used in a while. I have a couple Ford 5610s for most of my chores but I could use a 100 hp machine to pull the bush hog around. Is it a good tractor...

    Diggit TH76 Mulcher

I have a Bobcat T870 so its a pretty powerful machine, so it could probably tear it up. I'm seeing these mulchers go for around 4500 on some auctions, where a used Loftness is 15k or more. But if teeth can't be obtained and its poorly balanced its a trade off.
  15. N

    Diggit TH76 Mulcher

I'm seeing some of these Diggit TH76 mulchers for sale, pretty cheap. I assume they are chinese import but I can't find anyone who has used one. They look to be better than the Topcat mulchers with teeth that actually overlap. It would be for farm use and not for business so I can't justify the...

    DR Field and Brush mower

I like the Swisher 44" the best of them all for the simple reason that it uses a stump jumper and swinging blades, not a fixed blade like the others. I've had mine for about 7 years now, used on some rough material. Burned a few belts up but that's it. It will hammer through a 3" sapling without...

    Nail Gun Opinions

I have a Dewalt 20v framing nailer, Bostitch air nailer, and a Milwaukee M18 framing nailer. I liked the Dewalt but it was a little underpowered, the Milwaukee is the way to go. Its as fast as my air nailer and as powerful. I built my whole barn with it and not having a compressor or hose was...

Bush Hog 306 or Brown Tree Cutter

I was looking at a Brown Tree Cutter for clearing some severely overgrown areas but I ended up with a skid steer mower. I bought a Bobcat T870 for storm cleanup and ended up getting a Spartan Attachments brush cutter. It's an 84" model, 3 blades with mulching teeth bolted to the stump jumper...

The one thing that you wonder why you didn't buy sooner?

Battery powered large impact wrench, I can't imagine not having one now. Same with a shop press, idk why dad would never buy one. I bought one and use it all the time during repairs. For large purchases a tracked bobcat, I picked up a T870 and its so useful I couldn't not have one.

    Rotary Cutting Need to Knows!

you need a heavier bush hog lol. Those little shear pin models just aren't made for it. The ones with slip clutches can usually take more abuse, and then you don't have to deal with shear pins. Though for that kind of field a mulcher is more appropriate.

    Rotary Cutting Need to Knows!

I will warn that my 72 hp Ford tractor will power the HX10 but its not happy about it. John Deere says that it can be run with as little as 45 hp which is complete BS, no way a 45 hp tractor could do anything except move it around the yard. I also wouldn't use the HX10 with a 3 pt hitch on less...

    Rotary Cutting Need to Knows!

I use a Woods Cadet 72 for trimming and a John Deere HX10 for large areas and roadside mowing. I'm getting rid of the Cadet because I rarely use it now, I highly reccomend the HX10 though, its a great mower.

    Lely hay rake quality

I am looking at this old flail mower, the seller doesn't know what brand it is though. It's 8' wide with Y-shaped blades and 540 PTO. Tractor vs Skid Steer Loader Specs

But my T870 can't pull the square baler at all, can't pull the hay mower so fast that parts fall off, or pull a 10' bush hog. It also doesn't do as nice of a job grading the road as a 3 ph does. But it can push trees around, dig with the bucket, carry very heavy pallets, and use a mulcher.

Tractor vs Skid Steer Loader Specs

its like comparing the old Gehl skid steer to my Bobcat T870, 40 hp vs 100 hp tracked. The CTL is a beast compared to any tractor loader I've ever used.

Tractor vs Skid Steer Loader Specs

You said wheels on their skid steer. I've used the wheeled and tracked versions, they are very different. The wheeled aren't very good for traction but the tracked are great. A T870 would easily push more than a 150 hp tractor in most cases, I've used mine to pull concrete trucks out of mud holes.

Tractor vs Skid Steer Loader Specs

I have Bobcat T870, the lifting capacity is massive, it has a 11,000 lb tipping load. I have a tractor loader which I still use occasionally because I have better visibility and travel speed but that's it. I doubt even a 150 hp tractor could compete with a T870 for loader work. The problem is...

    Ditch Witch R65

A local used lot is selling a Ditch Witch R65 with the V4 Wisconsin gas motor in it, asking 1200$. PICS OF BARNS; Any barns; All barns; My barn; Your barn; Not your barn

Grapple ideas and how are these companies?

I bought a Construction Attachments Inc grapple for my skid steer, I don't think there is a better made grapple out there. Downside is its expensive with about six week lead time. I bought this one because I wanted something my T870 couldn't tear up. I really like it, very sturdy build, large...

    Pull behind brush cutter

I've been beating on mine for the last ten years or so, the only weak point is the hitch that I had to add a piece of angle iron to reinforce. Kunz builds a rough cut mower, very expensive but it uses heavy fixed blades. The DR has swinging blades but no stump jumper. The swisher is pretty heavy...

    JD 1360 Advice

There's a JD 1360 near me that's a good price, but I'm not sure I can pull it. I have a Ford 5610 that I use with a mounted 9' disc mower currently and it runs it as fast as the terrain will allow, often 6th gear in the flat land. Now is 1360 too much mower especially on hills? Its all grass hay...

    Deere MX10 Long Term Experience

I bought an HX10 a few years ago, its a monster. I pull it with a Ford 5610 and it will struggle on steep hills and heavy brush. I'd go for an HX10 if you can power it, it has a better PTO driveline mainly.

    Mulchers

Any good bush hog could take care of it, I run a JD HX10 behind a Ford 5610 MFWD and it will shred saplings up to 3" or so into mulch without any problem. A mulcher isn't worth it for material that small.

    Pull behind brush cutter

The swisher 44" with the larger 14.5 hp motor is the best one you can get I think, way better than the DR or the Kunz. Those other two are way overpriced and don't have the swinging blades and stump jumper. I pull it with a Grizzly 450, never overheats even in late summer, but mine is one with...

    Skid Steer Mower Width

This can come with carbide teeth. MTL has some reviews I don't like, though I've looked into the Rut model. I'd be running it on a 2011 Bobcat T870 that has a forestry kit on it.

    Skid Steer Mower Width

    Skid Steer Mower Width

I'm buying a heavy brush cutter for my Bobcat, a T870 and of the three I've narrowed it down to the only thing I haven't decided is width yet. My Bobcat is about 1" under 7' wide to the outside of the tracks. Is it better to have a cutter that cuts a path wider than the tracks or not? The...

What is The Best Mid-Size Skid Steer?

I just picked up a Bobcat T870 recently, its a great machine but not mid sized in any way. Its so heavy I can't move it on my gooseneck. But I like how long its track base is compared to other models, feels well balanced compared to other machines I tried.

    T650 vs T870

    T650 vs T870

I'm looking into buying a newer Bobcat CTL, the two I'm looking at now are a 2011 T870 and a 2012 T650. The main thing I'll be doing is dirt work, leveling and digging. Might do some mowing but not much planned since I have a few bush hogs and two tractors. Both have joystick controls, ~2000...
