    MF 135 Valve Springs

Ok so my original question is resolved - sticking with the original single spring set up. But I now have another query.... Each valve stem has a small O ring just sat on the stem. I cant find any reference to this in any of the manuals or on parts suppliers sites. Although some refer to a stem...

    MF 135 Valve Springs

Hi, Hoping someone can help...... I have the head off my 1968 MF135, engine is an AD3 152 perkins engine. Going to get it skimmed as it has been blowing bubbles into the coolant. Anyway, I have noticed that the valves are fitted with single springs, all the replacement kits I have found all...

MF135 Cylinder Head Rear Core Plug

Well, in my post above I said that I changed all the other core plugs as a precaution, well, I changed them all apart from the one just behind the injector pump (didn't fancy taking the pump off). Yes, you guessed it - Fired her up today and that plug decided to start leaking - That will teach...

    MF135 Alternator Conversion

Thanks for all the replies :) This morning I fabricated a new bracket and everything is good now - Fired up and getting a good charge from the alternator, and the wiring sure looks neater under the dash than the Dynamo loom did! Thanks again :)

    MF135 Alternator Conversion

Has anyone carried out a dynamo to alternator conversion on an MF135 ? I'm in the middle of the job and have come against a problem - The original dynamo tensioning arm does not fit with the alternator, it sits on the wrong side of the alternator casting and fouls on the pulley fan. Looks like...

MF135 Cylinder Head Rear Core Plug

Sorry, But in the UK it's a core plug :) : Wikipedia Link "The slang term "freeze plug" was coined many decades ago out of ignorance of the true purpose of the core plugs-they were never designed to be displaced by water freezing inside the block due to a lack of an anti-freeze/water mixture...

MF135 - Can Anyone Identify Please

Hi, Have the 1968 MF135 stripped for some other work and am slightly puzzled with my Dashboard layout - Maybe the tractor started life as an Industrial version? (traces of yellow paint under the red) Firstly I seem to have an extra gauge on the dash (the LH big one in the photo below) this is...

MF135 Cylinder Head Rear Core Plug

That's a little better..... Changed all the other core plugs at the same time as they were all past their best. While I have it in bits I will fit an alternator conversion and replace the very dodgy looking wiring....

MF135 Cylinder Head Rear Core Plug

Well I have answered my own question - Stripped out the battery tray and can now get at the core plug. I would STRONGLY suggest that if you ever split the engine on a 135 then you change this plug as a precaution - as taking out the battery carrier is a hell of a job! Anyway - I think the plug...

MF135 Cylinder Head Rear Core Plug

Hi, Thanks for the reply - yes that is the item. However, My question was how much of a strip would I need to do to replace this? I have fuel tank off now and looking to remove the battery tray structure - then i think I may have just enough room? If anyone can add anything to this then that...

MF135 Cylinder Head Rear Core Plug

Hi, This weekend the core plug at the back of the cylinder head on my 1968 MF135 decided to spring a large leak (Perkins AD3 152 engine). Has anyone changed one of these before? Is it possible to replace with the cylinder head attached to the block? In general I need to know how far to strip...

Pick Up Hitch / Drawbar - MF 135

My MF 135 seems to have a Ferguson TE20 pick up hitch fitted as per the item photo attached. I need to fit a drawbar to pull a baler - what would you suggest I get / do to convert to allow drawbar use? or can I convert the baler to work on the pickup hitch hook? Many Thanks

    Anyone Lost a Spanner?

Just thought I would share this. Thought I should clean & change filters on my newly acquired MF135. Dropped the oil bath air filter and found a brand new 10mm spanner sat inside. Certainly wasnt going to rust.....

    MF135 - Gears and PTO

Hi All, Quick couple of questions regarding the PTO operation on my 1968 MF135 (Diesel) which is still quite new to me. 1) My pto selection lever seems very short - the end of it is just behind the handbrake operating mechanism link - meaning I have to stop and lean over to select / deselect...
