I don't use the 240V mode but I think its running wattage is 5,500W and a starting wattage of 7,000W. I use a custom cable to get two 30A in the 125V mode.

I use the EU7000i generator for home back-up and use it in the 120V mode for more power.

The 445 engine is running fine now or same as it was back when I stopped using it for a significant hydraulic leak which is now fixed. With new spark plugs it runs great but after several hours of run time they start to foul and an increase exhaust smoke.

I just did my 50 hour and removing the two hydraulic filters were extremely difficult to break loose, much worse than the Kioti. I ended up getting these to break it loose ... but it did puncture the filter

I was looking at this: 2023 TYM Parts Kit Catalog It does show the same filters for T494 and T574.

The original HST filter was 15532302100 and its mounted vertically but newer models use 19265154110 which is mounted horizontally. I wonder if they changed that because the vertically mounted filter was hanging too low and could get damaged easier.

The [WD-724/6] Mann and Hummel Hydraulic Transmission Filter is what TYM put on my tractor so I feel confident and it would pass the warranty issue. Was the T494 ever a Branson badged version or just TYM?

I agree with ~12" being a safe max for a stump bucket. Anything bigger I call in the dozer. Getting all those meaty roots first is the key to success. If your tractor can't handle that its not a tractor.

That's why I have a dump trailer and the local landfill is free. I don't do burn piles anymore. I do still stump grind if I know a stump left underground won't be a future problem. I will also hire a local dozer guy to push over the big trees for me.

The dealer I purchased from also suggested swapping the rear tires/rims to get a wider footprint which they did. My T494 is more stable on hills than my NX50 Kioti and I don't even get close to that feeling I'm near the tipping point but then again I don't put the tractor in a position to get close.

Negotiating a price is common practice on certain products. Requesting a discount because you are paying with cash is a different but related situation and its not something I have seen as a common practice.

Thank you everyone for all the good feedback! It helped in my decision. I decided against a subcompact and bought a TYM 48hp, a T494 cab which will replace my Kioti NX5010. I'm going to continue to use a riding lawn mower for the portion of my property that a compact tractor is too big and heavy.

I currently have ~8 acres with ~5 that I mow but I'm going to be buying more property starting with ~4 acres and this is all wooded land that I will start working. I did decide and purchased a 48hp TYM tractor to replace my NX.

I've been working these hills for over a decade now and this new tractor is pretty much "Meet the new boss same as the old boss".

Yup... it can get hot and humid here but not as much as the deep south. Working in the heat/humidity can wear you out quicker and if you happen to run over a yellow jacket nest you just watch them knocking on the window.

Not sure about the weight differences but for the T494 these are the spec numbers and the spec numbers are about equivalent to my Kioti NX5010 Cab.

This is one of the reasons I picked the T494 over the T474. The T494 has corner windows that open where you can keep the cab from heating up without the AC on a cooler day. My NX50 has this and I open those windows in the spring and fall.

I agree 100% I'm giving up on subcompacts and compacts with less than 25hp, with or without a cab. For me to be happy its got to be a 30hp and above and probably with a cab.

I'm now leaning towards the same thoughts. I don't think I would be happy trying to do everything with a subcompact even though it can be done but with smaller implements/attachments and longer work time. As they say ... buying a tractor can be a journey.

Is a subcompact under 25hp engine enough power to maintain a under 15 acre property where the tasks are mowing w/ mid mower, finish mower, brush hogging, stump grinding, hole digging, box blade and typical loader work? I have owned a 35hp and 50hp so I'm a little uneasy getting a under 24hp.

Well I wanted to make the T25 work but it turns out you can't have a mid mount mower and a backhoe, its one or the other. The Kioti cs2520 is now the leading contender.
