    58" Tiller on a L2501?

My L2501 HSD has no problem with the land pride RTA 1258 (forward tine rotation). Like others stated, going slow and allowing the tiller to work is key to success. I have heavy soil and have no problems. If new ground, start shallow and increase depth once the soil is broken.

    Identify tree via bark?

Nice quality lumber trees and the oaks are suited for veneer logs and valuable. I would contact a forester, not a logger, they are two different strokes. The forester can tell you if they can be sold for lumber. They will remove the trees and deliver them to the best mills. Take the money and...

    No more 'treadle pedal'

I love the treadle pedal on my tractor and hate the JD I have to drive when I volunteer to cut grass at the Church camp. Every tractor should have a treadle pedal. The World would be a better place.

Current pricing L2501 and transmission choice

The holes are in the fender with tape across them. Simply buy the handle with the hardware from Kubota and add it on. Not having it on the tractor saves folks that don't need it or want it (like me) $50.00.

    New L3902HST Price

The treadle pedal is a plus. Buy cheap and say later I wish I woulda! If you owned a Kubota, you would never trade it for a cheaper Kioti ...trust me on that.

Current pricing L2501 and transmission choice

The L2501 is not going to have a 02 series in the future. It is going to remain as is with a better price point option.

Tractor Supply seed snafu, hard to believe...

It's the same problem here with Fleet Farm stores. Oil on sale wasn't on the shelf. Asked the clerk if they had any in stock? He said yep, we do, I'll be right back. Carried the two 5Qt bottles I asked for and never restocked the shelf for the next guy who will have to ask the same thing.

Current pricing L2501 and transmission choice

Good to hear you found the dealer you like. Did you actually purchase a tractor then? They won't be any cheaper than they are now. I could sell mine for more now than I paid for it a year ago.

Current pricing L2501 and transmission choice

Nope they will only allow one discount to be used. My dealer only stocks the HST model also. The E series JD is way less tractor and I would check out the Messick's video with the comparison. My dealer loves to make the comparison of the E to the L.

    Should I trade my L2501

Maybe not wait so long between cuttings and take alot of stress off the cutter and the tractor...That's what I would do.

And now turkey and chicken ....

We love the wild turkey here also .... simply brazing them until they fall off the bones works every time. If it's tough, it's not the bird, it's the cook's fault. No such thing as a tough bird.

And now turkey and chicken ....

I have a flock of 24 hens in one coop and 7 roo's in a separate coop. I incubate 24 eggs every year and the extra roo's eventually are butchered. Thought I'd share this on wood ash

Great information Raul. My only heat is wood and supplies me with more than enough hardwood ashes. I can attest to applying more than needed wood ashes to the gardens here with heavy soil. The biggest issue with over application here was the black ash like scabs that grew on the potatoes ...

    Block Heaters 24/7

When my dealer delivered my new tractor, his instructions were to only plug the block heater in for a hour before trying to start the tractor. The heaters don't have a thermostat and run non-stop. No need to overdo it. Just sayin.

    L3301 or similar

Just my opinion, but I would forget the pulverizer and go with the L2501 and HST. The one implement isn't worth the regen problems and extra cost of 8 more HP.....I would run the numbers on the L2501 HST and see how that figures out. The 2501 will do everything you need.

    L Series owners

Yep (L2501) it's the perfect size tractor to replace a Ford 8N or 9N with so much more power and live hydraulics and 4 wheel drive. I'm really happy with my choice for my really hilly rocky 60 acres. The QH and implements make working fun again!

    Farm UTV/RTV Purchase

I bought a Polaris 900 xp new in 2014. It is a real work horse and gets the real workout on or steep rocky hills here. Hauling 1,000 lbs of firewood while also pulling a small trailer full of wood is no problem. I've only needed to replace the battery last year and regular oil changes and...

    Potatoes

Gardens are a true labor of love. I'm able to share hundreds of dollars worth of produce to others, because it gives me purpose somehow. Make your rows wide for room to work....till at least every 21 days to stay ahead of the vermin (weeds). It is amazing how much food one can raise in a garden...

    Pto Tiller choices

I have a Land Pride RTA1258 that I run with my L2501. It's a beast and does a wonderful job. In new areas I scrape with the box blade first to eliminate all the tall grass and small brush. Three passes on heavy ground and it's good to go for planting.

    L2501 vs LX2610

For anyone about to purchase a real tractor, the L2501 is the perfect size up above the garden tractor size. It's large enough to do real work in the woods and on the fields. I'm totally happy with my tractor and would buy it again like I did the first time.

    L2501 vs LX2610

I didn't order the right grab handle....wish I woulda... they are around $55 to add later. Not really sure I need it though. It's nice to lean on the fender when looking back without the handle in the way too.

    L2501 vs LX2610

I love my L2501 HST and could not be happier. It has done everything I tried to do with it, and almost always in 2 wheel drive. Ripping new areas with the box blade needs the front assist, and nice option to have....and the front end loader is sweet and smooth. It's been raining for days here...

Talk me OUT of buying a 1025R please...

Take a look at the L2501 Kubota. Weighs more than the e series Jd and more lifting capabilities than a e series jd. 3 speed hydro tranny on the Kubota and jd is only 2 speed. Larger front axles on the Kubota as well.

That was 18 minutes of painful bias toward Yanmar...first 3 minutes when they compare cost, it's the added warranty that add plus k's to the price of Kubota to keep Yanmar in the ballbark for a inferior tractor to the Kubota. Additional cost to the price that is not necessary ... with service...

Kubota L3901 HST vs. Kioti 4010SE HST Compact Tractor Pricing

Kubota L3901 HST vs. Kioti 4010SE HST Compact Tractor Pricing

My L2501 will be delivered this week. I really don't think you will see price discounts any time this year. Kubota just had a 3% price increase in Jan By not buying sooner it cost me a additional K for waiting. Supply is not going to improve any time soon with all the backorders dealers are...

“Buy the dealer, not the machine” is outdated

For me, it was the dealer first and price a close second. I have a JD dealer 2 minutes from home and a Kubota dealer 30 minutes away. The JD dealer was just bought by a huge dealer and some of the longtime employee left when they changed hands. I talked to my neighbor who just purchased a new...
