Minnesota to try and ban gas powered equipment

I just wonder... Under what authority does the gubmint have the power to regulate any of this? It's not in the constitution.

    Seasoning Firewood

And I forgot to mention, for the last 2 years we burned almost nothing but ash for 2 years thanks to the boring beetle. I only took down the cherry to make room for my orchard. The cherry definitely burns hotter. The woodshed greenhouse really seems to get it dry.

    Seasoning Firewood

I use a 25 ton hydraulic splitter, I've never tried splitting cherry by hand so I couldn't tell you.

    Seasoning Firewood

When we bought our farm, it came with a 12X24 corrugated wood shed. The south facing wall was rusted out. After welding up the old steel frame we used the poly clear roof panels as the wall. So I kind of made a wood greenhouse. It is full of cherry that was cut and split last spring and has...

That is a great idea! I live in snow country too. The 933 looks perfect. I would want 3 though, wellhouse, sump pump and pellet stove.

Has anyone tried Carolina Reaper Chili Pepper Powder?

My wife makes a pickled jalapeno called "Cowboy candy" it is excellent. Just the right amount of heat, great flavor. I use it on everything, dogs, burgers and sausages.

Has anyone tried Carolina Reaper Chili Pepper Powder?

The snow is falling up north here, now its chili season! I won't do the reaper either, the hot covers the taste. I'm a Thia 4 on the scale, I was told "Heroes go over 5, don't be a hero".

    Cowboy boot care

I have 2 pair of Ariats, one pair for working the farm, one pair for town/church. Both my pair are well broke in and stand up just fine until someone knocks them over. Im planning on getting a pair of Tacovas, they are nice looking boots and are supposed to be quality.

What type of gun is this?

"I got a friend" right up there with "I know somebody". Makes you an Xspurt! Yeah, I went to college too, the academy was tough, very tough. Probably why you didn't go. But don't let that stop you from expressing yourself on matters that you have no actual experience in. Lots of that going on...
  18. E

What type of gun is this?

Not holier, just honest. Most all are, they swear an oath and take that seriously. And you seem to know alot about a field you never worked in. Kind of, what, Niave maybe? Got most of your opinions from cnn and msnbc I guess.
  19. E

What type of gun is this?

It's usually the type of guy that is a bit dirty or compromised that thinks everyone else is also. We dumped that cheap swill in the storm drain behind the station.
  20. E

What type of gun is this?

Yeah, I held that wall for over 30 years, rarely would we find a thief amongst us and they would be prosecuted to the fullest extent. It was rare, almost non existent. Get a few too many DUI's?
  21. E

Anyone watch "Yellowstone" on the Paramount network?

A soap opera, with horses, cattle, helicopters, lever action Winchesters and Colt M-4"s! I could do with less "language" and "Love" scenes though. Rip with the rattlesnake was epic... I'll probably watch the next season...

Saving money by not raising critters

Our deer are big here, lots of farming going on, they eat well. My Aunt owns a beef farm, Angus, we eat well too! Only raised one pig, came in around $3 a pound.

Saving money by not raising critters

Don, If you are only getting 35# of meat you either need a smaller caliber or shoot them less! We get about 75 to 90# pounds off the average 2 1/2 year old doe, yup doe, better eating. The meat IS the trophy! We have egg producing chickens but buy our chicken, last time it was $17 for 40# of leg...

    New Tractor Sales Are Declining

What your doing is deflection. A BLM operative that was photographed in the building, at the time the DC police (illegally) shooting a protester, is not in custody.... Neither is Ray Epps, another government employee. Look it up. Same or worse crimes, vastly different outcomes.
  37. E

And BLM was doing much worse for more than 2 years leading up to that, Burning down entire sections of cities, "Mostly Peaceful". You outraged? I think not.

    New Tractor Sales Are Declining

    Used backhoes

I paid $3400 USD for my well used Case 580 CK. The pins are still tight, she has plenty of leaks but she works and runs great. I am replacing hoses as I need too. I don't mind too much, it was affordable and does everything I want it too. I know I can get my initial investment back anytime I...

Looking for tire advice. Case 580 CK.

I'm about two miles from a paved road! I actually don't even have a trailer big enough to haul it. The idea was that it would live on the farm, there's always something that needs dug up or moved. And yes, she is old. The rims really could use cleaned up and the front tires are trash too. I...

Looking for tire advice. Case 580 CK.

Oh she's an early one alright, 1967! She is supposed to weigh in at around 9k. The bald tires on it now appear to be AG tires. The fit would be much tighter if they had lugs still on them! Thanks for the wisdom.

Looking for tire advice. Case 580 CK.

That's why I listed the manufacturers names, from talking to the locals all tire brands are different. They say one thing on the sidewall, the tape measure says otherwise. My neighbor has a backhoe that he just put tires on, now he can't get to his battery door without removing a rear tire! I'd...

    Ground Hogs

North Western PA, I have to be honest, that is not hard hunting them, just having a rifle handy during daylight hours. We only shoot the ones near the fields and garden, if they are out in the woods we don't waste the ammo.
  52. E

Looking for tire advice. Case 580 CK.

It's my first real big piece of equipment. I use it in an agricultural setting. I believe it has 14.9 X 24's (IIRC) on it now which is bigger than the original tire size. Armstrong on one side Firestone on the other, both baby butt smooth. I've been told that different manufacturers sizes are...

Will this work? Need to protect trees from buck rubs.

WE put in 18 fruit and nut trees last year, we did a complete wire cage wrap around each tree about 3 feet in diameter. lots of work, but it worked.

Has anybody tried the lead free ammo?

Good advice right there. I load for probably 15 to 20 different calibers, and I learn new stuff all the time too. I've never loaded or even fired an all copper bullet yet.

    Ground Hogs

I shot 19 this year, most from the porches with either 22/250 or .223. My wife scored 11 with her 5.56 or .243. 30 total. They will reinforce for next year, good marksmanship practice and load development. The fight never ends!

How can a rifle smell like cigarettes?

Anyhow, back to the '94, I have used Murphy's oil soap and water to "clean" the smoking smell off wooden furniture. I wouldn't use it on the steel though, just the stocks.
