Pictures from a skid steer mowing contractor

You want to come do a job just west of Branford? I need some trails cut on my property using a skid steer mulcher. I'm thinking sometime mid-late September timeline to start.

Can't believe Sams Club did me this.

I will never go back to Sams' for tires. Had a set of BFG KO2s put on a Ford Superduty. Truck rode rough, I took the tires back and asked that the rebalance the fronts. After waiting two weeks for an appointment. Watched as the tech balanced only the rear tires, then the TLE supervisor...

My new Husqvarna 545 mark ii

I have a pair of 545s I use, they're great little saws. Just picked up a 562XP to check it out. Wife has a Husqvarna sewing machine, we took a picture of "his and hers tools". Would like to find a Husqvarna rifle to add to the collection.

Modern equal to mythical Stihl 026 chainsaw?

Agreed except for the 545MK2, carried by some stores. That's a real pro Husky saw. The rest are "homeowner" saws. It's hard to do the comparison between homeowner and pro except once a person runs a pro saw, they know the difference. Good point. When I was getting started in saws, I...

lowe's wrong chain saw in box

Having spent some time in retail, customers have been told "they're always right" and act like it. Such that it's difficult to differentiate between the legitimate problem, and the person making a scene if they don't get their way. Some time back I was in a Tractor Supply store looking to...

    New Tractor Sales Are Declining

It was always going to decline - the "outdoors bubble" is over. Folks who escaped the cities during Covid, playing homesteader, are moving back due to jobs. We know a couple who did this, and moved back because they missed going out to restaurants. No different than any other fad. Soon...

    New Tractor manufacturer

I believe there is an untouched market out there of homeowners/hobby farmers who could use a tractor, but don't know it. Building a tractor brand from scratch that has no current US presence, like Summit is doing, could be just the ticket for these folks. Give them a full featured tractor at a...

Wanted L3902HST - DEALERS DO NOT RETURN PHONE CALLS

I bought my last Kubota on a whim - saw the unit on tractorhouse, price was "call for details" but one of the pics had a price tag readable by zooming in - called and the price was just a little above the sticker in pic (and well under MSRP), and the drive was only 1.5 hours away. Went to the...

Is new equipment really that hard to come by?

Must be the area. Plenty of z421/422 around here. Plenty of every kind of mower it seems. I bought a 421/54 last month as it was aged inventory and 20pct less than the new ones.

Yes, I often forget them but they're nearby and great. Don't seem to move many Tractors but they're one of the few mom n pops left. I find Crystal to be hit and miss. They were 20pct higher for my tractor and now that Kubota has consolidated dealers my last equipment purchase they were...

Look, the original dealer that wrote the quote is a new dealer to tractors. They've been a dealer in industrial equipment for a while. There have been some learning pains as they took on the tractor lines, as to dealing with consumers vs. businesses. Let's cut them a little slack here since...

You will not be sorry with the L3302, I think that's the sweet spot in the L-series. Congratulations on the purchase.
  23. W

    New Purchase

That's right. Which is why I'd suggest buying the lowest model in the frame size, if that works. Ex: L2501 vs L3902. You're really paying a huge premium for the extra HP. I'd think if you could justify the delta between a L2501 and 3902, you could justify the delta between L3902 and MX4700.
  24. W

Are tractor prices dropping, have they peaked?

Wish you were correct but I doubt it. Certain political types are in favor of importing enough people to take up the slack (and future voters?) Combine that with the cyclical underbuilding that has gone on the past 10 years, and I just don't see the basis for a major housing crash.

My neigbhbor has a B2650 and I have a L2501. He bought his after I bought mine. They are very compatible, the B is like having a loaded Ford Ranger and the L is like having a base model F150. The L can do everything (minus MMM) the B can do, but the B will always be limited by size. And they...

    My Truth on RK Tractors

Based on your picture, looks like you have one of the early imports - they suffered severe paint damage from UV. There were a couple tractors in the Leesburg, FL store that had burnt orange hoods for clearance prices. Supposedly this was fixed in later units. When I was tractor shopping, the...

    Love it but regret it

Yes, for $2000 the BushHog 215 would have been the correct decision, even driving up to SC to pick it up. Unfortunately they were sold out and only had the lighter version (185?) in stock for $1900 so it wasn't a choice.

Millermatic 211 vs. Hobart Handler 210MVP

I'm going with the Millermatic 211. Went back and forth, and the price on the miller increased $120 in the meantime. I plan to keep this one for 15-20 years so I eliminated anything with a LCD screen control panel - which is a lot of good products.

As mentioned above it's recommended. My 6.2 (2016 Yukon Denali) had terrible spark knock on 87 so it pulled the timing and reduced the power substantially.
