First time in the snow - wonderful experience

I built my house 24 years ago. Over that time, I've used an atv with blade, skid steer, track hoe with steel sheet pinned between bucket and blade, bull dozer and now the tool cat to clear the snow. Toolcat is by far the best. In all cases though, I just put the blade/bucket down and push...

First time in the snow - wonderful experience

We got our first snow of the year (strange, it normally starts in November). Only 6" but had a chance to use the Toolcat for the first time in the snow. We don't get a lot of snow, but enough that if I don't plow it, no one can get in and out of my drive. We live on the side of a hill and you...

    Toolcat moving slow

Well, I've been holding out to get to the dealer (2hrs away) to get the pedal recalibrated. Just been driving around real slow. Yesterday something happened that triggered the red exclamation point on the control panel to light up. Immediately the machine resumed the normal operating speeds...

how do you remove the cab on a tool cat

The manual walks you through exactly how to do it. Was very helpful. Why are you pulling the cab? I had to pull mine to determine which hydraulic hose was leaking and have access to replace it.

    Winch add to my Toolcat

No issues yet. One might argue that it weakens the support structure of the boom by welding it like I did. On the other hand I technically welded in a "brace" so I think it will be OK. I nestled it in tight in the corner. Had to ensure it cleared any aux hydraulic hoses that could be hooked...

    Winch add to my Toolcat

Good idea. Would also "look offroady" mounted to the tool cat when not in use. :)

That’s a good thing to have in emergencies. Nice work.

    Winch add to my Toolcat

Added switch in the dash and port for tethered remote below seat. It is long enough to reach front or rear.

    Winch add to my Toolcat

I have gotten my Toolcat stuck so many times in the 4 months that I’ve had it that I decided to go ahead and add a winch to it so I hopefully don’t have to find help every time to free myself. I added a receiver up front right above the tie down point. The winch can’t stay there obviously while...

2007 Toolcat - no traction, stiff suspension, differential lock?

Update... First off, I wanted to say thanks to aelsnow for the new rear fenders. His generosity and contribution to my project can not be overstated. Last night I removed the front wheels to get new tires on them and actually got a chance to mess around with the A arms. For the several...

Toolcat is an amazing Christmas light decorating tool

First time getting to use Toolcat for hanging Christmas lights. The bed is large enough to hold all my lights and with forks on front can carry lift wherever it is needed. Priceless.

    Jump start Toolcat

Appreciate all the feedback. I am going to run the jumpstart cable like was mentioned above.

    Jump start Toolcat

So still new to my 2007 Toolcat and wondering how do you go about jump starting it when you have a dead battery. Battery is hidden behind bed and skirting. Thinking of adding jumpstart cable that is accessible

    Toolcat moving slow

Spoke with the dealer and the service tech states that is what would need to happen if it was disconnected. I am a little skeptical as what happens if you install a new battery. Would the same thing happen? Any way, I will be taking it for a visit (2 hrs to nearest dealer). Sounds like a...

    Toolcat moving slow

In case you are wondering what your Toolcat looks like without the cab on here it is. Very beefy backbone. Sorry for all the junk in the background. I had it shoved in corner of the barn.

    Toolcat moving slow

Well I'll be. That might do it, and amongst all the things I can do in my shop, this is not one of them. Will have to contact my local Bobcat dealer and inquire. Thanks @ruffdog. I would have never even thought that was a thing. I did unplug it for sure. Good news was I followed the...

    Progress on Toolcat restoration

Here’s some photos of the after restoration of my Toolcat. 2007. I’ve had it a couple months. Rustiest thing I had ever seen. I used Eastwoods rust converter program on it. So far so good. Also had a new bed made. Stock one was rusted clear through.

    Toolcat moving slow

Appreciate all the help I've gotten on the other topics I've posted on here. I've only had mine for a couple months and the restoration is coming along nicely. I actually got a chance to use it the other day and blew a hydraulic line running to the steering controller on the firewall. To...

    Need Toolcat Shock Info

I haven't tried that yet. What are you thinking? Possible replacement of part of the shock. That could be an idea? A couple of mine have bent rods. The toolcat was not treated kindly before I got it.

They had 1 available. Keep thinking there should be an aftermarket version available? Even some type of air shock/bag as a replacement?

    Lights on toolcat

@laurencen I must have something amiss as there is nothing that happens when I switch it over. That helps knowing the original intent so I will check it out and see what's up. Appreciate everyone's help.

    Lights on toolcat

@ruffdog was right. How in the world did I miss all those?????? Unfortunately, none of them seem to have any change on the lights. Only the ones on the fenders is all that will come on. Looks like I have some trouble shooting to do.

    Lights on toolcat

Thank you!! I will have to look and see if I can find a switch behind the steering wheel. Haven't noticed that one. If it is there, I am going to feel pretty stupid for not seeing it. I know the key is back there.

    Lights on toolcat

So on my recently acquired 2007 Toolcat, I have not been able to determine how to turn on the lights that are along the sunvisor above the windshield nor the rear work lights at the top of the rear glass. There is one switch on the computer display in the center of the dash marked with a light...

    Need Toolcat Shock Info

Has anyone had any update on ToolCat shocks. Bobcat website stated "out of stock". Hoping there is an alternative that has been identified by now. Thanks. I have 2 that are froze up/bent (were like that when I bought the machine and trying to restore it).

2007 Toolcat - no traction, stiff suspension, differential lock?

Actually got more time on the ToolCat last week. Just had a new dump bed made for it. The original was a rusted mess. Like everyone states, when the 2 wheel steering is on and the rear wheels are straight, I actually could tell a difference. Still had to be careful with unlevel ground, but...

2007 Toolcat - no traction, stiff suspension, differential lock?

Thank you. Unfortunately, I see no diff lock switch on the middle console. I've read about the 2 wheel steering and rear wheels straight requirement. One thing for certain, my rear wheel sensor needs some attention. I never have gotten the little green light to come on indicating the rear...

2007 Toolcat - no traction, stiff suspension, differential lock?

I think it would behave much like my Polaris RZR. It has a solid rear axle (no dif). When you turn it tears the heck out of what ever is under it. Where I live, this isn't an issue. Am I missing something that would prevent the rear steering from actually steering with the welded dif? I...

2007 Toolcat - no traction, stiff suspension, differential lock?

Appreciate the help everyone. The photo above with the a-arms gapped below the rubber bushing when up in the air is just what I needed to see. Mine do not drop. Something must be froze up in the shock or a-arms I am betting. Will have to dig in and will let you know what I find out...

2007 Toolcat - no traction, stiff suspension, differential lock?

I recently purchased a used Toolcat. A 2007 5600. Always thought they looked very handy and wanted one. Found one that was extremely rusty but at a good price. I've set out restoring it. One thing that has surprised me is how little traction the machine has. It gets stuck at even the...
