Yup, still a lot less than an Echo. A lot less.
  129. CloverKnollFarms

I just bought an Echo 2511t clone for $99. What was I thinking?

The saw was cheap... Everything else will seem expensive in comparison. It is silly. My bar/chain conversion was $55 😂
  130. CloverKnollFarms

I just bought an Echo 2511t clone for $99. What was I thinking?

I have the OEM intake neck, so I'll probably get an OEM
  131. CloverKnollFarms

I just bought an Echo 2511t clone for $99. What was I thinking?

Yeah the oilers on the clones seem to oil plenty on low

    For the Canadians here

Heading to MI this week and my folks are about over the air quality alerts from Canadian wildfires. It's been bad the past several years, I mean, to the point we were closing airports on the east coast. Stop exporting all that pollution 😂

I just bought an Echo 2511t clone for $99. What was I thinking?

Found a dead tree in the fence row that needs to be removed. I'll order the .325 kit and let the little saw handle it

    Promising news on emissions requirements?!?

I grew up on 1950s-1980s diesel ag tractors, mostly open station. Diesel exhaust is like moms peach pie... Brings back awesome memories. After 20 years running pre emissions ag equipment, I'm not sensitive to the smell at all. Black smoke billowing, pulling a plow through heavy soil with a...

I just bought an Echo 2511t clone for $99. What was I thinking?

It's stiff out of the box. Get a smaller diameter, long socket, put it over the brake lever and pop it. You'll be fine
  138. CloverKnollFarms

    Promising news on emissions requirements?!?

To be fair, TYMs would be the least affected... Since they #1 almost never regen. None of this 30-50 our noise. #2 a TYM can be deleted without the tractor going into limp mode, unlike any other brand on the market as far as I know. The tractor doesn't care if the can is on, or off, it will run.
  139. CloverKnollFarms

I just bought an Echo 2511t clone for $99. What was I thinking?

They are great little saws. Can’t wait to get the .325 chain kit on it. I have a 60' tall black locust to process.

    TYM vs Yanmar

Until you need it and the market is down 20% It's a personal choice. Personal finance and all. I'm a 100% cash guy. I don't really care what other people do. If borrowing makes them wealthy, awesome. I just took a different road to the same outcome I suppose. I'm sure I spend less...
  142. CloverKnollFarms

I just bought an Echo 2511t clone for $99. What was I thinking?

Yes, perfect fit. The pin that restricts the movement of the oil adjustment screw is much more robust than the JonCutter version. It's not the ECHO part, but aftermarket that is a direct ECHO replacement.
  143. CloverKnollFarms

I just bought an Echo 2511t clone for $99. What was I thinking?

    Awesome. I'll snag a .325 this week
  144. CloverKnollFarms

I just bought an Echo 2511t clone for $99. What was I thinking?

Anyone running a .325 speed cutter set yet on this saw? I have one in my cart, sorta maybe better balance with power and cut speed
  145. CloverKnollFarms

I just bought an Echo 2511t clone for $99. What was I thinking?

Went out and cut down, cut up, three smaller trees. Snappy little motor. The 3/8LP is a bit grabby, I may address that later. Runs great, starts super easy, oil reservoir lasts as long as a tank of fuel, not any longer... That is set to minimum
  146. CloverKnollFarms

I just bought an Echo 2511t clone for $99. What was I thinking?

Got the new oil pump installed and the saw reassembled. Seems a bit snappier than with the OEM can. I have the oiler set as low as she will go, and there is no way it will starve the bar for oil 😅
  147. CloverKnollFarms

I just bought an Echo 2511t clone for $99. What was I thinking?

Got my exhaust cover modified today
  148. CloverKnollFarms

I just bought an Echo 2511t clone for $99. What was I thinking?

Yep, XYX is correct. The OEM inlet wont work now that they fixed the mold. I will say the plastic finish quality is better than I expected. I hope to have the saw back together this weekend. I can see myself using this for a lot of my work instead of the CS400
  149. CloverKnollFarms

I just bought an Echo 2511t clone for $99. What was I thinking?

No I did not. I’ll see if the JonCutter one will fit, if not, I’ll get the OEM. It just wobbles around a lot on the clone carb. The tabs are tight, really tight, but it still has a lot of play in it for some reason
  150. CloverKnollFarms

I just bought an Echo 2511t clone for $99. What was I thinking?

The JonCutter was using about 1 tank of oil to half a tank of fuel. The pin that is supposed to secure the adjustment screw, and not allow more than 1/4 turn of adjustment approximately, was barely present, allowing the screw to turn and also be pushed up out of location by the spring. Not...
  151. CloverKnollFarms

I just bought an Echo 2511t clone for $99. What was I thinking?

Pulled the oil pump, found the issue, it may be resolved. If not, cheap and easy fix. Will address tomorrow. She runs like a raped ape though.
  152. CloverKnollFarms

I just bought an Echo 2511t clone for $99. What was I thinking?

I cut up a small tree with it. The oiler was so excessive it was leaving puddles on my boots. The saw started second pull and ran very well. I’m betting the oiler is buggered at this point. I don’t think the adjuster screw should have 1/4” of vertical movement when pressed with a...
  153. CloverKnollFarms

I just bought an Echo 2511t clone for $99. What was I thinking?

Saw looks great. Very little if any flashing on the plastic parts. Carb was tuned really well for 50:1. Air filter is a little loose… I’ll see if the OEM throat plate helps. Spark plug came out easy enough. One issue. Out of the box the chain oiler was extremely excessive. So, I attempted...

I just bought an Echo 2511t clone for $99. What was I thinking?

Yeah I saw that photo of the cover trimming on a form too. Good work for a Dremel
  155. CloverKnollFarms

I just bought an Echo 2511t clone for $99. What was I thinking?

I would have gone with him, but I don't want to wait 5 weeks for the $99 saw. I can save 5 weeks with an hour of careful setup

I just bought an Echo 2511t clone for $99. What was I thinking?

I don't mind projects, especially for $99. I need something to spend time on. Signs like a good saw that may just need a little tweaking
  158. CloverKnollFarms

I just bought an Echo 2511t clone for $99. What was I thinking?

Loose filter? Wonder if you got an OEM filter

  162. CloverKnollFarms

I just bought an Echo 2511t clone for $99. What was I thinking?

I guess I'm curious if you have an OEM filter size and small intake throat... Or if you got the smaller JonCutter filter
  163. CloverKnollFarms

I just bought an Echo 2511t clone for $99. What was I thinking?

So, does it fit the intake loose?
  164. CloverKnollFarms

I just bought an Echo 2511t clone for $99. What was I thinking?

Yeah, I'll check mine over well, may need to get an OEM filter
  165. CloverKnollFarms

I just bought an Echo 2511t clone for $99. What was I thinking?

Yup, I guess now I can buy OEM filters in the future
  166. CloverKnollFarms

I just bought an Echo 2511t clone for $99. What was I thinking?

The reading I've done said the clone inlet, was smaller than OEM, and the filter was OEM sized, causing the filter to fit very loose. Guys we're doing all sorts of shade tree fixes. Some bought the OEM inlet and it was a perfect fix. Lots of videos of poor fitting filters due to incompatible...

I just bought an Echo 2511t clone for $99. What was I thinking?

I bought the Egan, which is literally just a pipe. Also got the OEM mount for the air filter to secure it better. Should be able to get it set up next Tuesday

Recent college grad unemployment is sitting at 6.6%, while the national average sits at 4.2%. This has been in part attributed to AI replacing entry level white collar positions
