What is the purpose of self-driving cars (or whatever the liberal loons wanna call them)? The steering wheel is a foot in front of the driver, people really are that lazy that they can't keep their hands on the wheel? What do they plan on doing, taking a nap while the car drives?

    Perma-Chink for deck stain?

You may already know this, but even though the deck is new make sure you use a deck cleaner after sanding and then a brightener to open the wood's pores to help the stain soak in and adhere better. The Armstrong Clark stain I used covers a lot of square footage, so with a large deck it may be...

Curious - some of the rounds in these photos are anywhere from 21" - 24" long. For those who heat with firewood, would you split the difference and get 11"-12" pieces, or would you cut to the normal 16" - 17" length and have a lot of 5"+ end pieces. It all burns, so probably a moot point.

Sleep apnea is no joke. I've been on a CPAP for close to 10 years now and as much as it sucks wearing a full face mask to sleep, it's made a huge difference. I'm hoping I didn't do too much damage to my heart by waiting too long to take that sleep study

    Michelin CrossClimate2

Not sure where you are reading your reviews, but I put the Continental CrossContact LX25 on the wife's Acura RDX and they are far superior to the Michelin's that came with the vehicle. The LX25 gets 4.5 stars on TireRack, the LX Sport version doesn't get as high of a rating. Maybe that's the...

Going to get a new mower to replace an almost 20 yo bobcat zrt

If your lawn is very bumpy, look at Ferris. Their suspension makes the ride so much better. Some say they don't cut as nice as Scag or Exmark but I have no issues with mine. I have an IS2100 with a 29.5 HP EFI Kawasaki motor. If you tend to mow high wet grass, I have read that John Deere's...

    BEST WORK GlOVES??

Just try the ones I posted in the link to Harbor Freight. For $2-$3 if you don't like them or they wear out too fast you're only out a couple bucks
  140. Duds13

    BEST WORK GlOVES??

So far these have taken a lot. No signs of wear at all. I live in the northeast and the winter version is nice too on a cold day. They are cheap too so if they wear out, toss them and buy another pair!

    BEST WORK GlOVES??

I've recently converted to this style and happy I did. Great grip so fatigue is reduced, and great for firewood because splinters wont penetrate the coating. https://www.harborfreight.com/safety/gloves/a5-cut-resistant-work-gloves-large-57643.html

I posted some pics a few weeks ago of my maple syrup operation (which requires a lot of firewood!) so I'd thought I share a few from yesterday's tapping. Put in 45 taps and will put in 45 more today. Crazy weather this winter in upstate NY so far so who knows what this season will be like...

    Yoder wood pellet smoker

I've had my eye on a Mak 1 Star General for a few years now but just can't bring myself to spend a couple grand on a smoker. Researched the hell out of them, 100% made in America, built like a tank and supposedly the best electronics in the business. Maybe some day I'll pull the trigger...

SOme really great suggestions here, many thanks to everyone who commented and suggested various routes. I'm always guilty of paralysis by analysis, so it might be some time before I make a decision and actually pull the trigger. I'll definitely post a follow up when I do though!

Trying to find a local dealer for Dolmar/Makita, not having much luck at all. Nice eye! Yes, we have a "sap house" that holds two 65 gallon tanks, and that gauge on the wall will give us an idea of how much is left in whatever tank we are pulling sap from when we are boiling. This is a photo of the sap house. If you notice the two tanks are tilting forward - they are...

Thanks so much! I'll be honest, everything was built and on the property when we bought it 5 years ago. Thankfully the original owners are still close by and taught us everything we needed to know. Never in a million years did I think I'd be making maple syrup, but it sure is fun!

Yeah it is definitely time consuming! Just yesterday I was thinking about a different wedge for the splitter that would make the process a little more efficient. Even a 4 way wedge would be much better. As much as I enjoy splitting by hand, it was not done by hand!! hahaha

HAHA Yeah it is definitely a lot of wood, and a PITA to split it to that size. Syrup is just a hobby for us, we average about 20 gallons a season but it is a lot of fun and when late February / early March rolls around I am ready to get out of the house and do something productive!

I find that when my mask starts to leak, it is time to change the cushions on the mask. I also love the mask liner from Pad-A-Cheek, not only helps prevent leaks but also prevents the red lines on your face and forehead every morning and is much more comfortable especially in the summer months.

Sleep apnea, CPAPs and other sleep health solutions.

I'd like to add that an AHI of 10 or less is considered good by sleep doctors and in comparison to an AHI of 60 without a CPAP it is much better, but in reality your AHI should really be 2 or less. A friend of mine who also suffers from severe sleep apnea took a look at my data when I first...
