What have you done to your Branson today?

I shipped my starter back to the dealer for warranty replacement. Ran the tractor briefly on a recent evening, went to start it the next morning and only the clicking of the relay. did all the diagnosing and concluded it was the starter. Called the dealer and I have one month left under warranty...

    Branson 2515 Starter R&R

FYI, got the starter out and had it bench tested locally. Failed, so working on gettin a replacement under warranty.

    Branson 2515 Starter R&R

Yeah, the engine is fine... I ran it the night before, went to start it then next day and nothing there.

    Branson 2515 Starter R&R

Made sure the battery was fully charged. Checked the relays and fuses, checked the PTO switch and the neutral switch. The relay clicks when the key is turned, but the engine doesn't crank. Checked and cleaned the ground wire at the battery and at the frame. Checked voltage at the starter; 12.7v...

    Branson 2515 Starter R&R

Well, I'm 3 ½ hours from the dealer, and I have an offset flail mower on the back and the loader on the front, both sitting on the ground, so no way to move the tractor. I just need to pull it and send it in.

    Branson 2515 Starter R&R

My starter seems to have failed on my Branson 2515H... I have one month of warranty left on it! You can't just buy a solenoid either, and the new unit is around $700. Looking for tips before I start. Has anyone else had to do this yet? It looks like I will have to move a hydraulic supply line...

What have you done to your Branson today?

Good suggestions thanks! No, absolutely no abnormal noise 😅! I consider it a blessing. I'm going to have my listening ears on for quite a while once I get her fully back in service!

What have you done to your Branson today?

Yes, there is water in the hydraulic oil and in the oil again (I didn't have filters for it, but I had to get it moved.) So I've ordered filters from the dealer. Looks like I'll be doing my 350 hour service at 150 hours!

What have you done to your Branson today?

Good point! Thanks for that. I'm going to go out and top off the oil and wash out all of the silt in just a bit (after I feed the cows), and then I will definitely do that.

What have you done to your Branson today?

Saturday the 13th we had major flooding; the water came up within an hour! When I realized it was about to overwhelm my tractor I made the decision to try to get it to higher ground, but I hit a low spot and it sucked in water and hydro-locked! I was hopeful I could save it because I...

    Branson brand to be discontinued?

Here's a FYI and shout out to TYM and Dave's Tractors. I bought my Branson in late May of 2022, and was disturbed when I found out that they were being sold; under new ownership, how well would they support my product? Well, I found out. I had barely used my BH150 backhoe until the past two...

Agreed. They don't compress like gas does, but they do expand and contract with temperature.

    How to repair tire?

Has anyone have any experience with a product called Multi Seal? I've been seriously considering it. They have a formulation for addition into filled tires (10% of the liquid in the tire). It's a leak stopper for tires but it's not like slime. It uses kevlar fibers, isn't sticky, stays liquid...

    kioti quit

I would suspect the fuel shut off switch. On a Diesel engine the only way to turn it off is to shut off either the air or the fuel. Normally there is a fuel shut off solenoid that stops the fuel when you turn off the key. I would check to see that when you turn on the key it is opening the...

Why not sugar water in tires instead of beet juice?

    Thanks for the explanation!

Why not sugar water in tires instead of beet juice?

https://www.fedsteel.com/insights/stainless-steel-sugar-industry/ From what I know, sugar is acidic and does contribute to corrosion of carbon steel, though not as much as salt. That being said, in a sealed environment with water, air and sugar corrosion would be much worse than just air, and...

Why not sugar water in tires instead of beet juice?

Very true about the tire issues; that is one of my concerns. Has anyone have any experience with a product called Multi Seal? I've been seriously considering it. They have a formulation for addition into filled tires (10% of the liquid in the tire). It's a leak stopper for tires but it's not...

Why not sugar water in tires instead of beet juice?

Good question! It's just what the guy said, no reason for him to lie. In food plants they use food grade tubing with triclover ferrules rather than pipe and flanges, so it is usually a much thinner wall than pipe. There are lots of things that eat stainless steel, and it isn't always cost...

Why not sugar water in tires instead of beet juice?

Actually, I sell liquid process equipment for my day job. If you want to see a picture of stickiness and rusty metal, just visit a sugar processing plant! Sugar is highly corrosive and I would never recommend putting it into your tires, so I did a little research on "beet juice." The reason for...

What tractor do you think is the quietest ever?

Apple AirPods Pro's have GREAT noise canceling and the are in ear, not headphone style. I use them when I'm running my flail mower.

    Branson brand to be discontinued?

If that happens I'll just be proud I got mine when I did! Maybe they will keep the name and change the color, then I still have bragging rights; "oh, yeah, I have a red Branson."

What have you done to your Branson today?

So, here is a lesson I learned... the mower manual said not to start the mower at full speed. The Branson has an electric PTO switch (so there is no easing the PTO into operation), with an option that stops the PTO when the implement is raised and automatically starts it when lowered. I tried...

What have you done to your Branson today?

Ahh, thanks! So that is how they turn the 2515 down to 25 hp! Very happy with the flail mower, doing a great job for me. It's the Titan 57". The weight is nothing for the tractor, but it does bog down in 2' high wet green grass. if I mow it more often I should be able to fly through it!

What have you done to your Branson today?

(Yesterday) I got my new ditch bank flail mower set up and running! Very happy. I have a question though... On the tach it has marks for "540 RPM PTO 1st" and "540 PTO RMP 2nd"... Can't find anything in the manual about running the PTO. What RPM should I be using?

What have you done to your Branson today?

Excellent! That's one more thing I liked with the Branson and Daves... they told me that doing my own maintenance won't affect my warranty. I prefer to do my own maintenance, so the only reason I would ever have to take the tractor back to Daves is if I need warranty work done.

    Minimum HP for Flail Mowers

I think I've settled on the Titan57". The Titan is 617 lb. All the other models in standard duty are 650-750 lbs I realize lighter isn't necessarily better when it comes to equipment... that weight is coming from somewhere. But every decision is a series of tradeoffs (unless you're Elon Musk)...

What have you done to your Branson today?

Super happy to hear that! They seem very solid to me. It's about a 3-½ hour drive from where I live, but worth it to get what I want... and a good dealer to boot makes it all the better!

What have you done to your Branson today?

That's a bummer! I just bought my 2515H on Friday... I couldn't believe how many the dealer had! He sells Mahindra and Branson. He told me that they have sold 14 tractors this month and 11 of them were 2515s. I was down to the same two options you are, but the all cast construction, weight and...

Thanks for the link! Actually I just bought the tractor and take delivery later this week. I did add extra remotes front and back, so there will be a learning curve for sure! That makes me hopeful! With the loader, filled tires and me on board I'm about 4800 lb. I like that Fox Cross mower! wish it was a tad less expensive, but I'm sure you're getting what you pay for with Italian equipment. I mow my front field twice a month, and have to rent equipment to do the...

    Minimum HP for Flail Mowers

I think there is definitely something to that. The 2515 is the heaviest tractor in it's class, the same frame that is used all the way up to the 48 hp model. I had the tires filled with beet juice and with that and the loader attached and me on board we should be weighing in at 4800 lb. the...

    Minimum HP for Flail Mowers

Thanks for the quick feedback and the link to the Caron!. I see on their site (Caroni) that they have a 59" suitable for 20-40 hp, but when you go to an adjustable model they call for 30 hp. The upper HP limit is, I think, due to the AGMA standards for gearbox loading; they limit you from using...

    Minimum HP for Flail Mowers

I have a new Branson 2515H, and I am trying to decide on a ditch bank flail mower for it. My question is, when I look at a mower they will say "Minimum HP 20" or 25 or 30 etc. My tractor is 25 hp, 20 hp at the PTO. What does that minimum number REALLY mean? Is it a suggestion? The tractor is...
