3650 PST 50 Hour Service Questions

    1. Best place (general question) for filters? My local dealer wants $117 for hydraulic spin on filter, seems insanely high. Can't find a cross reference part but I see some supposed Mahindra OEM parts on fleabay for around 40 bucks. 2. When changing hydraulic spin on filter and cleaning the...

RPM - Give me some piece of mind?

Power shuttle. And yeah I was going by memory on the PTO I have not used it yet so I don't know it too well. I only have about 10 hours use on this tractor so far. I have done mostly loader work with it, the 1800 number you mention makes me feel better. I know under revving is no good. I'll try...

RPM - Give me some piece of mind?

Shuttle Shift... what RPM do you guys run at? PTO is 2800. At first I was running around, just moving some stumps around 1500, thought that was too low and started setting it around 2000. Especially for digging into dirt piles, I set it around 2000 in low 1 then use the foot throttle as I'm...

"Universal" Tractor Fluid - Depends on your transmission type?

@RidgeHiker My mahindra calls for the same fluids. I did some research on the shell fluid. The Shell Donax, from what I can tell, is the same as Shell Spirax and the Shell HD Tractor Fluid. Most importantly, and this may not apply to you if you have a hydrostatic machine, all the fluids you...

"Universal" Tractor Fluid - Depends on your transmission type?

@scootr look at the kubota page: https://www.kubotausa.com/parts/kubota-parts-products/lubricants It appears that the part number difference is only in the size jug it is packaged in. I don't have a kubota though confirm what I have said.

    mahindra 65302wd shuttle shift

Do you have a service manual Bill? I have a 3650. There is a PTO control valve. An electrical solenoid in that valve directs hydraulic fluid when the PTO switch is hit and that hydraulic fluid activates the PTO clutch which then causes the PTO shaft to spin. So maybe that solenoid is stuck on...

"Universal" Tractor Fluid - Depends on your transmission type?

I have a Mahindra 3650 with a shuttle shift, recently broke a hose and lost most of my fluid, been looking for replacement fluid. This machine has shared fluid for transmission, hydraulics, and wet brakes. -Manual calls for SAE 80w UTTO (Universal Tractor Transmission Oil) that also meets API...

    New 1635 glow plug light

The operating manual for my 3650 mentions that over 70 degrees just start it up, below 70 let the pre heater do it's thing. If over 70 and you just go to start, the glow plug light will stay on for a while... seems like it goes through a cycle no matter what by design. I thought this was odd too.

@ruffdog it is the all purpose transmission/hydraulic/brake fluid. Mine is not hydro but I think you could use the same. The SAE ratings are different for gear oil vs motor oil... 80w gear is same viscosity as about 20 weight motor oil from what I've read. A lot of the tractor fluid makers rate...

    She bleed out today!

I think I have a solution. I took a piece of the hose to a hydraulic shop thinking it was SAE 100r1 which is rubber/steel braid/rubber (based on the cross section I saw) to get the reusable fitting. They told me it was not SAW 100r1, it was just rubber hose with fiber/cloth reinforcement. We...

    She bleed out today!

I've been looking into reusable hydraulic fittings. At this point my plan is to cut off a section of the hose and bring it to a local shop. Have them identify the hose and get a reusable fitting I can install in the field on the broken end of my existing line. At the same time have them fab up a...

    She bleed out today!

The machine is on property that is all forest... home is 25 miles away. I am clearing the property to build a house. I guess if worst came to worst I could weld up the broken banjo fitting and pay someone to truck it to my house.

    She bleed out today!

About my 3rd time through the service manual I have finally identified the part. I am attaching (2) pics that are screen shots from the manual. The first is how to remove the part the top end of my broken hose attaches to. It is the PTO Control Valve. Steps to remove the valve include...

    She bleed out today!

@beenthere (wonder if the '@' works on this board?) you are right. "C" part came out after removing another piece of steel that runs perpendicular to the axles. Then I was able to actually remove the banjo bolt/fitting while leaving 'B' on the tractor. Hose 'A' is fine the piece of wood is...

    She bleed out today!

I don't see a way to do this... Maybe the seat and fenders need to come off not sure. I'm hoping someone has some experience here. I have a shop manual but it is no help.

    She bleed out today!

Agree and apologies. I did not have the ability to edit the photos when I posted. I had the filenames of the pics be descriptions but I see that did not carry over to the post. The long and short of it is the pic looking down at the deck of the tractor... where the tip of the screw driver is...

    She bleed out today!

Getting the banjo fitting at the low end of the hose off will be no problem. I took off the bracket that was blocking the banjo bolt from coming off. I found the other end of the hose. It goes into this block with a bunch of other hoses in it. Looks almost like a spool valve on my excavator...

    She bleed out today!

Good eye on the wood chip. That hose is fine. It does look like a banjo style fitting. I tried to take it off today but didn't have a 24mm wrench in my tool box. I'm hoping the banjo bolt comes out without any clearance issues since there is not enough room. If that is the case I'll locate the...

    She bleed out today!

Thank you all for the replies. I will head back out to the woods tomorrow and try to get the hose barb out of that fitting. Does anyone know where I can find good parts schematics? I need to find a part number for the hose and possibly that square fitting. I've been looking on...

    She bleed out today!

I was moving piles of brush and saw a trail of juice on the ground. Figured I punctured a hose on the loaded but this seems to be much more of a PITA. I think this was the low point of the transmission I lost a ton of fluid. The hose end broke off in the fitting of that square thing in the...

    Harbor Freight

I am a novice welder, I own a nice hobart mig machine. I broke the thumb on my excavator and thought sticking it would be better since the plate is 1/2". I bought the Titanium Stick 225 from HF. It is a 120/240V inverter style, I think it goes up to like 180 amps. I bought a couple pounds of...

    2020 Mahindra 3650 w/ 24 Hours

30k delivered, including 3rd function valve, ballast box and loader. I've already agreed to purchase with a hand shake so I am comitted. All dealers in my area are quoting straight MSRP + tax which is near 48k. Looking at prices in midwest it looks like dealers are not selling at MSRP like they...
