I don't see a problem with adding 6" to each end of the rake. I added a cylinder to my 7 ft rake to change the angle from the seat. Been helpful as I mostly rake rocks or leaves into a big windrow for removal.

I've done that too. Steel belted radials can provide extra challenges trying to get the reamer through the belts too. I've had very good success over the ages with tire plugs.

Another vote for grease here. Cheap, readily available, and zero rust. But no harm in using a cover unless the shaft is not greased in which case it will rust.

The D606 rear tire was pretty stiff. I can't imagine getting it on without some type of machine to hold the rim. I just saw this gadget and I'm not gonna lie, it looks pretty cool. But it won't work with my changer unless I change to a shorter center bolt???

I've since had 2 of the 4 cylinder Perkins. Both good engines as well. Honestly I can't say they make a whole lot more power but they do drink more fuel. The 3 cylinder Perkins is a solid option.

I doubt they are hand made. They have the mark of factory assembly. FWIW, I was a saddle maker in one of my careers. Search CL and see what similar saddles are listed for. $100-200 here locally Or go to the feed or tack store and see what they have used... they may even take them on commission...

I'm not a real mechanic either but, if you are only getting a little diesel out of the injectors lines then you are getting air out as well... baring an air leak, more of the same should work. Maybe try bleeding injectors one at a time?

You will need a valve stem tool and 3 HF or WM tire spoons and a lubricant like tire wet or dish-soap. The machine will pay for itself if you do much tire changing at all.

I bolted mine to a 3x5 steel plate and bolted that plate to a pallet. I move it around as needed but store it out back when not in use. We have a lot of golf carts and good off road tires are cheap on Amazon. The HF tire changer is well suited for these 8-12" rims and tires.

I bought the tire changer listed in the what did you buy thread page 262. It's a cheap bare minimum set up. I have 2 HF tire spoons. Having dismounted just 1 tire I can see that a better machine might be a better choice. But I have years of tire changing experience so I'll make it work. Warning...

Funny this came up today. I just assembled something similar for motorcycle tires. I got the old one off. Heating the new tire up in the sun while I have some lunch before giving it a go. Oh yeah, I'm using those same HF spoons.

I installed that meter/usb port thingy on the handlebars. It has an on/off switch which makes it easy to check the battery charge when it's sitting now as it has for a week while I make some changes. I changed the front sprocket 15T to 14T yesterday and finish the skid plate installation...

To a point you are correct, until the machine is just too big and heavy for the application. That was the point with my old Terex 640. It did road maintenance like a boss but was less desirable for small daily tasks around the ranch. I replaced it with a Kubota MX5200 and I should have done that...
