Everlast Welders - Welders and Plasma Cutters by Everlast

Mark can you offer up your feelings on the hatchet 60 or Powerplasma 52i as far as what is not listed on the website. I would only be doing manual by hand cutting so the hachet 60 not suitable for CNC does not bother me at all.

    2004 chevy 2500 6.0L

As follow-up to my earlier post I do still have a 2005 2500 hd with the 6.0 that I bought from Craigslist for not much money. No plans to ever get rid of it.

    2004 chevy 2500 6.0L

As close to claw hammer reliable as you can get. On paper it will never win the hp bragging rights wars if that is important to you and it will like its gas but the competitors of the era were no better in regards to fuel economy and way worse in reliability. Fact is the 6.0 is still running...

    6.0vs6.6, 6.2vs7.3, 6.4 Hemi

The 1999 to early 2002'ish 5.3 with piston slap are not oil burners in any way. The piston slap does not really hurt a thing albeit it is annoying as heck when engine is cold till the engines warms slightly and the piston expands and noise disappears. Pretty much fixed and a non-factor by late...

Where were the 350 or 454 listed by the Original Poster? I must have missed this part of the original question? If your disagreement is in regards to my claim that the 6.0 is the best base engine to date ever put in 3/4 ton truck? I will take a 6.0 over a 5.7 any day of the week and twice on...

    6.0vs6.6, 6.2vs7.3, 6.4 Hemi

The Ford 6.2 is a modular based engine with slightly bigger spacing between bore centers. Google anything you desire from Wikepedia to various press releases from various sources and they all pretty much state the 6.2 is a modular based design. I will say it is likely the best of Ford's...

That is just it the venerable GM 6.0 has been around since 1999 or 2000 where the Ford 6.2 would be the next oldest introduced in 2011, the Ram 6.4 introduced in 2014, and the GM 6.6 gasser or ford 7.3 gasser are all introduced 2020 or newer so in theory the price points each could potentially...

New guy, looking for more opinions.

I suppose some rotary cutters do better than others, but I made hay for several years using my little Kubota L285 and a 5 foot genuine bush hog brand rotary cutter so yes it can be done. The hay was equally as good in quality as the haybine type mower conditioner that I use today on the same...

1946 Farmall M and 1960 NH 65 baler (at dark pics)

Well knotter problems cost me some valuable time today so no good action photos of the baling or bale picking up process but I did snap a couple pics at dark. Got all the bales (guessing 160 or so) picked up before dew set in. 2 truck beds full plus the 16' trailer stacked as high as I care to...

New to me New Holland Super 68 baler (pics)

Well I now have at least 1 back-up machine for each function of my hobby hay operation. Multiple clunker tractors, 3 ways to cut it, 2 ways to rake/improvise tedd, 1 way to truly tedd, and now 2 ways to bale it.... Not the prettiest baler, but the darn thing has not been used all that...

I like the gold tint helmet lense ($7 splurge)

Stopped by Rural King on the way home from work tonight. While I was looking around, I happened to see a Hobart #10 lense in the Gold tint lense. Thought what the heck for $7 dollars I will try one. All I have ever used is the basic green tint lenses. Installed it in one of my back up...

Anybody ever used their wire feeder as an improvised 3-d printer?

Well, Let's try to do something different regarding all the mig or flux core wire feeder talk that has been bantering: Whether, 115 volt or 230 volt, I really do not care. My question is have any of used your wire feeder as an improvised handheld 3-d printer? I will admit that I have. While...

Bought some new welding rods today (for the Miller thunderbolt transformer)

I broke down and bought some welding rods a few days ago. Been using some garage sale finds of unknown brand for the past several years. Fresh new rods sure make a difference over some of the junk that I have been burning lately. Here is a brief summary of each. a) US Forge 1/8" diameter...

Hack welder now an aspiring hack machinist

Picked up a "new to me" toy a few weeks ago. Fray model # 10RH vertical and horizontal mill combo. Hopefully, it will be an oldie but goodie. Always wanted a mill and this one came along in my budget. Maybe someday I will have as many toys (oh I mean tools) as Shieldarc.

1951 Farmall h bales hay (pics)

Well, I finally got the wheels narrowed up so thought I would try my 1951 Farmall h on the baler for the first time. That's not Casper the ghost driving it is actually my wife who cut herself from my pictures as usual. Tractor does not look like much but runs very well (and I paid very...

    Update on my Stickweld 250

I have kinda joined the dark side

Well I have kinda joined the dark side. I currently have a Lincoln SP-135P 115volt Mig in Weldmark brand disguise and also a venerable oldie but goodie Lincoln AC-225 tombstone stick welder that is AC output only. My usual mode of operation has been to use the 115 volt wire feed for anything...

Shieldarc - Would you be willing to bend test some "Messer 80T AC" rod?

Shieldarc, Your 7014 thread sure has been a forum hit. Would you be willing to weld up some test coupons using some Messer "80T AC" rod and then bend them in your bender for evaluation? I have never tried this rod, but have been wanting to try them. It would be great if you could weld some...

My 2nd Joh Deere 594 hayrake almost done (pics)

Well as luck would have it, I had a flat on my other 594 rake so I had to put this one into service before I was quite ready so it is only about 90% done, but thought you might enjoy anyway. This rake is somewhere between a 1937-1944 so it is a little older than my other rake. I actually bought...

Value of a PTO drive auxilary hydrualic pump

I recently purchased a 1948 Case DC with a PTO drive auxilary hydraulic pump ( I have no idea what brand the pump is). I plan to keep the tractor but have no use for the pump. What would be a fair price to ask for the pump and mounting brackets? Of course this pump could be used on almost any...

Hobby haying pics with a compact tractor and bushog

Well here are some pics of hobby haying with: a) An older compact tractor. A Kubota model L285F of around the year 1977. It is about 26 PTO hp. b) An old square back genuine brand Bushog as the cutter. c) JD model 594 rake which I reurbished (this dates to somewhere between a 1940-1948 year...

Old Wheel Horse D180/D200 Garden tractor value?

Spring cleaning time. Have had this thing sitting in my barn for 10 years and have not done anything with it so it is now time to go . I have an old Wheel Horse either a D180 or D200 - not sure as hood decal differs from the cowling decal. The tractor is complete but I do not have the engine...

New Idea model 30A sickle mower (pics)

Well my hayrake and baler refurb's were completed earlier this year and worked fine for two hayings this season. I hope to complete the last phase of "budget baling with a low hp tractor" this winter by refurbing this old New Idea model 30A sickle bar mower. While my old square back bushog...

baler opinions sought (FMJ or others using CUT)

Let me start by stating that this endeavor will only be for play not really need. That said, I have been looking for a small cheap/old baler for my Kubota L285 (30 hp gross engine, 26.5 max PTO hp). I will not be pulling a wagon and am only looking to play with on my own 5 acres of pasture...
