Amateur, opportunistic or professional theft has been around forever. Some just seem to like thievery. Historically, horse thievery was, well, severely frowned upon.
Depending on the outlook of property owners in an area, professional thieves just seem to know which areas are best to avoid...
2 years old CS2220 with now 310 hours.
No issues since the valves were replaced and the valve wells on the head were ground out to make more space for the valve stems.
Seems to be a reliable unit since the original QC engine build issues with the head were corrected.
I do take care of it thou...
The FEL being off-level is not a problem I have experience on my CS2220.
The only FEL issue I would quibble over is the slow loss of hydraulic fluid back thru the valves if I park it for a bit (engine on or off) (loaded or unloaded). Due to the length of pallet forks it is more observable, but...
Relying on level ground to reference things as straight and/or level is problematic.
On uneven ground select wood blocks under the tires (mostly rear ones) will get you close as the front axle will tilt, but you still need a solid level reference for the tractor body (rear axle) and then any...
The only thing I would add is to put your FEL bucket down and lift the front axle off the ground a bit to take the pressure off the pivot.
I have noticed the grease will go in much easier and likely get better distributed within the pivot.
Same goes for the other zerks, but I have notice a...
It is always a good idea, particularly when you have not-very-nice transmission sounds, to drain the filter after changing and cut it open to check the filter pleats to see what is in there.
If you can hear grinding, there must be some metal filings being created.
Show the dealer the old...
I have tried that. At this stage of life the bending over while moving heavy objects is well, problematic.
I use HIS name in vain far less using the pallet fork-based table top method.
God created fire.
Next he inspired the wood stove, chainsaw, tractor, FEL, log splitter and then........................
......pallet forks! Hallelujah!
For some reason it takes a special level of not-paying-attention to get the fingers between the blade(s) and log, but it is much easier to pinch them between the log and the beam end.
Definitely not a job for anyone with ADD or someone who has no fear of a PTO.
It is the rad overflow tank. The plastic can become or is brittle (cheap plastic). As the coolant inside the radiator and engine heats up it expands and flows into the overflow tank. When the engine coolant cools it gets drawn back by suction into the rad and engine keeping the cooling system...
Well you are safe for now.
An auspicious (non-functionality) launch won't inspire confidence they know what they are doing.
To me these apps are primarily designed to collect and sell data on the users who download them, not necessarily help you bypass their dealer network. Is their 'free app'...
Based on my experience with sticky joystick valves, I am pretty sure it is the upper control valves (2) under the rubber cover (1) at the joystick based.
Mine seemed to be lacking any lubricant. I used some silicone grease to solve the sticky/jerky movement.
700 lbs, depending on how it is piled on the pallet (vertically) might be close to the limit on lift and stability for a 2000lb tractor.
The farther the load is out in front of the loader/bucket pivot points the greater the stability and lift issues. Forks in front of a bucket is...
Law of used tractor purchasing: Risk tolerance in used tractor purchases is inversely proportional to ones bank balance.
I had a friend who purchased (cheap) a beauty JD 4WD Utility/FEL that had ~1100 hrs and was completely clean and shiny (nicely stream washed) everywhere......only to find out...
"Sorry, blueish smoke. Good old oil burning kind of smoke, and smell."
Engine oil is getting past one or more of those piston rings and/or valve seals. Might be able to play with oil viscosity to see if it makes any difference?
600 hrs on a diesel is not really very much, however if it had...
I too had a mystery coolant leak on my CS.
It first appeared after a engine warranty fix by the dealer. I assumed it was a rad system leak but could not determine where the coolant was coming from. The dealer took it back and pressure tested the system and scratched their heads over the source...
"Thanks for your help guys! I don't think there's any issue with the battery, because I have power........."
I too once thought that a 12V battery that showed ~12 -12.5V was not the source of an electrical gremlin.
....that was UNTIL I discovered that a 12V battery can produce 12V on a...
Agree, from my own point of view, skills and desire to problem solve and find solutions.
There has been a long history of vehicle/equipment manufactures 'building in' the limited ability for non-certified techs to work on the equipment. This goes beyond limiting manuals to creating specialized...
Racor is pretty much the diesel fuel filter standard. I added one to my GM 6.5TD which was much larger and easier to change out than the built-in engine top filter on the 6.5TD.
I was in Saskatchewan at the time and a heater was required in the winter - even with winter diesel. If you go with a...
Yup...... my CS2220 was the same. When I picked up filters and fluid at the dealer for the 50hr service he told me I could reuse the fluid........but for a few extra bucks I was not going to try the 'vacuum hose method' to keep the fluid in .......and I was not going to strain/clean the old...
Sometimes it is hard to understand what and why they did things-that-way in history?
My experience with filters and fuel pumps is that the filter is always first, otherwise the pump can get gunk buildup which affects operation and at the extreme ceases function.
Back-when maybe they made...
First off I know nothing in particular about a DK 5510, but I have had long experience with diesel equipment.
2nd, congratulation on snagging a low hour tractor.
3rd, 2018 with ~20hours means the fuel in the tank is mostly from that time - 6 years old. No matter what you put in it since you...
Running out of engine oil or THF on steep hills would not be on the top of my mind when the 'pucker' factor happens...............
Steep hills pose many more relevant concerns both up/down and sideways than oil circulating in the engine..........but since you asked....... it has been discussed...
I don't get too wound up on oil brand names and over the years have no brand loyalty.
I just go with the latest API (American Petroleum Institute) diesel engine rating which currently is CK-4. The last rating CJ-4 is good too.
I most often buy Walmart 15W40 SuperTec when it is on sale and if...
This is absolutely true.......I should not just assume!
Now that you have the hose off stopper one end, bend it into a U shape at the worn part and immerse in a pail of water.......then with a duster attachment on your air compressor hose (use some electrical tape or rubber if you need to...
Rotella 15W40 T5 is good stuff year round if you store it indoors in winter.
Your USED oil can be used as a fire starter on burn piles or take it to recycle.
The first time you do stuff is a learning experience.
After you get the fluids changed out check the levels after a 1/2 to 1 hour of...
Ya I fix the link - it is correct now.
Do a youtube search for the fuel filter replacement on the CK2610.......there are several.
Un-used fuel from the injection system should go back to the fuel tank so you cannot over prime the system.
Any air in the system between the filter and the...
From watching your video it appears to be a priming issue (air in the system) from changing your the fuel filter.
Prime it again until you get the air out.
The rodent is unlikely to have cause enough damage to breech a hydraulic line.

It sounds like your mechanical/fabrication skills/experience is limited. I guess I just assumed someone who owned one of these and lived in that sort of location had accumulated some practical skills required to do that sort of thing.
Changing out hydraulic lines is not rocket science, but if...
" I think I need to get that hard plastic coiled wrap for the hydraulic lines if 20 hours of work does THAT to the hose. "
The tearing on the nylon sheath is likely due to a burred/sharp unfinished edge/weld on the inside of that hose opening.
Just a guess here, but quality control missed it...
Corrosion on the +ve terminal, in my experience, is pretty odd. I have only seen corrosion on the -ve post or cable connections.
Whenever doing electrical repairs always remove the ground first (black) and when reconnecting always connect the +ve (red) first. "The one in the red dress is always...

In this case the spelling mistake was a dead give-away.
I hear you.
Dealer prep should have noticed something like that, but it is hard to get good help these days......maybe the phone app for dealer prep did not include checking for cylinder leaks??? ....or dealer prep is saved for when a warranty issue is identified???
I notice dealer prep, if it...
Yes, this will be 'interesting'. Keep us updated as I have yet to see or hear of warranty work being covered.........by mailing new parts to the owner.
Hopefully you have a trailer as a backup plan.
Insurance.....ah yes!
My life-long learning curve:
1) Agents will attempt to sell you the most 'protection', but when there is an actual claim the sales side is distinctly separated from the claims side.
2) On the selling side, agents know that the 'feeling or perception' of insured safety is...
The only things I would add (and it has been mentioned by others here) is to check the dipstick levels on the fluids before changing and if they are in the correct range measure what you take out (including draining the filters) and replace with the same amount (with a few extra mls for the new...
Times are changing but was not the API (American Petroleum Institute) designed to remove all the quality/miss-representation questions about lubrication products ....by standardizing lubricant grades?
Would not any API GL-4 be applicable (except for use in hypoid gear designs...... again...
Depending on how bad the leak is, it can still be used.....till it starts dribbling out.
With a little cleanup, an auction is a good option to pass it on.
For someone with the tools/workshop replacing a transmission/engine seal is far more doable than for someone who has to pay someone else to...
....ya we seem to be living in a time were "rules" can be added, amended, invented, deleted as required.
All part of the "rules based order" when you think you have absolute control.
This is good advice and insurance. If you never have a major issue that requires future warranty work, you could use any filters/fluids you would like.........but if you have the misfortune of buying a machine that has a manufacture flaw, you will be at the mercy of the dealer for warranty...
At 161 hours on this 2023 unit and today while moving a load of marble I felt a small Kerrr...klunk when going over a small bump and when shifting from forward to reverse on the HST.
At first I thought it was the new ballast on my 3pt hitch shifting left-right, but a hand on the ballast soon...
I utilize my CS2220 to move stuff around that my 4.5ton Yale fork lift cannot or does not like to go.
How much ballast do I need and can I minimize the size of the ballast? No need to have more than required, right?
After think about it for awhile and experimenting how to best utilize the full...
It is a dam good thing you are handy and have the tools/patience.
Were you able to find all the bits of metal?
Main bearing still good/free of metal bits?
When you cracked the engine from the trans did it look like anyone had been in there before you??.......or was the problem a factory issue from manufacture?
With only 500hours?? I am guessing this was a factory QC mess-up......unless it was opened after for some reason.
Thanks for the pics.
With all the work required to crack it open, you should just plan on replacing both the throw out and the clutch plates. If the pressure plate/fly wheel surface is marred, then it will need resurfacing, but you will not know for sure until you can actually take a look at it.
Also, is there a...
Just a heads up on the plastic caps that Kioti uses on tanks.
I had my CS2220 come back from the dealer after warranty work on the engine with a coolant leak that appeared to be coming from the radiator.
It turned out that the leak was in fact coming from the coolant overflow tank lid. When...
When I read it I thought the same - intuitively at least , but I do not know enough about the dynamics of oil flow to say so factually.
I can see small holes as an issue with very cold viscous oil, but I ask myself why would Fram make small holes (that are more restrictive?) when it would be...
Sorry, after doing more searching on Bob using different terminology, I find that this has been a big (and complicated) discussion point for some time - sic "Delta-P".
Ya, can of worms.
It would appear that in the mechanics of the total oil pumping/filtration system no filter will restrict the...
Yes.....I thought of that first and did a site search to see if my question was asked before.......alas no luck in my site search of Bob.
If I strike out here, I will post on Bob.
I'm thinking it may have something to do with the dynamics of fluid flow......but my education in that area of...
Yup.......however the relative difference is still there.
Total Area of holes: =(PI()*((Hole Diameter/2)^2))*#of Holes
A Kioti filter has 8holes X 7mm =38.5mm2 area (308mm2 Total)
A Wix 51334 has 6holes X 6.5mm =33.2mm2 area (199mm2 Total)
A Fram PH3593A has 12holes X 4mm = 12.5mm2 area (151mm2...
I realize I might be opening a can of worms here, but I am curious by nature.
I notice that different oil filter makers list filters for engines and......
1) they will be made from different filter material (assumed)
2) will have slightly different shapes
3) will have a central hole the...
LED lights in the winter months make a world of difference on a tractor (or any vehicle) doing snow removal. I have spent many early morning hours clearing a very long drive into the farmsite so I could get out to work and the family to school.
When LEDs came on the scene I traded out the stock...
If you are mechanically handy, it is a good find, for sure! Can't beat the price.......unless of course, they were willing to pay you to dispose of it for them.;)
How many hours are there on the meter? It will be one of the meters on the instrument cluster.
Air in those tires should be the first order of business. Hopefully they are not cracked and will hold air.
Once you have flotation, you should be able to tow it to a good place where you can work on in comfort, safety and close to tools. Might have to tow it backwards and drag the FEL bucket...
I was thinking loose connector(s) on the back of the console, but if it is a fuse - an easy thing to find in the fuse box - then it will be more complicated as that will mean there is a bare wire somewhere that is shorting out.
Shorts in a wiring harness are a PITA!
.......hmmmmm .......my long term experience with engines is that the first filter change is better sooner than later and it is worthwhile cutting them open to have a look-see for what is there. The build process for an engine is not perfectly clean and there is always some material that gets...
....I guess this one is related to hearing and personal musical tastes.
This my first HST tractor and to be honest I do not notice a sound/feel/performance that seems odd. Honestly it feels every bit as solid in movement as a gear/shuttle tractor ......with the added benefit of not attempting...
Mine has certainly had build issues, but cannot say I have noticed FEL sloppiness.
The only FEL issues I have noticed are:
1) the control arm valves needed lubrication to smooth out the control movements.
2) as I use pallet forks mostly there is a drop at the tips over time when I am in a...
There are definitely at least two ways attaining a manual for your tractor.
I speculate, and feel free to correct me if I am wrong, but one of the issues about buying a manual online is the credibility of the source.
How does one know they are purchasing a real manual AND how does one know if...
Not sure about the CS2410 model designations, but look at the schematics here:
Kioti CS2410F CABIN Schematics
or master list of CS schematics here:
Kioti CS Schematics
Kioti Sal is correct .........BUT with 12 hours on the clock I would hand it over to the dealer as a warranty issue and make them pickup the costs of pickup & return as someone did NOT do their pre-delivery inspection.
Any tech worth anything should have felt the slop in the drive connection...
I too have gone thru this thought exercise. My situation is 2 acres of heavy clay soil that is imperfectly drained from November to June. This is also the time period when it is green and growing. From July till October dries out, turns brown and hard - except for the septic fields. The surface...
Spin-on diesel fuel filters like oil filters are generally a hand-torque item. If they have a O ring, make sure it is lubed - diesel fuel is an OK lube - but I prefer a thin coating of silicone brake lube, but that is just my preference.
O rings function by a complete mating between two clean...
...that is odd.
Since you have time on your hands while you wait and I assume you are working on it indoors, I might suggest another place to check.
It looks like that drain is a low point in the chain. Is it possible the leak could be above there? Say where the sediment bowl joints the...
.....or the o ring has a crack, gouge, is twisted (needs a bit of lubricant), is the incorrect size or somehow got into the incorrect placement.
yup....check the o ring status carefully. I always find a little bit of silicone brake grease makes them much happier going in and out.
@Mule
"....build an adaptor so the seat will go further back and maybe a quarter inch higher. It will be a bolt on adaptor cause I do not want to alter the actual tractor in any way."
Just a word of advice on this idea: Good idea BTW as there is limited real estate in the cockpit........BUT...
hmmmm.....anyone have a SC2220 manual and willing to share?
I have decided to keep my CS - devil you know, versus the devil unknown?
We will likely need to get better acquainted with this 'devils' documentation.
Not a whole lot of feedback about the newer CS series.......maybe not many around yet? Unknown?
I think I know what you are referring to. I have my steering wheel tilted all the way forward as on this sub-compact most adults need all the room they can get to enter, exit and operate while...
Like my old Zetor 4340........simplicity has been under-rated in the engineering of new tractors (and other stuff too).
There could be a lot of value and sustainability in creating newer/updated tractors based on the idea of simplicity, longevity and easy maintenance.
Are all the bells and...
....hmmmm ......I would be satisfied with one that does not have issues I need a dealer to resolve, requires high maintenance and is ready to go when I am.
I am willing/able to work out the fine tuning/useage parts.
I have never been in...........nor wish to ever be in an 'abusive' relationship with any tool or vehicle - no matter how useful or pretty they are when things are going well.
I guess it comes back to past experiences...........I once owned an FEL Zetor 4340 as a yard/utility tractor in...
I do not have any answers.......I have just observed that where there is only one dealer in the area, you are subject to how they chose to interpret/approach warranty or other issues. I guess it is part of the dealership business? A package deal, one might say?
This not to say it is all one...
Yup....I hear you and know this and I am torn about the devil you know VS a new one yet to be danced with.
Like I said I like the tractor, but I do not like getting involved in a 'discussion' between dealer and manufacturer over a warranty claim..........invariable I have the feeling somehow I...
You are not the only one who has had issues - issues that really should not be happening if their quality control processes were top notch.
Broken Valve due to bad head casting
After I got it back from warranty service for the bad head casting, it was leaking coolant from somewhere under the...
First, I will assume all the battery connections, both +ve and -ve are clean and tight and there is no corrosion on any of the connections from battery to starter motor and all the insulation covering the wires is intact (no rub/vibration wear anywhere).
That said.....I read that you replaced...
Cold humans can be ingenious creatures......
Look.......they created a 3M stick-on made of silicone for those pesky aluminum oil pans (careful on how you torque the oil pan drain bolt).
Silicone oil pan heater with 3M adhesive
It depends on where you store your tractor and how cold it gets in this location.
If it is stored outside a block heater is a must, but I have found that a magnetic oil pan heater really helps as warm oil makes turn over and starting so much easier. A block heater does not warm up the oil way...
Not much chatter about this experience?
Either there are not many CS engine owners here, not many CS's out there, or hopefully, mine is the one-off and the CS is largely issue-free (I am hoping for this one myself, as I will likely keep mine now that it is fixed).
Post Surgery Epilogue: It is...
Second weeks news:
Definitive findings from dealer/Daedong
1) I and the dealer do not know the exact production/casting/finishing process so we do not know if this is a systemic issue or a one-off.
2) The casting/finishing of the cylinder head is the issue.
3) The issue is the flanges at the...
First weeks news:
Preliminary findings from dealer/daedong
1) Broken push rod on intake valve for cylinder #1 (front of engine)
2) Exact cause is not yet finalized, but primary observations leaning towards manufacturing imperfection in the push rod and/or cylinder head. Wear marks are...
It went back to the dealer in a cloud of white smoke yesterday........does not run well on 2 cylinders, but well enough to climb the grade onto a trailer deck.
Will update on what transpires at the dealer.
Before I take it to the dealer for warranty work, just thought I would check out real world experience here with the experts.
CS2220 with 115hrs 7months old all of a sudden (engine running fine for over an hour at operating temperature) started smoking (white) with definite un-burnt diesel...
Thanks for all the thoughts and ideas.
Yes, it is still under warranty and I have been in to talked to the dealer.............as expected I got a bunch of mumbo jumbo about leakage tolerances, but they don't know what they are, but will certainly have a look if I bring it in and let me know if...
I have a CS2220 with FEL, purchased new this year, which is exhibiting odd FEL hydraulic behavior.
When I raise the loader (even without a load) it will slowly succumb to gravity - both bucket tilt and main arm - with the bucket tilt dropping faster than the main arm. There are no hydraulic...
