It has 5 wires

I changed out the plug, spliced the wires according to the old plug, plugged in the 30/40 amp relay. No change. I jumped the 2 wires at the relay plug, that seems to be the only thing that works.

Are you saying to extend the wires from the hold socket to a larger relay? I bought a relay just like that one at Walmart

Could the higher amp relay cause any issues with the wiring? The original relay is a 20/30 amp, the 2 I got today are 30/40 amp. How would I wire from the hold relay to the pull relay? Could I just use a jumper wire on the hold relays 2 wires that I tested on?

Not sure what you mean by the second paragraph.

So are you suggesting to get a higher amp relay?

I jumped the wires without the relay on the socket. Why wouldn't the other relay work when I swapped them?

I jumped the 2 wires, the solenoid plunger stayed in. I terminals where clean on the relay and the socket. I wired brushed them just the same.

Yes, had a light on the red w/black stripe. I could feel the relay click.

With the test clamp on ground, the blue w/yellow stripe had no light at the relay.

All of these tests passed except the Blue w/ yellow stripe. No light with test light clamp on ground.

I'll give those a try and update. thanks

The red wire has power for a few seconds, I think it is the pull wire, and the other that briefly comes on with a dim test light comes on and goes out.

the 2 wires that have power on the solenoid are a blue with yellow stripe and a red with a white or yellow stripe.

I grounded the yellow with green stripe wire, the solenoid pulled in then let out. It didn't hold in. I swapped the 2 blue relays. no change.

Yes the 2 blue relays are below the pull relays. I'll test that this morning. I did remove one then the other and it didn't affect power to the solenoid. I didn't swap them though.

The relay on the left when disconnected causes loss of power to the Solenoid.

There are 2 relays that attach under the Controller, both are 12v 70A, one of them I disconnected yesterday and the Solenoid had no power. The other relay didn't affect the Solendoid when I disconnected it.

Yes the test light was clamped to the positive battery post and the pin on the brown wire. Are you saying that the solenoid plunger should stay in? I tried it again, I can hear it click in then out.

I'm getting power through fuse 4. On the controller, 3 wires light up. A black wire, a yellow with red stripe wire and a brown wire. Not sure which wire on the plug would be number 10. I've attached pics.

Which one is PIN 10? Is that on the controller or the plug?

My mistake, the part number HA00000013A is not the starter relay. it's a CONTROLLER, OPC. I don't know what that is.

I used my test light for all of the testing. I connected it to the solenoid plug and turned the key on, one wire came on bright corresponding to the plunger going it, then went out after a few seconds. Then connected it to the other wire, the test light came on dim for a second then went out...

I checked the fuse for the solendoid, it is good. I have a volt meter and test light. how do I test the relay, and where is it located if you know.

I tested the new solenoid on the bench with a power probe, it works as it should. Could it be the ignition switch?
