I use a basic King Kutter middle buster (potato plow) and it works very well. Get the front point to sink as deep as you can. I usually see about 1 out of every 20 potatoes get cut and I'm ok with that.

My B Kub has a foil-like sticker with the ID number and it is getting harder to read as the years go by. However, the same ID is also stamped directly onto the frame rail not far from where the sticker is. Perhaps your L is similar.

The rusty welded rod is the position control's feedback rod for the 3pt hitch lift height. It is shown on the attached diagram as item #2. You should be able to see if this is the cause of your no-lift situation by manually (by hand) raising the lift arms. The feedback rod should move freely...

I mounted the magnetic strip to the back of my tractor and use it to temporarily store hitch pins, etc when changing or adjusting implements. It sure beats dropping the pins on the ground, setting them on top of a tire, a fender, inside the cup holder, or just generally misplacing them.

I use mine mainly to carry water out to the newer trees. The planking is just wide enough for two 55 gallon drums. I'm guessing a full load weighs about 1000 pounds including all carry-all material. A 12 volt pump works nicely for watering and that is mounted on the top rear of the carry-all.
