LS SAYS A REGEN EVERY 2 HOURS IS NORMAL (Update) 600hrs, 50 regens

That had everything to do with Kubota designed 'reformer' that didn't work. It was Kubota's first venture into emissions controls. Probem with 'reformer' equipped engines was they had to be run flat out and hot for the reformer to work properly and that don't work with a tractor engine. I...

LS SAYS A REGEN EVERY 2 HOURS IS NORMAL (Update) 600hrs, 50 regens

For me, DEF has a positive non emissions use. I regularly buy outdated DEF in IBC totes from various outfits around here and I spray it on my alfalfa fields as all DEF is, is deionized water and urea and my alfalfa loves urea. Have 2 IBC totes in the barn presently. When empty I sell them on...

LS SAYS A REGEN EVERY 2 HOURS IS NORMAL (Update) 600hrs, 50 regens

I'm happy for you...lol Far as big trucks are concerned, DPF units wiich are referred to in the trade as "One Boxes' are sill having issues today and why Caterpillar got out of the on road engine business. and... Nothing stinks worse than an overdosing DEF injection unit... I not so fondly...

LS SAYS A REGEN EVERY 2 HOURS IS NORMAL (Update) 600hrs, 50 regens

I do remember with heavy trucks, all the issues they had, some of which are continuing. When I retired from the industry, issues with DEF injection were commonplace and I believe are still and why you see non emissions heavy trucks still being operated and rebuilt today. Not fleet trucks but...

LS SAYS A REGEN EVERY 2 HOURS IS NORMAL (Update) 600hrs, 50 regens

I strongly suspect that in most cases the origional owner won't be on the 'hook' for the replacement of emissions components but, someone down the line will and it will be past the EPA 5 year replacement guarantee. Today, every 'for sale ad' I see always states ' not an emissions' tractor...

LS SAYS A REGEN EVERY 2 HOURS IS NORMAL (Update) 600hrs, 50 regens

One thing about the regenerative process and that is, at least with Kubota tractors that are emissions compliant, the components will only preform so many regens and then have to be replaced. I seem to remember that Kubota lists a thousand regens before component replacement which should equate...

LS SAYS A REGEN EVERY 2 HOURS IS NORMAL (Update) 600hrs, 50 regens

Me, I like soot, both mine make it constantly. Only time I don't like it is when I get water in the exhaust stack and it blows it out on my hood. Makes a mess and then I have to wash it off...

LS SAYS A REGEN EVERY 2 HOURS IS NORMAL (Update) 600hrs, 50 regens

Another reason why I'll never own a T4 unit. My tractors don't care if they are working or loafing, makes no difference (except fuel consumption). Like the one that runs the hay rake, most of the time it's loafing along. Rotary rakes are not big consumers of pto power, my twin rotor Kuhn...

Lighten up. Life is too short not to have a few 'Punch' posts. You do know who Punch was right?

LS SAYS A REGEN EVERY 2 HOURS IS NORMAL (Update) 600hrs, 50 regens

They all make soot, some more than others, some less, but the 'magic box' brought to you by the EPA, makes it all vanish...for a while at least. IMO, the whole T4 thing is a big crock of poop. I will NEVER own a T4 final diesel in ANYTHING. The powerstroke diesel in my Ford pickup truck got...

My Kubota's have never regened. Boy am I glad of that. They cannot. NO emissions junk.
