cub cadet 129

No matter what position I put drive shaft into, the mower will not disengage. I have tried taping the front clutch, penetrating oil etc to no avail. what else can I do?

I'm working on a buddys cub cadet 129, I rebuilt the pto. The problem it is having is its breaking the pto fiber button. I can get it installed ok, or it seems ok, take it out and use it, go to disengage the pto and it won't disengage, the button has broke off. Any ideas what is causing this...
