05 duramax batteries getting drained

Gm is notorious for their wake up computers.

Anything that may draw current will wake up the computer running the system for 15 minutes or so till it shuts down then it will do it again all night.

I had an 03 gas and an 06 diesel that just the radar detector caused them to wake up all night killing the battery slowly.

Anything connected had to be wired to ignition only or straight to battery.

If it's just a farm truck and you can't find the problem a battery disconnect can be an easier fix. Just use it when you use the truck, otherwise it's completely disconnected from the system while not running.

Get a big solar panel and hook it up.

I had a similar problem with my 04 Silverado.
I put a test light between the battery and cable end and light stayed lit. (cable disconnected)
I started removing fuses until the light went out.
The problem was the passenger seat. I cycled the seat controls a few times and all was good.

Have ran it some into town and haven't noticed any battery problems again. Will check today. It hasn't been ran all weekend so.

But it stopped right after I posted the thread. Who knows it's a old truck

Sounds like a loose ground wire.

Well no more problems. I don't know if it was that I had pb blaster in the plugs for the snow plow or not but that is the only thing that changed besides the plow greeting hooked up and staying on currently as I have no reason to unhook it.

I also replaced the one wire that was broke but that was just a ground wire for the hood to front clip.

At least it's not draining soo in not too worried
