Time to start stocking up, drag out all those rusty barrels. When this is over the prices will zoom as the oil production gets back in gear and they restart all along the line. Right now the industry is taking advantage of the Saudi/Russia oil war of overproduction. We are paying the difference in layoffs and pork barrel unemployment subsidies the oil industry do not have to pay for. This has to stop and put our people back to work in that industry. After all we are independent of the Saudis and Russians and do not need their production. Let them drown in their glut of production. Congress and the President both need to get their heads out of their a***.

prices don't go down as production goes down. there is a huge oversupply and the sauds have taken advantage of that. at the current fill rate, every bathtub, barrel, tanker and pipeline will be full by the middle of may. we could see negative oil prices over the summer, where you have to pay someone to take it because there is no place to put it. there needs to be cuts in production, but getting all of the producing nations on board will be difficult at best.
