Buying Advice 1 GC23 purchase

Am in the final stages of researching the 1 GC23 to replace our 80s vintage Mitsubishi MT272 2wd tractor.

The 272 has served us well over the years by cutting the brush, field and hauling logs. The biggest issue with it is that is having trouble hauling a trailer full of wood up the hills to the house. Other issues include a leaking seal at the PTO shaft and parts are hard to get.

The GC23 will definitely solve the parts issue and is small enough, although just a bit longer, to work around the trees in the woods. Having more horsepower, 4 WD, and industrial tires should help with the hill climbs. I looked at the Kubota B01 series and was not comfortable with the price.

Am getting it with the belly mower, FEL, and pallet forks. Have no need for a backhoe. The dealer is about 15 minutes from my house and is the one I bought the 272 from.

Is anyone else running this MF model? Am curious about your experience.

As far as I know, the Massey Ferguson 1 GC23 is the latest version of the GC 1723E (or EB with backhoe). There is a l-o-n-g thread about this series: What have you done with/to your GC Series 2300, 2400, 1700 Tractor TODAY

I am not sure exactly what is different than last year's model.

I'd like to know what the differences are between the GC1723/25 and the 1GC.23/25 are. This got me curious but I can't find any information other that a new seat design an the decals. As per the previous updates in model # it appears they are the same tractor with a few minor changes.

Comparing the parts books, 99% the same machine.

I'd go down to my dealer and take a look but they still have the older models on the lot.

But yes, anything related to any of the GC's will apply to the new model. A GC is a GC. Overall they are great little tractors.

It was delivered a few weeks ago and I am very happy with it. It is doing everything I need it to do. Am slowly getting use to the hydrostatic drive and the left foot braking.

The dealer filled the rear tires with fluid at no additional cost and delivered it on the day promised. They went through all the features and helped me figure out how much to cut off the PRO shaft on my field mower.

The user manuals for the tractor, mower deck, and loader total about one inch thick. About half or that is safety warnings . When I went through the manuals it seemed like some of the operation of the control levers were not fully covered. This may be me not fully grasping what the manual was saying.

All in all I am enjoying using it and looking forward to many happy hours of use.
