1 man PTO chipper operation

Is there a way to get the rear PTO to operate my new PTO chipper without me being in the seat? Thanks in advance.

My kubota will run the PTO if the seat is tipped all the way forward.
At the risk of provoking the Safety Police (or being accused of one myself) I'd still suggest having a helper.

Bender, I have a 3520 which I believe sprouted from a 4310. To get the PTO to work when off the seat I need to have the parking brake engaged, then get off the seat, then engage the PTO from the ground.

Yes, A helper is very nice when chipping, but I want them for a lot more than just sitting in the seat!

I have a 4310 and have used the rear PTO while off the tractor (using 3 pt sprayer with wand). Like others have stated - Just set the park brake, get off the tractor and the engage the PTO.

On most JDs, there's an underseat button that can be pulled up with the seat tilted forward that allows the PTO to be used without someone on the seat. However, it didn't work on my 4010. I jumpered a couple wires to get it to work and have the instructions for doing this. Bet they're the same for your tractor, if the button doesn't work. I can send to you if you want to try it, if your button is there but doesn't work.

However, most of the time I just run a tension cord from each side of the ROPS around the front of the seat back and hold the seat down, because I sometimes want to leave the chipper running while moving to another trash pickup site.
